[00:00:02] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:00:35] So kick us off. What do we got?

[00:00:37] We got history was made at Brunswick City Schools this past Sunday. The Brunswick High School Girls Swimming clinched their first ever conference championship.

[00:00:47] The whole team just dominated start to finish and was led by the winning 200 medley relay team.

[00:00:53] So it's very cool.

[00:00:55] Here's the team here.

[00:00:56] Need to go ladies. Good job.

[00:00:58] Congratulations.

[00:00:59] Oh, let's see. What other good news do we got?

[00:01:02] Somebody else had a great weekend.

[00:01:05] I saw that, but we didn't. Did we get an update on this?

[00:01:08] No, we didn't.

[00:01:09] So somebody in the snow asked somebody else to marry them. I don't know if it was a lady that asked or the guy that asked, but somebody got a little backwards with their R's, but I'm sure it's the thought that counts. But we've got to know. So if that was you, give us a call. Let us know. Right?

[00:01:32] Yeah. Unless maybe she didn't say yes. Or maybe he didn't say yes. He could have been me drinking. Yeah. I mean.

[00:01:38] You're such a Debbie Downer. Why did you end up? I don't know. I don't know. I would be like, yeah, it was me. We're getting married. But not if she said no.

[00:01:50] Thanks.

[00:01:50] All right. We've been out of, we've been off of it for three, a couple of weeks now. So we got a lot of businesses coming and going. Are you ready for all this?

[00:01:58] I can't even keep up. I'll let you do it.

[00:02:01] First of all, we got a special planning district number nine still in the works. This is a multitude of parcels over on the corner of 303 and 42. Now, when I say on the corner, I don't mean Conrad's or the Lou Ray associate building. I mean, right behind them, all that green space next to the bowling alley, all the way over to the fire station.

[00:02:24] It looks like a multi-use property again, where it's going to consist of about 240 apartments and 43 residential townhomes and some other commercial buildings for retail storefronts. There's going to be a meeting on that coming up, I think mid January. I think it was the 22nd, if I remember correctly.

[00:02:47] I mean, I don't know if my opinion counts because I live in the township, but I'm just on the fence about this one.

[00:02:52] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:02:56] You hate to see. I mean, the plan looks pretty good. But my goodness, we don't, we don't have, I don't think our traffic or safety forces can afford anymore.

[00:03:06] But well, I was going to bring that up and I was going to say, you know, look, we just heard from the firefighters union last week about how numbers haven't been increased. And what did he say? 20 years?

[00:03:17] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they're running with the same six, six guys on each staff for the last 20 years.

[00:03:25] Yeah. See, that's something I would think something's got to be done there, but I don't know.

[00:03:31] I don't know.

[00:03:32] No, you can't keep building and building and building and then not include, not increasing your safety forces numbers, I guess, but I don't know.

[00:03:41] Right.

[00:03:42] Oh my, I'm just a township person.

[00:03:44] Time will tell.

[00:03:46] We get our own issues.

[00:03:47] And then, yeah.

[00:03:50] Oh, but something that is popping up, coming in quick, I guess, is a bridal shop.

[00:03:55] Yeah.

[00:03:56] No.

[00:03:56] Over in Town Center. Is it open?

[00:03:58] Not yet. Noble Bridal.

[00:04:00] Oh, okay.

[00:04:00] They put up the sign, but nothing's happened yet.

[00:04:04] All right. Well, we'll keep an eye on that and let you guys know if we hear from them about when they're going to be opening and stuff like that.

[00:04:10] But that's something different, right?

[00:04:12] Yeah.

[00:04:12] Also something different right across the street from Noble Bridal right there with Samurai that just opened.

[00:04:18] There's going to be a 24-7 virtual golf business called Back Nine.

[00:04:24] It's another something different in Brunswick.

[00:04:27] It's nice to, you know, if it's not a restaurant.

[00:04:30] It's 24-7, though.

[00:04:31] That's kind of different.

[00:04:32] Yeah.

[00:04:33] Yeah.

[00:04:33] Members will have all the time access.

[00:04:35] It's bring your own snacks and beverages, at least for now.

[00:04:39] And the virtual systems seem to be pretty state-of-the-art.

[00:04:43] So I'm pretty excited.

[00:04:44] Yeah.

[00:04:44] Or support one of the surrounding restaurants, you know?

[00:04:48] Yeah.

[00:04:49] Yeah.

[00:04:49] Get it to go and then take it over there.

[00:04:51] That would be, you know, a win-win.

[00:04:53] Absolutely.

[00:04:54] So that would be great.

[00:04:55] Well, I'm not a golfer, but for those of you that are, yay.

[00:04:59] Yeah.

[00:04:59] So it's just a matter of what's opening first.

[00:05:03] Wingstop looks like it's almost done and ready.

[00:05:05] Oh, yeah?

[00:05:06] Yeah.

[00:05:06] I think.

[00:05:06] Yeah.

[00:05:07] I drove by a couple days ago, and, you know, the counters looked almost cleaned off, and there's a couple boxes looking here and there.

[00:05:14] My prediction is most of these will open before Market 42.

[00:05:19] Oh, I forgot about them.

[00:05:21] Yeah.

[00:05:21] Yeah.

[00:05:22] They're still on the horizon, too.

[00:05:25] Oh, my goodness.

[00:05:26] Those poor people over there.

[00:05:30] Oh, but hey, you know, I don't know.

[00:05:33] But all right.

[00:05:34] Over on North Carpenter, there's going to be a new place opening up called Top Level Gaming.

[00:05:41] And they gave us a sneak peek of some of their renderings, and construction's still underway, they said, as of the first of this month.

[00:05:50] They're going to have some fun stuff planned for when they open.

[00:05:53] But, like everything, construction.

[00:05:56] Yeah.

[00:05:57] Curves, delays, you know, that kind of thing.

[00:06:00] But they're getting close.

[00:06:02] Yeah.

[00:06:02] Close, you know, lots of good stuff going on.

[00:06:04] But that's, you know, another gaming thing.

[00:06:06] Not something else for the kids to do.

[00:06:08] Everybody wants something for the kids to do.

[00:06:09] Here you go.

[00:06:10] And the adults.

[00:06:11] I mean, Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming out.

[00:06:14] Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming out.

[00:06:16] We hope they open up in time for that.

[00:06:19] And then Panda in the parking lot should break ground this summer.

[00:06:24] Yeah.

[00:06:25] All right.

[00:06:25] Well, we'll see.

[00:06:26] This next one, I don't even know the current status.

[00:06:30] Are they on again?

[00:06:31] Are they off again?

[00:06:32] What is going on?

[00:06:34] You know those revolving doors that you get stuck in and you can't, you know, get out?

[00:06:39] And, but okay, we'll go back in.

[00:06:41] And nope, you got to leave.

[00:06:42] You got to get out.

[00:06:43] So I think they're giving up.

[00:06:46] I think they're, they're done.

[00:06:48] I think so.

[00:06:49] I think their current status is.

[00:06:51] It sounds pretty final.

[00:06:52] Is going out of business.

[00:06:53] So bye bye big lots.

[00:06:55] Yeah.

[00:06:56] They, they thought in the final hour they're going to be saved by a sister company or somebody

[00:07:02] that was going to open them back up as like a farm store or something.

[00:07:07] But nope, we don't think so.

[00:07:09] Yeah.

[00:07:09] Well, you know, we've had our moments with big lots and Bumswick.

[00:07:13] So not that we would have been able to save the entire company, but it would have been nice

[00:07:18] to, you know, still have them around.

[00:07:20] But, um, we'll miss you?

[00:07:22] Question mark.

[00:07:23] I don't know.

[00:07:24] Good luck.

[00:07:26] Arrivederci.

[00:07:27] Um, what else we got?

[00:07:29] Uh, we got this one where, um, somebody asked us to email Whistle Stop Express.

[00:07:35] Asked the groups to email Whistle Stop Car Wash.

[00:07:38] I guess the heaters inside had not been working for some time, I guess, since Rainforest

[00:07:44] was purchased by Whistle Express.

[00:07:47] So, uh.

[00:07:47] Yeah.

[00:07:48] I hope they get things straightened out.

[00:07:50] I hate when corporate big companies buy.

[00:07:52] Yeah.

[00:07:53] You know, and Rainforest was really good to the community as far as giving us stuff, you

[00:07:57] know, giveaways and stuff like that over the years.

[00:08:00] And the haunted car wash was a lot of fun that one year.

[00:08:02] Yeah.

[00:08:02] They got rid of all the, you know, all the, the, the Rainforest statues.

[00:08:06] They got rid of the waterfall.

[00:08:08] They got rid of the Halloween stuff.

[00:08:10] Uh, and apparently they got the, they got rid of the heaters to take care of the staff

[00:08:14] too.

[00:08:15] Um.

[00:08:17] Yeah.

[00:08:18] And then somebody said that half of the, uh, brushes weren't working.

[00:08:22] So, um, I, uh, I don't know.

[00:08:25] I made a little song about it through, you know, I love AI.

[00:08:28] Here's a little song about it.

[00:08:30] Do you want to hear it?

[00:08:31] Yeah.

[00:08:31] Let's hear it.

[00:08:32] Yeah.

[00:08:44] Morning frost bites through my skin.

[00:08:47] Standing here working.

[00:08:49] Don't know where to begin.

[00:08:52] The boss said, keep it moving.

[00:08:54] Gotta make that cash.

[00:08:56] But the heaters aren't on.

[00:08:58] Did they forget or just stash?

[00:09:01] Broken promises and shivers down my spine.

[00:09:05] We're out here freezing, but the boss says it's fine.

[00:09:10] All get us through.

[00:09:14] But we just keep on washing, feeling cold.

[00:09:18] And water spray so cold, it stings my hands.

[00:09:27] Trying to keep my focus.

[00:09:29] Trying to understand.

[00:09:31] It's profits over.

[00:09:33] So what do you think?

[00:09:34] Is it, is it a good song?

[00:09:35] Um, yeah, it's kind of catchy.

[00:09:37] I think it might go up the charts or not.

[00:09:43] All right.

[00:09:43] I don't think so, but this is just part of this episode is so depressing.

[00:09:48] I'm just like,

[00:09:49] if you weren't depressed yet, this one makes me so sad.

[00:09:54] Oh, we are so sad.

[00:09:55] After three years, Tangled Vine is closing their doors.

[00:09:59] They're about, I think probably 40% off this week of all the,

[00:10:02] including the wines, all the retail items, everything like that.

[00:10:05] And they've got some other stuff.

[00:10:07] They're just liquidating everything.

[00:10:09] And so if you're interested in anything, contact them.

[00:10:12] Um, they've got a few events that are still going on,

[00:10:14] but a lot of great memories.

[00:10:16] Um, it's just, it's hard.

[00:10:19] She didn't really say, Jen really didn't say,

[00:10:21] but I think, you know, they've got kids and, uh,

[00:10:24] it's just running a small business is not for the faint of heart.

[00:10:29] And she, her and her husband gave it a really good shot.

[00:10:33] So just from the outside looking in, I think they did,

[00:10:35] they did social media.

[00:10:37] Excellent.

[00:10:37] They, uh, engaged the community.

[00:10:39] Excellent.

[00:10:40] Um, all the different events that they had, they did excellent.

[00:10:43] Um, you know, it says, uh, the last line says,

[00:10:48] while this may not be the end of Tangled Vine,

[00:10:51] it is goodbye for now.

[00:10:52] Only God knows what the future, the last two lines,

[00:10:55] only God knows what the future holds and what turn our story takes next.

[00:10:59] So I really hope at some point they, uh,

[00:11:03] make another go at something because they were really amazing.

[00:11:07] Uh, yeah.

[00:11:08] Business.

[00:11:08] That really, really is a tearjerker there.

[00:11:12] Cause they were just, they're good people and you hate to see that,

[00:11:15] but they need to do what's best for their family and themselves.

[00:11:17] So, um, all right, let's, my gosh,

[00:11:21] how do you transition into anything else right now?

[00:11:25] Um, but we do have the results of the Brunswick community Christmas

[00:11:28] decorating competition.

[00:11:30] And so here we are.

[00:11:32] The winner for the business is a home Depot.

[00:11:37] And that was sponsored by cool beans cafe and they want a $200 catering

[00:11:40] package.

[00:11:41] They're going to be fed.

[00:11:42] Well,

[00:11:43] and it was a lot of fun just seeing their decorations and stuff like that,

[00:11:46] that they put up the house boy.

[00:11:48] He just blew this out of the, well, I guess it was, it was,

[00:11:51] I think it was kind of close.

[00:11:52] I don't remember, but everyone was rooting for Justin Dangerfield.

[00:11:57] He is an 18 year old.

[00:11:58] I believe that did all the house by himself,

[00:12:01] did all the decorations by himself.

[00:12:03] It's amazing.

[00:12:03] So, uh,

[00:12:04] MT contracting is going to give Justin $250 in local gift cards from area

[00:12:10] businesses.

[00:12:10] And, uh, congratulations,

[00:12:12] Justin.

[00:12:13] And then Kelly Mansell,

[00:12:15] Mansell,

[00:12:16] no Mansell,

[00:12:17] right.

[00:12:18] something like that.

[00:12:19] Um,

[00:12:19] she's already,

[00:12:20] we saw a picture of her.

[00:12:22] She went over to fair trade who sponsored the apartment door contest

[00:12:25] part and got a hundred dollar cash prize.

[00:12:29] That's fantastic.

[00:12:30] Congratulations to all the winners.

[00:12:32] And,

[00:12:33] uh,

[00:12:33] thank you.

[00:12:34] Cool beans and MT contracting and fair trade for,

[00:12:38] being sponsors.

[00:12:39] It was a lot of fun.

[00:12:40] A lot of people participate.

[00:12:42] Absolutely.

[00:12:42] Love seeing those apartment doors.

[00:12:44] Those are a lot of fun.

[00:12:46] Mabelside farms is,

[00:12:47] uh,

[00:12:47] kicking it off,

[00:12:48] right.

[00:12:48] Some weird barn caught hazards.

[00:12:51] They,

[00:12:51] uh,

[00:12:52] you got to move it indoors when it's cold and snowy.

[00:12:54] So they got their winter schedule out now for bands starting January 24th

[00:12:59] with the diamond project ending April 4th.

[00:13:02] Will that be the end of snow?

[00:13:03] April 4th.

[00:13:05] Uh,

[00:13:05] with post room like it right now.

[00:13:07] And then a lot of bands in between ones I've heard of like breakfast club,

[00:13:11] boater head,

[00:13:12] spasmatics,

[00:13:13] disco inferno,

[00:13:14] a couple I haven't heard of,

[00:13:15] but I'm sure they're fantastic.

[00:13:17] So check out Mabelside farms for their winter schedule.

[00:13:21] Yeah.

[00:13:21] A lot of those things,

[00:13:22] uh,

[00:13:22] sell out.

[00:13:23] So make sure you get your tickets early.

[00:13:25] Yeah.

[00:13:25] Let's see what else we got here.

[00:13:29] This is,

[00:13:30] you might as well talk about this because I don't get this.

[00:13:32] I've never had it and I don't get it,

[00:13:34] but there's a lot of people that were interested in this.

[00:13:37] So yeah,

[00:13:37] the brew cattle,

[00:13:38] uh,

[00:13:38] brought back,

[00:13:39] uh,

[00:13:40] three of their classics.

[00:13:41] Uh,

[00:13:42] only one that I remember,

[00:13:43] which is the barbecue spaghetti,

[00:13:45] which,

[00:13:45] you know,

[00:13:46] sounds a little off,

[00:13:47] but,

[00:13:48] uh,

[00:13:48] you know,

[00:13:48] if you think of skyline chili,

[00:13:50] uh,

[00:13:51] it's like that,

[00:13:52] but with,

[00:13:52] uh,

[00:13:52] a more barbecue flavor to it.

[00:13:55] And,

[00:13:55] uh,

[00:13:56] by golly,

[00:13:56] it's fantastic.

[00:13:57] So I'm excited that that's back as they kick off their 30 years of unique food.

[00:14:03] Wow.

[00:14:03] Which,

[00:14:04] you know,

[00:14:04] it's from 1995.

[00:14:06] So when you think of it that way,

[00:14:07] that doesn't seem that long,

[00:14:08] but when you say 30 years,

[00:14:09] that is long.

[00:14:10] So that's,

[00:14:11] uh,

[00:14:11] one of their January specials.

[00:14:13] I'm not ruling it out,

[00:14:14] but yeah.

[00:14:15] The other two is a meatloaf grinder and a buffalo chicken salad.

[00:14:19] The buffalo chicken salad looks pretty good.

[00:14:21] And I don't say that much about salads.

[00:14:23] All right.

[00:14:24] Let's head over to Roger at Houndstown.

[00:14:26] He's got,

[00:14:27] uh,

[00:14:27] the dog of the week.

[00:14:29] Hey,

[00:14:29] Lucas and Kimberly,

[00:14:30] it's Roger from Houndstown.

[00:14:32] Happy new year.

[00:14:33] Hopefully your,

[00:14:34] uh,

[00:14:34] your new year is off to a good start,

[00:14:36] even though it's a little chilly outside.

[00:14:38] This week we have Samuel with us from Brea Animal Rescue.

[00:14:42] He's actually been with us before.

[00:14:43] Um,

[00:14:44] he's a three-year-old,

[00:14:45] uh,

[00:14:45] male mixed breed.

[00:14:47] And,

[00:14:48] uh,

[00:14:48] he does so good with the other pups when he's here,

[00:14:52] um,

[00:14:52] in the different packs that he plays in.

[00:14:54] Um,

[00:14:55] and we would love to hopefully help find him his forever home this week.

[00:14:59] So,

[00:15:00] if anybody's interested in,

[00:15:02] uh,

[00:15:02] learning more about Samuel or doing a meet and greet,

[00:15:05] you can reach out to us here at Houndstown.

[00:15:07] 3 3 0 4 6 0 3 0 5 2.

[00:15:11] You can ask also go to our Houndstown Cleveland,

[00:15:14] Brunswick Facebook page to see information on him or go to Brea Animal,

[00:15:18] the Brea Animal Rescue site to see information,

[00:15:21] not only on Samuel,

[00:15:22] but the other dogs and cats that they have up for adoption.

[00:15:25] Um,

[00:15:26] again,

[00:15:26] we would love to hopefully,

[00:15:28] uh,

[00:15:28] find him his forever home this week.

[00:15:30] If anybody's interested,

[00:15:31] please do let us know.

[00:15:32] And,

[00:15:33] um,

[00:15:33] also remember we are here 365 days.

[00:15:37] We do doggy daycare Monday through Friday,

[00:15:41] 7,

[00:15:41] 8 to 7 P and Saturdays,

[00:15:43] 8 to 4 for doggy daycare.

[00:15:45] So if anybody had a new addition over the holidays from Santa and has a new pup,

[00:15:49] um,

[00:15:50] they do have to be four months old to come in to,

[00:15:52] uh,

[00:15:52] for daycare and up to date on their rabies,

[00:15:55] distemper and Bordetella vaccines.

[00:15:56] But we would love to have anybody who's not been in to check us out,

[00:15:59] come in to check us out.

[00:16:00] And we do give you a free day as well.

[00:16:01] So hopefully again,

[00:16:03] we can find Samuel,

[00:16:04] his forever home.

[00:16:04] Everybody have a great weekend and we will be back at you next week with another pup from Brea Animal Rescue.

[00:16:09] Take care.

[00:16:10] Oh my gosh.

[00:16:12] Another cutie,

[00:16:14] another cutie.

[00:16:15] So if you're interested in that dog,

[00:16:17] contact,

[00:16:17] uh,

[00:16:18] Houndstown or Brea Animal Rescue and give that little one a home,

[00:16:23] please.

[00:16:23] Yeah.

[00:16:24] Please.

[00:16:25] So I don't have to get another one.

[00:16:27] All right.

[00:16:28] How about things to do in the 212?

[00:16:31] I'll start this off for us,

[00:16:32] uh,

[00:16:33] with a,

[00:16:34] uh,

[00:16:36] what you going to do in your house?

[00:16:37] I'll draw,

[00:16:37] brother.

[00:16:39] Uh,

[00:16:40] so,

[00:16:40] uh,

[00:16:41] Ohio state is in the,

[00:16:42] in the,

[00:16:42] in the college ball playoffs.

[00:16:44] The,

[00:16:44] uh,

[00:16:45] going to be playing this Friday,

[00:16:47] 7 PM.

[00:16:48] And there's a couple of places,

[00:16:49] uh,

[00:16:50] that are doing things for it.

[00:16:51] First one,

[00:16:52] we're going back to the brew kettle.

[00:16:53] They've got,

[00:16:54] uh,

[00:16:54] the street team appearing from seven to 9 PM,

[00:16:57] uh,

[00:16:57] with games,

[00:16:58] giveaways and real American beer on draft.

[00:17:01] Real American beer is,

[00:17:02] uh,

[00:17:03] the Hulk Hogan beer.

[00:17:04] It's a very,

[00:17:04] uh,

[00:17:05] I was going to say that.

[00:17:06] That sounds like I was seriously just going to say that.

[00:17:09] Yeah.

[00:17:09] It's a very,

[00:17:09] uh,

[00:17:11] sessionable beer.

[00:17:12] You know what that means?

[00:17:13] You're not a beer drunker.

[00:17:14] It's,

[00:17:15] uh,

[00:17:15] it's crushable.

[00:17:16] It means you can,

[00:17:16] it means you can drink them all night long.

[00:17:18] And,

[00:17:19] uh,

[00:17:19] uh,

[00:17:20] you know,

[00:17:20] there's some beers you can only have one or maybe two before you like it.

[00:17:24] I got to switch.

[00:17:25] Is it alcohol content?

[00:17:26] Uh,

[00:17:27] it is a low,

[00:17:27] no,

[00:17:28] it's a low alcohol content.

[00:17:29] It's down there with,

[00:17:30] uh,

[00:17:31] like a bush light.

[00:17:32] I think it's a 4.2 or 4.1%,

[00:17:35] which is pretty low.

[00:17:37] Mad dog.

[00:17:38] Mad dog 2020.

[00:17:39] That's a low alcohol content.

[00:17:41] Yeah.

[00:17:41] No,

[00:17:42] that's more.

[00:17:43] But,

[00:17:44] uh,

[00:17:44] I'm such a drinker.

[00:17:45] I'll stick with the food.

[00:17:46] But,

[00:17:47] uh,

[00:17:47] you can check them out,

[00:17:48] uh,

[00:17:49] in the cotton bowl this Friday at 7 PM.

[00:17:52] And,

[00:17:53] uh,

[00:17:53] you know what?

[00:17:54] At halftime,

[00:17:55] you could head over to the other watch party over at Ignite Brewery.

[00:18:01] They've got,

[00:18:01] you're the beer guy.

[00:18:02] Yeah,

[00:18:02] I know.

[00:18:03] That's why I just went right into the next one.

[00:18:05] Yeah.

[00:18:05] They've got,

[00:18:06] uh,

[00:18:06] their Scarlet Pints,

[00:18:07] which is,

[00:18:08] uh,

[00:18:08] Ohio State,

[00:18:09] uh,

[00:18:09] beers.

[00:18:10] Two for 11 during the game.

[00:18:12] Now those beers are,

[00:18:13] uh,

[00:18:14] a higher alcohol content.

[00:18:17] I believe those are up there at like,

[00:18:19] uh,

[00:18:19] 4.8.

[00:18:20] So still not,

[00:18:20] not crazy.

[00:18:22] Uh,

[00:18:22] and then they,

[00:18:23] that one is,

[00:18:24] um,

[00:18:24] it's like a toffee caramel.

[00:18:27] What?

[00:18:27] Yeah.

[00:18:28] It's an Irish,

[00:18:28] it's an Irish red ale.

[00:18:30] It's pretty good.

[00:18:31] Dark,

[00:18:31] like real dark.

[00:18:32] Uh,

[00:18:32] no,

[00:18:33] no red.

[00:18:34] Just like,

[00:18:35] uh,

[00:18:35] just like it sounds.

[00:18:36] Yeah.

[00:18:36] It's a good beer.

[00:18:38] And then they also have $10 flat black.

[00:18:40] Uh,

[00:18:40] flat bleds.

[00:18:41] Fat.

[00:18:42] Fat.

[00:18:43] Yeah.

[00:18:43] Say it.

[00:18:44] Flat breads that you can enjoy.

[00:18:47] Oh my gosh.

[00:18:47] If you have not tried their flat breads,

[00:18:49] you are missing out.

[00:18:51] They are so good.

[00:18:52] So if you're into,

[00:18:54] uh,

[00:18:55] watching the game,

[00:18:56] head over to Ignite Brewing and just try one of their flat breads.

[00:19:00] Just trust me.

[00:19:01] Trust me.

[00:19:02] Oh my gosh.

[00:19:03] So good.

[00:19:04] Um,

[00:19:05] and then you can roll over and get on the mat and,

[00:19:09] and I really think I need to go to this one.

[00:19:12] Actually,

[00:19:13] grace and gratitude yoga is having another Zen AF.

[00:19:18] Um,

[00:19:19] actually you could do this before you go and eat because it starts at six o'clock on Friday,

[00:19:23] the 10th,

[00:19:25] um,

[00:19:26] tomorrow.

[00:19:26] And,

[00:19:27] uh,

[00:19:27] rescheduled.

[00:19:28] I think it was because,

[00:19:29] uh,

[00:19:30] of the weather probably.

[00:19:32] I think so.

[00:19:32] But it says you will bend,

[00:19:35] breathe and release all the frustration that life throws your way.

[00:19:38] Isn't your average yoga class.

[00:19:39] It's a fierce 18 and over session designed to help you unleash your inner Zen warrior.

[00:19:45] Um,

[00:19:45] no judgment,

[00:19:46] no shushing,

[00:19:47] just,

[00:19:48] just raw unfiltered yoga that meets you exactly where you are.

[00:19:53] Embrace the chaos,

[00:19:55] harness the rage,

[00:19:56] and leave feeling empowered,

[00:19:58] centered,

[00:19:58] and utterly Zen AF.

[00:20:01] Uh,

[00:20:01] and there is a warning.

[00:20:02] There's a disclaimer down here.

[00:20:03] Did you see that?

[00:20:04] No.

[00:20:05] Yeah.

[00:20:05] It says warning.

[00:20:06] Expect loud music,

[00:20:07] unfiltered emotions,

[00:20:09] and a judgment-free zone where you can be your authentic fiery self.

[00:20:11] Strong language and badass attitude required.

[00:20:14] Dang.

[00:20:15] Okay.

[00:20:15] Like it.

[00:20:16] It doesn't sound like yoga at all.

[00:20:17] It's not like the yoga I know.

[00:20:19] Although I don't know much yoga anyways.

[00:20:21] You know what we need is like a rage room just to go with that.

[00:20:26] Like,

[00:20:27] go to,

[00:20:27] or do a rage room first and then go to yoga.

[00:20:29] See?

[00:20:30] Yeah.

[00:20:30] Ladies over at Grace and Gratitude,

[00:20:32] I just gave you your next marketing plan.

[00:20:34] There you go.

[00:20:35] You're welcome.

[00:20:36] All right.

[00:20:37] What else we got here?

[00:20:38] In-person tax preparation or drop-off.

[00:20:42] Offered free by,

[00:20:43] it's tax time.

[00:20:45] Offered free by the Medina Office of United Way of Summit and Medina Counties.

[00:20:49] So you can reach out to them.

[00:20:52] I think it's for...

[00:20:53] Less than 67,000 in the household.

[00:20:57] Yeah.

[00:20:57] Okay.

[00:20:57] I think that's what it said.

[00:20:58] Low-income households can have their taxes prepared free of charge through that organization.

[00:21:04] So check them out.

[00:21:05] You do need to bring some stuff with you.

[00:21:06] And there's a list of all the stuff that you need to bring under uwsummitmedina.org.

[00:21:14] So unitedwaysummitmedina.org.

[00:21:18] You can find the list of things that you need to do.

[00:21:20] All right.

[00:21:21] Let's see.

[00:21:23] Saturday?

[00:21:23] Yeah.

[00:21:24] This is Saturday.

[00:21:25] 11 to close at Applebee's.

[00:21:27] It's a Dine to Donate event.

[00:21:29] Applebee's will donate 15% of your check to Buckeye Mission.

[00:21:33] So for those of you that have been under a rock and don't know what Buckeye Mission is, it's a local.

[00:21:40] It's at the corner of 303 and Substation.

[00:21:43] And they do doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, and also their rescue.

[00:21:49] Yeah.

[00:21:50] So the rescue part being a lot of what they do.

[00:21:54] So again, that's Saturday from 11 to close at Applebee's over in Town Center.

[00:21:59] Yeah.

[00:22:00] Yeah.

[00:22:00] And Applebee's has a deal going on right now with a burger or chicken sandwich with fries and a beverage for $9.99.

[00:22:09] And then they also have half-price appetizers before dinner and after dinner.

[00:22:15] I forget what the times are specifically.

[00:22:17] And if you haven't tried their chicken tacos.

[00:22:19] Well, all right.

[00:22:20] Have you had those?

[00:22:21] I have not.

[00:22:22] No.

[00:22:22] Oh my gosh.

[00:22:23] So good.

[00:22:25] Love how I'm just going through this episode and telling everybody what to eat.

[00:22:30] All right.

[00:22:31] Let's talk about food over at Gandalf's Pub in Valley City.

[00:22:36] But they're also going to have live music Saturday night at 730 with Lego.

[00:22:42] Is it Lego?

[00:22:43] Lego.

[00:22:43] Yeah, I think so.

[00:22:44] Yeah.

[00:22:46] Lego Legros, maybe?

[00:22:49] Lego Legros?

[00:22:50] Yeah, I guess.

[00:22:52] I don't know.

[00:22:52] God bless you.

[00:22:55] Anyway, go check them out.

[00:22:57] Live music Saturday at 730 over at Gandalf's and check out their menu.

[00:23:01] It says a night of mirth and merriment with the legend of the Northern Hemisphere.

[00:23:07] Wow.

[00:23:08] Now that's a billing.

[00:23:09] Yeah.

[00:23:11] No pressure there.

[00:23:12] No.

[00:23:13] Right.

[00:23:14] Also that night at Manzo's, 830 p.m. is Shadow of a Doubt.

[00:23:18] This is a Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker tribute band.

[00:23:22] All the hits from solo music and Mud Crutch and Travelin' Wilburys.

[00:23:28] If you're a Teddy fan, they have plenty of deep cuts for you as well.

[00:23:33] And of course, Manzo's has the delicious booze, baby.

[00:23:36] Right.

[00:23:37] Good stuff, Maynard.

[00:23:38] Still a lot to do.

[00:23:38] I thought things were going to die down after the first of the year, but it's mostly indoor.

[00:23:43] Yeah.

[00:23:44] We probably skipped our quiet part and being off the last couple of weeks.

[00:23:49] But this Sunday, if you are a student, boys and girls grades K through 8, who would like to try lacrosse, try it out.

[00:24:01] See if you like it.

[00:24:02] But coaches and youth from the organization of Brunswick Lacrosse will be at Sharpen Skills Training, which is over across from St. Ambrose, I think, right?

[00:24:13] Yep.

[00:24:14] Yep.

[00:24:14] Yep.

[00:24:14] Yep, yep, yep.

[00:24:15] So that is from 1 to 2 Sunday.

[00:24:19] Just show up.

[00:24:20] I don't think you need to sign up or anything.

[00:24:23] But they're having one on the 12th.

[00:24:24] They're also having one on the 19th.

[00:24:26] And we'll remind you about that again next week.

[00:24:27] But thinking about doing something for, you know, getting the kids involved in something different, then have them go try lacrosse.

[00:24:34] Yeah.

[00:24:34] And it's free.

[00:24:35] And they're not going to do any contact that day.

[00:24:38] So you don't need helmets or pads or to be worried about, you know, whether you're.

[00:24:43] Yeah, no equipment.

[00:24:44] They'll have all that stuff for you.

[00:24:45] So just go check it out again Sunday from 1 to 2 over at Sharpen Skills Training.

[00:24:50] Yeah.

[00:24:51] 970 April Road is the official address there.

[00:24:54] Right.

[00:24:55] If you need a number.

[00:24:56] And then the Hoppy Dude Brew over in Hinkley is having their second annual chili cook-off that same day from 2 to 4 p.m.

[00:25:04] That's Sunday, January 12th.

[00:25:05] And it's $5 to judge.

[00:25:08] So if you're looking to try some chilies, you can head over there from 2 to 4 and check that out.

[00:25:14] Yeah.

[00:25:14] You can enter for $10.

[00:25:17] And there's a cash prize for first and second place.

[00:25:19] So if you want to get your best shot, then give them a buzz.

[00:25:23] Here's one for outdoors.

[00:25:25] What do we got?

[00:25:26] Oh.

[00:25:27] It's too cold.

[00:25:29] Are you kidding me?

[00:25:29] Sunday night from 5 to 7, they want you to come and walk around Hinkley Lake.

[00:25:34] That's all I'm going to say.

[00:25:35] Yeah.

[00:25:36] Nat Naturalist Pam Taylor will guide you around the lake as the nearly full moon rises in the sky.

[00:25:43] You certainly won't see a wolf.

[00:25:44] You have 11 butts off.

[00:25:46] Yeah.

[00:25:46] You may hear a coyote howling.

[00:25:49] And you may hear me.

[00:25:50] You may hear my teeth chattering.

[00:25:53] Ratings hit.

[00:25:54] If that's what you're into.

[00:25:56] That's available.

[00:25:58] Well, you know, your wife might be into something like that.

[00:26:01] I don't know.

[00:26:02] Maybe.

[00:26:02] That's just, that's a little too much for me.

[00:26:04] She ain't dragging me out for that, though.

[00:26:06] Yeah.

[00:26:07] I'll pass.

[00:26:08] I'll pass.

[00:26:10] Don't forget over at the REC, thinking of warmer things.

[00:26:15] Let's go back to, you know, beaches and stuff like that.

[00:26:19] Okay.

[00:26:19] It's not a beach, but it's a splash party.

[00:26:22] January 20th.

[00:26:23] It's a free event over at the REC Center.

[00:26:25] Music, light appetizers, beverages, and fun.

[00:26:28] Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent.

[00:26:31] No pre-registration required.

[00:26:33] The event is from 4 to 6.

[00:26:35] Again, that's January 20th.

[00:26:37] If you need any more information, feel free to give the REC Center a call.

[00:26:41] But it's a free event.

[00:26:43] I'm going to go in my jammies, I think, because Taylor listens to us every week.

[00:26:48] And I always have to say something about being in my jammies and going to the REC.

[00:26:52] So, Taylor, this is another.

[00:26:54] I'll show up in my jammies if you show up in your jammies, Taylor.

[00:26:58] That's a throwdown.

[00:26:59] I'm throwing down the, what do they say?

[00:27:01] The challenge.

[00:27:02] Challenge?

[00:27:03] Yeah.

[00:27:05] There's some open swimming pajamas?

[00:27:07] Yes.

[00:27:09] Those old ladies can do it.

[00:27:11] A couple months ago.

[00:27:12] Did you say the date on that?

[00:27:14] January 20th?

[00:27:15] Yeah, January 20th.

[00:27:16] Pay attention.

[00:27:17] You're not listening.

[00:27:18] I'm sorry.

[00:27:19] I'm sorry.

[00:27:19] I'm sorry.

[00:27:20] What else we got going on?

[00:27:21] We got back at Hoppy Dudes, we have Music Bingo.

[00:27:25] Wednesday, January 15th, the 22nd, and every Wednesday.

[00:27:29] It's easy and fun to play.

[00:27:31] Multiple prizes awarded each round, and it's absolutely free to play.

[00:27:35] That starts at 7 p.m. every Wednesday.

[00:27:37] All right.

[00:27:37] Bingo, yes, for VNL.

[00:27:39] That I can handle, right?

[00:27:40] Yeah.

[00:27:42] Diamond Event Center is going to be kicking off their dances.

[00:27:46] Their annual first one up is a father-daughter dance.

[00:27:49] As always, all family dynamics are welcome.

[00:27:52] So, grandpa, stepdad, friend, whatever.

[00:27:57] Saturday, February 15th, from 6 to 8.30.

[00:28:01] It is $25 per person and includes inner, a DJ, dancing, games, photo ops, throughout the ballroom.

[00:28:09] Yeah.

[00:28:10] Yeah.

[00:28:10] So, you know, if mom wants to take you, it's all in.

[00:28:15] All in.

[00:28:16] So, they do a really nice job with these dances.

[00:28:18] And so, this is the first one, now that they're done with their Santa thing.

[00:28:22] Go check them out for Saturday, February 15th.

[00:28:25] I'm sure that'll sell out, too.

[00:28:27] Yeah.

[00:28:28] And then, I think last but not least, we have January 18th.

[00:28:31] The Brunswick Valkyries rugby team is doing a try-on rugby free camp.

[00:28:39] Check-ins at 1245.

[00:28:40] The camp is from 1 to 4.

[00:28:42] It's just introductory and immediate, intermediate skills.

[00:28:46] Ball techniques, agility exercises, and just some fun and games.

[00:28:50] Just to see if you're interested in rugby.

[00:28:52] It's kind of like a combination between soccer and football.

[00:28:55] And I can't even explain it.

[00:28:56] My daughter plays rugby.

[00:28:58] And it's a good time.

[00:29:00] That one's definitely a contact sport.

[00:29:03] I don't know if they'll be doing it that day.

[00:29:04] Probably not.

[00:29:05] But it's open to grades kindergarten through 12.

[00:29:08] And students from all local schools and districts are welcome.

[00:29:12] Yeah.

[00:29:12] And that's probably a good thing to reiterate that the kindergartners don't tackle.

[00:29:16] Right.

[00:29:16] So, if you're under junior high age, you do play flag.

[00:29:23] Right?

[00:29:23] Is that what they still call it?

[00:29:24] I believe so.

[00:29:25] Yeah.

[00:29:26] Yeah.

[00:29:26] When they wear those.

[00:29:29] So, I think it's really cool that they're doing these little camps so the kids can go and try it out.

[00:29:34] You know, maybe they like it.

[00:29:36] Maybe they don't.

[00:29:37] That kind of thing.

[00:29:37] So, that's cool.

[00:29:39] So, it's really better.

[00:29:40] Yeah.

[00:29:41] That is it.

[00:29:42] But let's roll out with some pictures of, this was one of my favorite posts while we were out where somebody said, hey, show us your dog playing in the snow.

[00:29:50] I think we had over 100 dogs pictures here.

[00:29:53] So, I just wanted to roll out to that.

[00:29:56] That's a good one.

[00:29:57] All right, Brunswick.

[00:29:58] We will see you.

[00:29:59] That's a wrap.

[00:30:00] Happy New Year.

[00:30:01] We're glad everybody is back with us.

[00:30:04] If not, invite a friend so they can be with us going into the new year.

[00:30:09] We really want to kick this year off straight.

[00:30:12] So, we will talk to you guys soon.

[00:30:15] You got anything else?

[00:30:16] Nope.

[00:30:16] That's it.

[00:30:17] 2025.

[00:30:18] Let's go.
