[00:00:57] to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:01:34] We did. We did. Yep, we did. So congratulations to Tammy and her team over there at Secret at Center on Center Road where Tangled Vine used to be across from Paninis and Brunswick Lake doing great things. They want to invite everybody out tonight starting at 5 o'clock so good thing we went early. Yeah, all week long they've got stuff going on for the next week or so she said. Yeah, from 5 tonight, 5 to 8 tonight is Hayden Grove.

[00:02:04] He was on The Voice. I think he was Team Adam and he does jazz and crooning and all that good stuff. It's actually absolutely beautiful inside there. So. Totally different. Check it out. Yeah, totally, totally different. Much more cozy. So I can kind of say I've been there but I still haven't ate there. We didn't eat so. No. Well, I'll need to go back soon. Yep.

[00:02:34] But congratulations and it was great seeing the mayor and Grant and. We're already getting some heart reactions. Thank you. Thank you. You guys stopped in early. Yeah. Good. Moving on to this next one here. And speaking of Grant. I don't want to talk about it. Yeah. I don't want to talk about it. Somebody posted this on our page that they found that Dutch Brothers coffee is trying

[00:03:04] to come to Brunswick. Let me grab my human being. Hang on one second. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. So they're going to fill the former KFC on Center Road. The Brunswick one is still available or the Pearl one is still available. Nothing's going there yet. But Dutch Brothers is a I guess it's it's a national chain, but nowhere around here. Anywhere around here. Nope. Cincinnati, the far east side of Ohio. Sorry. Sorry.

[00:03:34] Far west side of Ohio. I would love to know what they're thinking was like, we don't have anything in this part of the state. Right. Let's pick someplace that already has seven drive throughs. I put it right there. Well, I mean, competition. Nope. No, no, it's an excellent spot because it's happy about right getting onto the highway.

[00:03:57] It's to the east of North Carpenter, North Carpenter. So all those people getting on the highway in the morning now have an option. Nope. But coffee galore, pizza galore. I mean, if you think about it, when was the last time a pizza place closed other than the one inside Market 42? So good point. There's businesses out there and Brunswick must love their coffee.

[00:04:27] So they're working through the planning commission, but I don't see any issues the way they wouldn't be able to come. And I would expect them probably next year sometime. Then maybe the city can put a moratorium on those? On a coffee shop? Yeah. No, I don't know if they'll do that. I don't think they'll do that. But yeah, it's a remodel. Right. There's going to be a walk up window. There's going to be a long drive through that goes around so I don't see any issue with

[00:04:54] it going into the street. And there's spots to park for them to bring your mobile order on too. Hmm. So. Still not excited. Hmm. Sorry. A couple people were though. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I actually knew about this October 4th. Yeah. A while ago. But I didn't want to say anything yet. So I kind of posted a if we had another coffee shop and Dutch Brothers was up there with

[00:05:22] Bigsby and what were some of the other ones that they wanted that we don't have caribou. So, you know, maybe we'll get a Bigsby and a caribou next year and we can round it off with a good even 10. Oh, gosh. All right. Stop. Anyway, moving on. Let's move on. City of Brunswick. Seems to be a little bone of contention here. What's that? This whole topic. What topic? The leaf collection. What about it? Oh, a year? It's too early. It's too early.

[00:05:52] No, I'm not even talking about the signs on the side of the road all over the place. You just change the wording. If you put garage sale on it, they'll all be yanked out of the road. Anyway, don't get me started. But no, the leaf collection because people keep saying they're doing this way too early. Yeah. Well, it goes through two to three rounds. The leaves are starting to fall and it begins next Monday.

[00:06:20] So once they go through both rounds, because, you know, you don't know when it's going to snow. We've had trick-or-treating where it was snowy. Sure. And once snow hits the ground, you don't get a chance to pick it up. So I'm glad that they go through a couple different times. Yep. But Ward 1 begins next Monday. Ward 2 is the following day. And actually, the more leaves that people put out, the slower the process is and those dates will get pushed a little bit further back.

[00:06:48] But just rake it to the curb and you're good to go. Absolutely. Another exciting topic. This is a much better talk. Yeah. Much better. We haven't done these in a while and I'm glad Roger's back at it and we can support him. Yeah. So let's take a look at Gage. Gage is a three-year-old boxer mix. And it looks like he likes to swim. Mm-hmm. He's adorable.

[00:07:18] And if you're interested in getting to know more about Gage, contact Roger at Houndstown or Brea Animal Rescue. And here's some video of a little guy in action there. Yeah. They're all cute. Sure are. They're all cute. All right. Okay. Gage. You can talk about this one too if you want. Can I? Yeah. All right. I'm gonna enter.

[00:07:46] No, you can't enter. Why can I not enter? No. It doesn't say that. We are exempt from... I'm not tagged in it and it's not. Oh my gosh. Now is a great time to go out and get those pictures for the Full Follage Photo Contest that is sponsored by Positively Portraits and January Images. They're giving away some gift cards. Nice. The rules are very simple. No professional photographers and no photos from Lucas.

[00:08:15] Everything must be taken from your cell phone. That's so right. They must be taken in Brunswick and you need to state exact location with your photo. There'll be two winners. People's Choice and Photographer's Choice. People's Choice will be determined by the number of likes or loves on your photo. Mm-hmm. And one submission per person. Yeah. Let's look at some of the competition so far. And one of the people actually put the longitude and latitude.

[00:08:43] So how's that for exact coordinates? That's pretty exact. Yeah. I like it. So here, I mean... Yeah. We still got a few more days for you to submit your photo and there's not a whole lot of likes or... Likes or... No. ...reactions on here. So even if you're not going to participate, find this post. Just search Fall Foliage Photo Contest and get in there and like one of those. Yeah. It's in the featured section so just go to the featured section of the page. Nobody can ever find that. I know.

[00:09:13] It's a little button at the top if you're in the app. And the search feature doesn't work that well anymore either. Yeah. For right now at least. Yeah. How you doing, Mark Zuckerberg? Right. Moving buttons and hiding features. All right. It's almost like he wants you to scroll Facebook all day. Moving right along. Moving along. Culver's is having a fundraiser tomorrow night. That's Thursday.

[00:09:41] You can grab a meal from 4 to 8 p.m. and support Culver's. All you gotta do is mention that you are there to support Culver's. Crestview. Crestview. I'll help you. Thank you. You're welcome. Your support is always appreciated and what is that? What percentage? A percentage. It just says a percentage. Yeah. But, I mean, you're gonna eat anyways. You might as well. All right.

[00:10:10] Moving right along. Grounded Bean is looking for some baristas. Mm-hmm. Open interviews are coming up. And so if you're interested, that's gonna be this Friday from 2 to 4. Stop by if you're open. If you're open. What the heck? If you're... Stop by from 2 to 4 this Friday. Grounded Bean if you're interested in being a barista. Passionate about people. You must be 18 years old.

[00:10:40] Weekends are required and previous experience is a plus. Yeah. And that's over on Pearl Road. I wonder if you do that all day. Do you stop smelling the coffee at some point? No. You know, when you walk into it, it smells so good in there. And I think you just keep smelling coffee. Ugh. Can you get caffeine highs off of smelling it? I wish. That would be nice, right? Espresso highs. All right.

[00:11:10] What's up, folks? Moving right along. Yeah. Things to do? Yeah. Wild West weekend over at Maple Side Farms. They do this on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can explore the old frontier when the kids get into the covered wagons for a trip to the village. Pumpkin Village, that is. Anyone who has ever wished to be a cowboy or a cowboy girl is encouraged to wear their full cow riding get up. 20 awesome attractions to enjoy. The giant corn maze.

[00:11:40] You can take a tour of the orchard and their cow and pig train. Obviously, the giant slide and the two giant jump pillows. It is Friday from 4 to 9, Saturday 11 to 9, and Sunday 11 to 6. And, of course, discounted admission on Fridays. You forgot to tell them about the pig races. Oh, I forgot to tell them about the pig races, too. There you go. Winding it down.

[00:12:09] There's only maybe one more Sunday after this? Or is this the last one? I'm not sure. No, I think there is one more. Maybe one more. So, winding it down for the season. Maple Side Farms get out there and experience that with the kids. Or with all the kids. What the heck. TNM Lanes is having a Boo and Bowl. That's October 23rd, 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock.

[00:12:37] There's going to be raffles, table crafts, costume contests. Adults are $8.99 and kids are $6.99. Limited reservations. So, call them up or visit TNMLanes.com and make your reservation. Yeah, they've been doing a lot of stuff there. A lot of events. So, if you're not following TNMLanes on Facebook or I think they're also on Instagram, give them a follow so you can stay up on what they're doing.

[00:13:07] So, let's talk about drugs. Okay. Now we go. Here we go. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is happening this Saturday at 10 a.m. You can head over to City Hall where outside they will be collecting your old expired unused prescription drugs. It's super easy. You just turn them in. Okay.

[00:13:38] People often ask, what do I do with these? Yep. Yes, I think also if you missed this, there's drop boxes in both police departments. Yeah. Yep. So, moving right along. Yeah. Hinkley Trick or Treat, October 24th. Is this for the city or a town? It's like a street thing. It's um... 4 to 6 on the 24th. Yeah.

[00:14:08] Hinkley Town Center and Sidewalk brought to you by their Chamber of Commerce. Some people are always asking where are the, you know, Trunk or Treats? Where are the Trick or Treats? Yeah. How can I maximize my candy intake? You know, what if the weather's bad on October 31st? Right. How do I make sure that I have candy? And then you go around and get all the candy and then you hand it out on the 31st. Times are tough. Times are tough. That's a great idea. I know, right? I didn't think of that. Or you just hand out the stuff you don't like.

[00:14:38] You know? Yeah. There is going to be jumping all over the place here, but this... We're going to talk about it, but I have to tell you now because I'll forget. There's going to be a candy swap at Market 42 during their event this week. I like that. I like that. So this Sunday from 12 to 3, we'll talk about it in a minute, but a candy swap. Isn't that a great idea? It is a pretty good idea. There's a dentist in town, right? That does a... And they're going to be taking that. I asked them. They were at Trunk or Treat. Hedrick's. They mail it out to the troops or something. Yep. They'll be taking that.

[00:15:07] That's pretty awesome. Mail it out to the troops. Or mail it out to me. I'll take it. Chocolate only. Chocolate only. And berry skittles. I had those the other day for the first time in a long time. They were so good. Tell us what your favorite candy is while we're waiting on Lucas over here to scroll his page. But... I thought you were asking me. No. Well, go ahead. I'll go ahead. What is yours? I like pretty much anything gummy. Dots, Jujubees, Gummy Bears. Yeah. Peach rings.

[00:15:37] Gummy stuff. Gummy stuff. Not bad. Yeah. Teach their own. That's why it all exists. That's why all the pizza shops exist. That's why all the coffee shops exist. That's why all the different candies exist. Very true. Erin says Fifth Avenue. I agree. That's a good one. That is a good one. I won't turn down to Fifth Avenue. Huh. This made me... No, we're not there yet. Oh. We're not. Oh, we're down there. We're at the annual Sound Spectacular.

[00:16:07] That's happening this weekend. Um, Saturday, October 24th, the Marching Blue Devils host the 43rd annual Sound Spectacular Marching Band show. Um, this OMEA adjudicated... Mm-hmm. Uh, event features 15 performances from the best high school bands in Northeast Ohio. Super fun to watch. Um, not boring. Uh, I wish I... I wish I had video to show you of, uh, some of these performances.

[00:16:36] But the gates open at 3.30. The first band performs at 5.00. Um, the first post of why is the band playing? Uh, is that 5.15? 5.05. Uh, the Marching Blue Devils take the field at 9.20. So, come and see the bands. Try the marching tacos at the concession stand. Sample a pie from the pie tent. Yeah. It's not just about marching. Nice. You know, I was... I played trumpet. In middle school. And ate pie while you were doing it. And then they asked me to march and I said no thank you.

[00:17:06] Wait, I have to move? No. True story. Missions $10 for adults, $7 for students, seniors active duty. Military veterans, uh, also $7 as well. That sounds so much like me. For more information, visit the Brunswick Bad Pair organization website. All right. Now, you can talk about... Well, this made me cold. Can that... Is there no other fundraiser? These poor kids are gonna be out. Scout Troop 517 is gonna be out washing cars this weekend.

[00:17:35] Oh my gosh. Just bundle up. You don't have your polar badge? Oh. Your polar bear badge? No. No. I remember camping, uh, camping out. It was, uh, negative degrees in a tent in a sleeping bag. No. For my polar bear badge. No. So, if I can do it, so can Scout Troop 517. No. These poor kids. Yeah, they're fine. These poor, poor kids. They're fine. What do you want? You want soapy all over the back of your rainforest car wash? Can you scroll so I can... Oh yeah. I just want it on.

[00:18:03] If you're still going to that place after everything that we've been through with that, that's on you. Yeah, yeah. That's your money loss. Anyway, um, over at Brunswick United Methodist Church this Saturday from 9 to 1, these poor kids will be freezing probably, uh, cause the sun will just be coming out and they're done. So, uh, car wash, go help the Scouts. Please give them a hefty donation so they can get out of there early.

[00:18:30] Yeah, even if you don't need your car wash, just stop by and give them some hand warmers. You guys. Holy cow. Hats off to ya. Happy Halloween from Hot Shot Sports Bar and Grill. They are getting it done right Saturday at 6 PM with a Halloween party. Bringing Halloween vibes. They got $5 space dust pints. It's a pretty good deal. Hmm.

[00:18:57] $6 crown royal drinks, Halloween shot specials and Halloween themed staff and spooky atmosphere. And that is this Saturday at 6 PM. All right. So I think there's quite a few Halloween things going on this weekend next. Um, let us know where you're going. Drop it in the comments or, uh, send us a link if it's next week. We'll, uh, make sure we mention it.

[00:19:19] Um, this Saturday at Market 42, um, Sully Solo from 6 to 9. Um, we'll be back up there at McGinty's Pub at Market 42. I was at the end of the adult trick or treat event. Mm-hmm. It was crowded. Yeah. It was nice. Everybody had a great time. Um, we had, uh, Cruella. I saw some great costumes.

[00:19:48] Cruella DeVille. That was like 6'4". Yeah. She was just gorgeous. Gorgeous. She was the, I think the, one of the grand prize winners, but we did have somebody that went to all 10 locations. Was she dressed in a Dalmatian? Absolutely. Yeah. She was amazing. She looked absolutely amazing. There was a lot of great costumes. The dwarfs were there. I saw them. I think I, uh, I think I recognized, uh, Grumpy. Did you? I think so. Yeah. It was me, wasn't it? Oh, no.

[00:20:19] Anyway, um, so head back over to McGinty's. They've always got something going on, uh, this Saturday. Music, Sully Solo from 6 to 9. Yep. Good stuff. Also Saturday, uh, this one starts at 7 to 9. You can, uh, it's Halloween trivia night over at Ignite Brewing on North Carpenter, over by Launcher's Battlefield and, um... Mk. Mk. Mk. Mk. Power Soft.

[00:20:48] Power Soft. Mk Power Soft. But they have a giant indoor arena too. That's a whole different topic. But, um, the Ignite Brewing Company, Saturday, 7 o'clock, Halloween trivia night featuring spooky questions, festive vibes, and plenty of chances to win. Uh, free to play. Grab a drink. Bring your bravest friends and test your knowledge of all things Halloween. What kind of questions ask? Halloween, Halloween music, Halloween movies, Halloween traditions. How many Jason movies were there? I don't know. Yeah.

[00:21:19] Could be. So study up on all the Halloween. No. Don't do trivia. Erin just went to, um, where did she go? Did she go to the Harry Potter one? No. She went to, was it the Office Trivia? Over at, um... You're looking down to see who she told you. I did. Um, the Office Trivia, and they came in second place over at, um, geez, why do I forget the name? It's, um... Wooden Nickel? Nope. Next to Manzo's. Tapped and Forked. Tapped and Forked.

[00:21:49] She said it was delicious. She had the girl dinner, which... I need somebody to come out with a man dinner. Or the man... What was... What would you put in a man dinner? I don't know. Barbecue? Beer? Okay. Fair enough. I guess it already exists, so... Fair enough. But all these girl dinners. What's going on here? Oh, what'd she say? Oh, they won. Not second place. Oh! Wow! So not only is she great at Friends Trivia, but now she nails it at Office Trivia.

[00:22:17] I guess working from home has its advantages. Right? Saturday, um, from 830 to midnight over at Manzo's Sports and Spirits is Grunge DNA. Um, head on over there if that is your thing, right? Yeah. Delicious. You gonna tell us more about it or no? Is there anything else there? Just delicious booze over at Manzo's Sports and Spirits.

[00:22:44] Excellent bartenders, um, and, uh... Grunge DNA, it says, is the best 90s rock that they have to offer. Mm-hmm. Playing from 830 to midnight. Yeah. Good stuff. Good stuff. Yeah. I think Manzo's is one of the few bars that has a band, like, all night long. Mm-hmm. Like, a lot of these places are 6 to 9, 7 to 10, you know. Mm-hmm. Well, Ross was in a band, the owner of Manzo's. Ah!

[00:23:12] He was in a rock band, uh, and, uh, yeah, he likes to support bands. Yeah. And loves rock. Puts them up there all night long with the breaks. I'm sure they get breaks between their sets and stuff, but... He was in California with the music scene, so... Very cool. Does what he loves. It's his bar, right? Yeah. Yeah. And everybody gets to enjoy it. Mm-hmm. So I touched on this a little bit already, but here's, uh, some more details. This Sunday from 12 to 3 is Trick or Treat at Market 42.

[00:23:41] Um, and there will be not only trick or treating, there will be, from the vendors that are there, there'll also be additional vendors, um, pop-up vendors that they will be there handing out candy. There will also be crafts and activities and all sorts of stuff. Face painting. Face painting. Yep. Mm-hmm. A little bit of this and a little bit of that costume contest at 2.30. So bring the family, come on over, grab lunch and everything from one of the vendors,

[00:24:10] and then let the kids go trick or treating. Yeah. Uh, here's another Trunk or Treat. This one is over on 130th at, do you know? No. I'm waiting for you to get there. St. Colette. Ah! Uh, in their Corby Hall. Good. All kids 12 and under are welcome.

[00:24:35] Uh, email all RSVPs to Eva or Renee, um, but enjoy the spooky fun. It's in front of Corby Hall. And that is Sunday at 6.30 p.m. Whoa. They're not gonna put the trunks in the hall. Well, you said in Corby Hall. Oh, did I? And I was like, wait a minute. My bad. It's a Trunk or Treat. Maybe it has a garage door. I don't know. Oh, my gosh. Sea Turtle Watercolor Class with Robin.

[00:25:01] Um, that is Tuesday the 27th at 6 o'clock over at the Oaks Family Care Center. It's one of those free, freebie things. Yeah. So if you'd like to register, please head over. You do have to register ahead of time. That is an event by Light and Art Studio. And, uh, I may go to this one with a friend of mine. Yeah? Yeah, I may. That's what I told you early. The price is right. The price is right. Yeah. Da-da-da-da.

[00:25:33] Oh, my goodness. I want to go to this, though, too. I'm torn. And it does not say sold out yet. Their last one said sold out. Um, but this one is, uh, not yet sold out. It's Tuesday, October 27th. It is a murder mystery. Who doesn't love those?

[00:25:57] It is a murder mystery. It's a murder mystery. It's a murder mystery. But watch out. The murderer will try to cover their tracks. You ever done one of these? I haven't done one. I've been to one. Hmm. Okay.

[00:26:26] I haven't acted in one. Yeah. No, I haven't acted in one either. Have you been to one? I'm not much. Yes. Oh, my gosh. It was so much fun. It was a, you know what it was? It was a benefit for, uh, rugby. Really? Yeah. And a bunch of us went. Very cool. And it was, um, that was years ago. Mm-hmm. But it was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. But in this one, Heathcliff Manor, where Lord Heathcliff is hosting a dinner party to celebrate his recent marriage.

[00:26:52] But before anyone can toast his happiness, Lord Heathcliff is killed. Dun, dun, dun. With the candlestick in the pool room. Wait. By the butler? Is that what it says? Oh, he does say that. I thought you were joking. No. Oh, my gosh. I did see that the clue is coming to Playhouse Square. Is it really? Yep. Yep. Oh, gosh. So, speaking of, uh, last weekend's event, adult trick-or-treat event, uh, Shell, yeah,

[00:27:23] was the DJ for that event. She did a great job, by the way. So, go to Tuesday night. Oh, my gosh. This is, they're all on the same night. How are we gonna make all these? Yeah. Tuesday the 27th. Yeah, next Tuesday is happening. Yeah, it is. Uh, spooky boozy. See what they did. See what she did there. See? See what she did there. Yeah. Yeah. Right, just like her name, Shell Yeah. Shell Yeah. So, that's over at McGinty's Pub in Market 42, and that starts at 6.30pm.

[00:27:53] Mm-hmm. It says balls drop at 7. What? It says balls drop at 7. Oh, bingo. Yeah, I get it now. Mm-hmm. Because it just says game, it says game night. But is it just bingo? Oh, that's right. It does say, yeah. It doesn't say bingo. It doesn't say. Anywhere in here. You're right. Is it bingo? Well, I'm guessing if it's, if her balls are dropping at 7, I'm guessing. I guess so. It's bingo.

[00:28:22] That's all I can tell you. That's all I know. All right. All right. Well, is that it? That's all I got. Is that all? I think that was enough. That was 28 minutes. That was a lot. That was a lot. Yeah. And just a reminder, we're in the middle of the week-long scavenger hunt, kids scavenger hunt, so if you don't have those details, head over to the event page. Mm-hmm. And have a good time. Yeah. We'll see you one more time before Halloween. See you guys. Get out there and stock up on your candy. All right.
