[00:01:15] to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly. Okay. What? We're live. Now?

[00:01:45] Yeah, it's October 28th. What happened to the countdown? You didn't give me like 3, 2, 1. We're live. I'm not ready yet. I said are you ready, you said yeah. Okay. Hi. Pumpkin season is winding down. The treatings this week. Pretty soon it'll be peppermints. How do you feel about all this? Like winding down already?

[00:02:12] I cannot believe it's November next Sunday. It's ridiculous. October flew by. Just ridiculous. Redunculus. But anyway, well, we're here to let you know what's happening now, what's happening then, all that fun stuff, right? That's correct. All right, I think I'm ready now. You have my full attention. All right. Let's get going. All right.

[00:02:43] Pasture to Plate opened up at Market 42. They sell 100% all natural, never given hormones, antibiotic free, steroid free meat. Grass fed. Grass fed meat. So, people asked for a produce stand. We have a produce stand. People asked for a deli. We have a deli. People asked for a butcher. We have a butcher. Well, kind of a butcher. We have meat. We have meat. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:03:13] Meat. Meat. Chicken, beef, and a bunch of other all natural. Oh, butter, eggs. What else? I'm trying to think. Oh, peanut butter. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Oh, milk. Thanks. Thanks for playing that. Yeah. Now I get it. Yeah, a lot of people don't know that Gray's Deli is a full service deli. Selling meat by the pound at very comparable prices to the stores.

[00:03:41] Well, it's right there in the case. They just got to look. Well, true. True. Had my first steak though from pasture. And? You can tell the difference. Yeah. Good stuff. Good stuff. That's right. All right. So everything's there now that you guys wanted pretty much. So. Do it. Go check them out. Support them. It's what you wanted. Right? Yeah. Great. All right. The.

[00:04:12] Chef at Mapleside. New social house. Posted these mouthwatering photos and talked about how hard they've worked on creating flavorful dishes. They're still growing and learning. And he invited everybody out. I've been out once. My wife went out last night with her girlfriends. I saw her table. Yeah. It was full. Yeah. That was their only, that was their only complaint. They said, I'm too small of a table.

[00:04:39] They should have like a little side table that they bring as you have the overflow. Yeah. They said everything was delicious and they had a great, great time. They said their drinks were very strong. Well worth the price. So. I can't wait to go back. Good stuff. I'm ready. I'm ready. Look at that. Wow. Right? That does look good. Yeah. What is that? A cobbler or something? Looks like it. Apple cobbler. Of course. Probably. Why'd that come on the screen? Get out of there. I don't know.

[00:05:11] All right. Moving right along. If it'll let me. What are you doing? It won't let me close the tab. My. Are you new? Yeah. Yeah. All right. So, you know, we approve, we approve group posts and every now and then people try and post a humorous post that's not quite related to Brunswick. Right. And, um, sometimes they're relevant to Brunswick.

[00:05:41] Uh, you know, I think it really comes down to whether it makes me laugh. Right? Yeah. I don't know how you, I don't know how you, how you decide. Well, you know how I do about the, the, uh, parking ones. Yeah. You know, we had one of those today. Oh yeah. Yeah. I'm like, no, no. Uh, but Paige posted this one. Where are you from? Ohio. What part of Ohio? Brunswick. What's it by? Strongsville, Medina, Hinckley, et cetera. Huh? Cleveland. Cleveland. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. LeBron James is my father.

[00:06:11] That is good. Uh, so. I like it. Yeah. Well done. So don't stop trying to post them, but they have to make me laugh to get in. Sorry. Yeah. We kind of have that. What is it? Um, I don't know. Nevermind. Moving on. It'll come back. Anyway, Ollie's is hiring. Mm hmm.

[00:06:36] So if you are looking for a job, head on over to Ollie's dot com and you can apply there. Um, competitive benefits, it says for one key matching, uh, career advancement opportunities. Oh, and you get a discount. 20%. That's pretty good. Yeah. And if you get a job there, let Lucas and I know so we can get the 20%. Yeah, buddy. Right. All right.

[00:07:05] Mm hmm. More jobs available. Uh, also hiring family farm and home is looking for a, um, store manager, receiver, team lead, assembler, and team members full and part time positions available. Brunswick location only apply on their corporate website. Um, or indeed their family owned company. And just remember when we post these two, this is like one of my number one. What is it? What is it called? You have like a peeve. Yes.

[00:07:34] Thank you. Well, it's all right. It's one of my number ones. Mm hmm. There's several number ones, but don't put in the comments that you're interested when it tells you to go to the website or tells you exactly how. Yeah. Because then you're going to hear me say, um, one of the first things an employer looks for is if you can follow basic directions. Right? Right. I mean, you've done some hiring in your day, right? Uh huh. So. All right. But anyway.

[00:08:05] I don't know what happened to our camera of us. That's all right. Yeah. They don't need to see us. We're fine. We're fine. You don't need to see us. Pay attention to the screen. Anyway, um, wooden nickel is now open on Sundays. So you can go and watch the Browns game. Yeah. They're open 12 to six. And this week we play the Steelers. We do. And we're in first place in the division. That's so weird. I want to be happy for us, but I'm not. I can't. Why not?

[00:08:34] Well, cause I'm not a fan of the quarterback. Oh. Okay. I know, but. All right. I'll just watch with one eye closed. All right. Good food over there at the wooden nickel too. Very good. Uh, Panini's is having trivia night every Wednesday from eight to 10 PM. It's free to play plus wine specials all day long. Enjoy dollar off glasses of wine and 50% off bottles. What? What? 50% off. What? What?

[00:09:04] How, how, how expensive is their wine? Do they get 50% off? What is going on here? I don't know. I was like, okay, maybe they typed it wrong up here. And then I went down here and, uh, sure as stuff. 50% off. One dollar off glasses of wine and 50% off bottles. Yeah. It says it right there. It must be true if you read it on Facebook. But will it get to the, not Boons. It's not Boons anymore. It's, Oh, the Aldi. No, my winking owl from Aldi.

[00:09:31] My sweet red winking owl from Aldi is only like $5 a bottle. So, but might have to go check that out. That's every Wednesday from eight to 10. Yeah. Over at Panini's. I don't know. How many bottles can you drink in two hours? Just one. Just one. Just one. Uh, I wonder if there's to go bottles. I think they can be, I don't know. I don't know. Recork it or not. Bring your own recorker. It is a, um, they are, are they in the, um. They're in Dora. They're in the Dora.

[00:10:00] So you can walk around the lake and just keep drinking from the bottle. Well, I think you have to pour the bottle. Oh, you have to put it in the cup. You have to pour the bottle into the cup. You have to have the cup. So you have the bottle in one hand and the cup in the other hand? Is that how you do it? It's a little bit of work. You have to get several cups and stack them into the bottle, cut out the bottom. I don't know. There's always a way around it. Yeah. We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. We'll talk to the law department. Um, Brunswick Early Child PTA is having a Dine to Donate tomorrow, which is Thursday

[00:10:28] the 29th from 4 to 7 PM at Rosati's. It's the location formerly known as Honey Hut. You know we don't say that. It's the location formerly known as Honey Hut. But you can stop by there and support Brunswick Early Childhood PTA. Um, and, um, part of your, part of your purchase will, uh, go to Rosati's. And I just saw. It won't go to Rosati's. It'll go to Brunswick Early Childhood PTA. Go to Brunswick Early Childhood PTA. Um. I threw you off, didn't I?

[00:10:58] Yeah. I'm sorry. That's all right. That's all right. And then I noticed, um, I don't have a graphic for this, but Wayland's, um, is doing their 12 Days of Christmas ice cream again. And we did that last year where you purchase 12 ice creams that come in a box and in each in their separate containers. And I think they came with tiny spoons too. If not, get yourself some tiny spoons. Uh, and it became an instance, uh, tradition for my family. So we'll be doing that again. Yeah. So I did it last year. Mm.

[00:11:27] And then I noticed this year it was more expensive, but then I read it and you get double the amount of ice cream. I mean, we could have went for a little bit more, but I thought, uh, I thought it was decent. Well, you've got a couple of people with spoons in each one probably. Yeah. You know? Yeah. But it's still a great deal and it's still a lot of fun. Mm-hmm. So if your family loves ice cream, definitely check it out. There was some really interesting ones in there that. Yeah. And that's over at Wayland's, not the location normally, formerly known as Honey Hut.

[00:11:56] Wayland's over at Market 42. Yeah. Since I was told this week I, I promote them too much. So. Yeah. That's what they said. One person said that. Well, they got a lot of places. I mean. They do. So, I mean, if we're promoting. There's like 20 some places in there. Plus, I mean, I go through events on Facebook. I go through, um, Eventbrite. I go through all kinds of places and most of the events right now that I can find are at Market 42. Right.

[00:12:22] So, I mean, if there's other businesses that want us to promote them harder or, um. Yeah. Just reach out to us. Reach out. Let us know. We are, uh. And make an event on Facebook. Yeah. Because that's how we find a lot of them. So. The darn camera froze again. What is going on here? I don't know. I don't know. Yeah. Make an event. I mean, making an event on Facebook is very important because people can click, um, interested and then they get a reminder. I get a reminder.

[00:12:52] And it's coming up. Yep. I click interested on everything so that I can remember to talk about it or that it's coming up in case I want to do something tonight. What do I want to do tonight? Oh, let's go through my ones that I click interested. You can add it to your, um, your calendar, your Google calendar, your, uh, Apple calendar, your, uh, Outlook calendar real easy by just clicking add to calendar. So yeah. A lot of them are made so far in advance that you'll forget about it unless you hit interested on there. Yeah.

[00:13:19] So posting it with a, with information is, is okay, but people don't really take the time to go, okay, let me put that on my calendar. Right. Unless there's a post. So businesses, that's a good one. Right, right, right, right. Oh, what do we got here? So speaking of events, um, the backyard is having trivia tomorrow night at 615. Um, it might be every Thursday. It was what it kind of looks like there.

[00:13:47] So, um, if you're smarter than Lucas and I, which most of you probably are, um, we highly suggest you go check out trivia. No, you get the trivia better than I do, but you know, I'm not very good at it, but anyway, Thursday night, backyard every Thursday, 615. Mm-hmm. Uh, this one is for the seniors. Kimberly?

[00:14:13] Uh, you can attend a free Hocus Pocus event for seniors on October 30th. Uh, they conjured up the Sanderson sisters to entertain you on Friday, uh, October 30th. They'll magically appear at 1215 in room one of the rec center where they'll screen the classic movie Hocus Pocus. Join them for laughs, yummy treats if you're 55 and over. Space is limited, so please call or stop in and sign up with Sue at the Medina County Senior

[00:14:39] Adult Services office at the rec Monday through Friday from nine to one. I didn't know, uh, the Medina County Senior Adult Services had an office at the rec center, but, uh, it could be where that, um, silver sneakers office was right inside the door on the right. So, and yeah, some 55 and over. Thank you very much, but I have a job, so I can't come during the day. This is for the older seniors. Oh, wow, wow. Anyway, moving right along. What is this? Last one?

[00:15:09] Uh, this is Spooky Fest. This is the last one of the season. I think we warned you guys last week that it was coming up. So, um, this is it. Um, this is it. The last, uh, fall festival over at Mapleside and, um, starts Friday at four o'clock and it is Spooky Fest and it'll be Friday and Saturday, Friday, four to nine, Saturday, 11 to nine. Um, and fun Fridays offer discounted admission to pumpkin village.

[00:15:38] So, last chance, go check out the corn maze and the cow and pig trains and the hay rides and everything that is the super slide that I still want to see you go down. I've been down it a couple times. Have you? Yeah. Video or it didn't happen? Hmm. Lately? I was doing the video from behind, so I don't have video of it. Oh, all right. But it happened. Anyway, Mapleside Farms this weekend, last one of the fall. Yep.

[00:16:08] Uh, Bianca's is having a Halloween party and I think we're getting into a bunch of our Halloween parties around town. Yep. Buckle up. Um, so theirs is on Friday, 10 30, 7 to 12 PM. Um, they're going to have prizes for the best costume giveaways, a live band. Uh, it doesn't say who, uh, kitchen will be open until nine for their full menu and, uh, appetizer menu available after 9 PM.

[00:16:34] So grab your best costume, bring your friends, eat, drink and, uh, be scary. And that's a Friday from seven to 12. Did you come up with that by yourself? What? Eat, drink and be scary? No. Oh. Cause it arrives with Mary? Yeah. Yeah. That was really good. Yeah. All right. Moving right along. Now what? Uh, we're up here, aren't we? I don't know. You tell me. Manzo's. Right? No, not Manzo's.

[00:17:03] Uh, 1813 Pearl Road. That's the backyard. The backyard. It's a Halloween party. It's going to be Friday night. 530. Wow. Yeah. That's an early. This one's for the 55 and older. No, I'm just kidding. I'm going to beat you with my cane. I swear I'm going to beat you with my cane. Anyway, 530. Okay. On Friday, you can start at the backyard. Mm-hmm. They are going to, they encourage you to wear a costume. They're going to have live music by the big Don band and Rogue.

[00:17:34] Um, Halloween drink specials and more surprises to come. Um, and, um, grab your costume and come on in for one heck of a night, it says. Yeah. So again, backyard Friday starting at 530. Mm-hmm. Um, Manzo's Sports and Spirits is having parties both Friday and Saturday night. Uh, Friday night they have free munchies as they often do.

[00:18:02] Sometimes they have free hot dogs for games and stuff like that. And cash prizes, prizes. And Saturday night they're going to have DJ and dancing. And, uh, costume contest both nights. So you can stop in there. And, uh, you know, usually the party starts around 830 at Manzo's. Doesn't say what time this starts, but, you know, call them. I'll answer the phone. All right. Do, do, do, do, do, do. Next. Moving right along.

[00:18:32] Mm-hmm. All right. What do we got? We have, um, Charged Nutrition over in Mark's Plaza has a, um, what is it? A trick or treat. A trick or treat for, uh, I guess the entire plaza or they've set up some vendors. Um, but they. I'm not really sure how that works.

[00:18:55] But they also have, um, a dine to donate Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. for, um, Brunswick Soccer Association. You can join them, um, and every, all your purchases, 10% of it goes directly to the Brunswick Soccer Association. Um, but, uh, also from 1 to 4, they have trick or treat, visit each store for a prize.

[00:19:20] And then they have a list of vendors and, uh, free, obviously it's free entry because it's outside on the sidewalk. Um, yeah. I don't have a whole lot of. No, it doesn't have a whole lot in there. So, come support small businesses, enjoy Halloween fun. Oh, and it says each vendor will have a special goodie just for you. Like it. So, check that out. That's going to be on Halloween from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. Yep. Supposed to be a decent weekend.

[00:19:48] A little chilly, but no rain. Right. And that's good. On Halloween. So, that's good. That's good. Uh. More tricks. No, no treats. No, no tricks, but just treats over at Blend Smoothie and Bowls. Um, buy one, get one half off over there. And so, if you're craving something fresh, um, go get a smoothie or have you had their bowls? Not yet. Their bowls are really good.

[00:20:17] Not yet, but the replacement for, um, the fruit stand over at Market 42 that closed. I missed that place. So, I am looking forward to checking out their acai bowls. Is that what you call it? Yeah, acai bowls. Is that what you call it? I think. I always get it wrong. So, but anyway, check that out. That is going to be also on Halloween. Mm-hmm. And again, it's over in the Hickory Ridge Plaza, um, by Ollie's. Right. And. Right around the corner there. Mm-hmm.

[00:20:46] This one sounds fun. The Great Pumpkin Drop. Smash. Smashing Pumpkins is coming to Valley City. Mm-hmm. Uh, pumpkin smashing starts at 11 a.m. this Saturday. And, uh, pumpkin drop at 2.30 p.m. Trick-or-treat, uh, there 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. And that's at Missing Pine Farms at 5500 Sleepy Hollow in Valley City.

[00:21:15] And he has a little corn thing where the kids can sit and play in the corn. You know what I'm talking about? A sandbox. Yeah, a corn box. A corn box. Mm-hmm. So, if we're looking for something to do with the littles, that sounds like a great time, too. And since we don't have a rage room yet, you can kind of get your rage out with the pumpkins, maybe. I don't know. Nice. All right. Wood and Nickel back up on the screen for 80s trivia.

[00:21:44] And that's going to be November 2nd, 645 p.m. Um, call for reservations. Their number is on their Facebook page, so head over there and check it out. Yeah. And, uh, what day is that? November 2nd? Monday. Monday. That is also the day that the new Chick-fil-A playground opens. That's right. Mm-hmm. So. They put that together.

[00:22:12] Don't leave your kids at the playground at Chick-fil-A and go do trivia at Wood and Nickel. That's not how it works. That's not how it works. But if, uh, if it did. It could be a money maker for Chick-fil-A though. It could be very successful, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That could have been. All right. Looking ahead, December 5th, Saturday, um, a 5k. Brunswick's 5k till Christmas. First annual, it says. Mm-hmm. We forgot his name.

[00:22:41] Did we figure out his name? Alex Johnson. Thank you. Alex Johnson. Former councilman. Correct. Um, this will be at the Susan, uh, Hambly. I always say that wrong. I put an R in there. Nature Center. That's where it'll start. And, um, if you're looking for a 5k, head on over to their, uh, event page, which says Brunswick 5k till Christmas. And I'm reading here and it says, best of all proceeds will help support Brunswick marching band. Yeah.

[00:23:10] So if you're a runner and you like to run and you want to support Brunswick, um, this is the way to do it. It does look like fun. So we're going to see you there. I am not a runner. I did participate in a, uh, I think they plan to, I think they plan to. Nice. Hmm. Uh, Santa's in town, right? And, uh, they're taking pet pictures Saturday, November 14th over at Petiti Garden Center,

[00:23:37] corner of, uh, 130th and Center Road. You can get two digital shots for $15 from the, um, Brunswick photo guy. Um, this is to help support, uh, Buckeye Mission and Sanctuary. It's a no kill shelter, uh, right here in Brunswick Hills. Um, and raffle baskets will be available as well. So all dogs must be leashed cash check or Venmo.

[00:24:07] And that's from 11 to three Saturday, November 14th. Um, just in time to get that photo on your Christmas card. You still send out Christmas cards? I do not. I don't think I ever sent out Christmas cards. And that is it. What? That's it. It seemed like it was a long one. It's only 24 minutes. It did so long. What do we want to talk about? Oh, I told you that house is for sale. The one with the Huskies.

[00:24:37] The Husky drama for several years. The one, Sleepy Hollow and 130th. If you're interested in that piece of property with that home. Um, I just noticed it was for sale. Do you think they'll remember the dogs are there and take them with them? I don't think the dogs aren't there anymore. Oh. All right. They've been gone for like a year or so. I wonder if that was court ordered. I ain't going there. I don't know. I don't know. No, I don't know. But anyway. None of my business. I guess that's a bunch of useless information. Okay. But I don't know.

[00:25:06] Hey, maybe somebody wants to buy a house. So, uh, the city rejected the county's, um, trash. I don't know. What's it called? Plan. Um, because they want our holler rump key to be able to take their trash directly to their facilities. Um, and as the largest municipality in Medina County, they have the right to reject it.

[00:25:28] Now, uh, the Ohio EPA writes a new plan, um, that's hopefully amicable for the both parties. So that's exciting. Uh, leaf pickups going on. They picked up mine today. I didn't have to call them. I just waited patiently. Uh, that's all right. There's plenty more leaves to go down and they will make at least two trips around the city ward by ward. Uh, they try and go by to three trips around, but, uh, if it snows, it snows and they can't

[00:25:58] obviously pick up leaves. Um, so. What did you read up about? I saw it on the news today that the study again is, uh, wrapping up for the 71. Yeah. So they had a meeting, um, last night over at the Strongsville rec center and, uh, See, he's the smart one. I'm the party planner. Strongsville residents showed up in full force, uh, saying they do not want an interchange on

[00:26:25] Drake or how they don't want to widen how they don't want to do. And they don't want to do anything in Strongsville. They don't want it in Boston. They kept bringing up Boston again that they wanted on Boston because it's a Brunswick problem. Um, then the, uh, mayor Percy X said, um, it's a study and it's going to stay a study quote. Well, the last one stayed a study for 40 years.

[00:26:52] So I'm glad we wasted another, uh, $900,000 on studies. Taxpayer money. Um, to possibly do nothing. However, Brunswick said there's some improvements part of that study that may be able to move forward. Thanks to the study, like, um, extending the slip ramp to North Carpenter. Hmm. Instead of having to get over and then get back over. Um, they didn't do that because of how much money it would cost.

[00:27:19] I guess right underneath that little portion where they would have extended it is tons of utilities. Ah, so they didn't extend it. But, um, with this study, they may be able to get some grant money and, um, and do that. Well, and moving along next topic or whatever, um, you showed me where in the spring we might have paddle boats on the lake. Yes. Yeah.

[00:27:46] The, uh, Medina County Parks District controls the, um, Brunswick Lake through a contract that they, uh, Can you say that again louder, please? The Brunswick. There's somebody that might not have heard that. The Medina County Parks District controls the Brunswick Lake. So, um, trees are planted incorrectly? They should contact? Medina County Parks District. Okay, just checking. Nate Epic. Just checking. And team. Thank you.

[00:28:13] Um, but they are working on getting, um, paddle boat rentals at Brunswick Lake. So we got, we got, um, restrooms coming. Um, real restrooms, not porta-potties. There is an actual drop in place building. Let's just like Seven Brew did. You know, the building comes from over there and you just drop it on a slab of concrete. You connect the utilities. They will have running water. It will have, uh, heaters so it can remain open during the winter. And we already have the kayak launch.

[00:28:43] There's a kayak launch. Yeah. And you are requesting the swan-shaped. I want swan-shaped paddle boats. Paddle boats. Yeah, I think that'd be really cool. But you know what would be more appropriate? Cow-shaped ones. That'd be cool too. I don't know if they make those, but. Yeah. I'm sure we can figure it out. I'm sure we can figure it out. Anyway, I think that's gonna do it. We just went a little rogue trying to wrap up some other things. The end of the episode, we want to thank you guys.

[00:29:12] We got quite a number of viewers today. Yeah. But we hope you watch us on replay. Yeah. Make sure you hit subscribe. Yep. Follow. Doesn't cost you anything. Like us on Spotify, YouTube, Apple, Amazon. You can play it on Alexa. Alexa Play Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast. And let's remind everybody that even though you subscribe, it doesn't cost anything. [00:29:41] But that's okay. Sorry, Aaron. Worth it. We're still not making money. Worth it. But it's very much worth it. We like doing this. We like hearing from you guys. So if there's something that you want us to talk about or you want to talk about, just let us know. Until then, we'll see you next time. Take care, Brunswick. Bye. Bye. It's your line. Bye.
