[00:00:02] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:00:12] Is this thing on?

[00:00:13] It is now for episode number, what are we on?

[00:00:17] I don't know.

[00:00:17] Eighty-three?

[00:00:18] 953, something like that.

[00:00:20] Something like that.

[00:00:20] Yeah.

[00:00:22] Let's see, what do we got going on first here?

[00:00:24] Let's talk about the food pantry drive results.

[00:00:27] So, I have to admit, the anonymous donor got a little nervous.

[00:00:32] We were like, uh-oh, not too much came in.

[00:00:34] And then, all of a sudden, most of the donations, I think, were mailed directly to the food pantry.

[00:00:40] Mm-hmm.

[00:00:40] So, they sent, the food pantry sent me a message, gave me a total, and there it is, $3,400.

[00:00:48] That's pretty impressive.

[00:00:49] That's very impressive.

[00:00:50] Did they say what they normally get during a similar time?

[00:00:52] They didn't, but I guarantee you it's not $3,400 in 10 days.

[00:00:56] Yeah.

[00:00:56] So, thank you to everybody for your donations for that.

[00:01:01] I know it's time of year when everybody's got their hand out, but we do appreciate you going over and above to help with this project.

[00:01:08] So.

[00:01:08] Absolutely.

[00:01:09] And this one is equally as important.

[00:01:12] Donut Land is closing.

[00:01:14] Stop saying that, because then you pause and you're like, Donut Land is closing.

[00:01:18] For the holidays.

[00:01:19] So, here's the dates here.

[00:01:22] Obviously, they're going to be closed Christmas Day, and there's some weird dates, like the day after Christmas, and some other dates here.

[00:01:30] So, don't be like me and go pull on the front door.

[00:01:32] I hope you're getting an apple fritter and the door being locked.

[00:01:36] Yeah, I know.

[00:01:37] Then you've got to do the walk of shame back to your car.

[00:01:39] Right, right.

[00:01:40] But all is good there after, a couple days after New Year's Day.

[00:01:45] Yeah, it looks like Friday the 3rd, they open back up in the afternoon, it looks like, huh?

[00:01:50] Yeah, yeah.

[00:01:51] But if you do want dessert, it looks like Ignite Brewing now has a couple desserts in their tap room.

[00:01:58] What's that?

[00:01:59] That is a chocolate lava bundt cake and a salted caramel brownie.

[00:02:04] Oh, oh, when you say salted caramel, those two words.

[00:02:10] There's a couple beers that those would pair very well with.

[00:02:14] Oh, gosh, this is kind of sad, but we have to, you can still support them.

[00:02:19] Brunswick Bookshelf, the store is closing, and right now 50% off all the books.

[00:02:24] So, stop in over there.

[00:02:26] Brunswick location only.

[00:02:28] They still will have a location in Medina going forward.

[00:02:30] So, we are sad to see them go, but knowing that they'll still have Project Learn and some other stuff going on in Medina, that's a good thing.

[00:02:38] And if you want to take advantage of that, 50% off all their books right now.

[00:02:42] Yeah.

[00:02:42] Oh, and also in that plaza, I saw that Titan Construction is renovating one of the spots.

[00:02:48] So, something's going in there.

[00:02:49] I don't know what.

[00:02:50] I need you to kick down the door and ask them what happened to do.

[00:02:53] I'm on it.

[00:02:55] Yeah.

[00:02:55] I'm on it.

[00:02:56] It's kind of exciting.

[00:02:57] I haven't gotten arrested yet, so don't forget, we got the bill bondsman's number, right?

[00:03:02] In case I do.

[00:03:04] Check this out.

[00:03:05] A little ways up the street at Niner's Diner.

[00:03:07] They are all decked out for the holidays with drinks and decorations and stuff like that.

[00:03:14] That looks like a hot chocolate.

[00:03:16] Yeah.

[00:03:17] That looks like a hot chocolate.

[00:03:19] What are those things called?

[00:03:20] Flight.

[00:03:21] Flight, thank you.

[00:03:22] Oh my goodness.

[00:03:23] And they got their igloo all set up here.

[00:03:25] And more beverages.

[00:03:26] Mm-hmm.

[00:03:27] So, if you're looking for a festive place, go check out Niner's Diner and get some of those flights.

[00:03:32] I love flights because you can try a little bit of everything.

[00:03:34] Those are my favorite.

[00:03:36] Heading over to Gamers Lair.

[00:03:38] They're having some December specials now through the end of the month.

[00:03:41] 20% off all stock and 10% off boosters, boxes, and singles of CCG and TCG.

[00:03:49] And I know you guys are going to know what that is.

[00:03:50] So, head on over to Gamers Lair.

[00:03:54] And again, that's on Laurel Road over in the Subway Plaza.

[00:03:57] Yeah.

[00:03:57] They got bath bombs and dice and candles and other stuff like that.

[00:04:02] And obviously, they have some gift cards.

[00:04:04] They have those 3D dragons and stuff and a bunch of 3D stuff for sale, too.

[00:04:08] 3D prints.

[00:04:09] Yeah.

[00:04:09] But, yeah, you can get some last-minute gifts there.

[00:04:12] And they'll be closing early at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

[00:04:15] Good for them.

[00:04:16] Yeah.

[00:04:16] Good for them.

[00:04:18] Let's talk about things to do with your kids.

[00:04:21] Not, like, with them.

[00:04:22] Like, dropping them off while they're out of school.

[00:04:25] I thought this one was really cool.

[00:04:27] Brunswick Recreation Center is having a winter break camp.

[00:04:31] Members $175.

[00:04:33] Non-members $245.

[00:04:37] Or one day is just $55.

[00:04:39] And it's for grades kindergarten through fifth grade.

[00:04:42] You can drop them off from 7 a.m. till 5 p.m.

[00:04:45] That's 10 hours of child care.

[00:04:50] And that's available December 25th, 26th, 27th, 30th, and January 2nd, 3rd, and 6th.

[00:04:58] So I thought that would be a pretty good thing.

[00:05:00] That's a great option.

[00:05:01] Yeah.

[00:05:01] Online registration is available.

[00:05:03] Here's another one.

[00:05:05] Very nice.

[00:05:06] Another drop-off place.

[00:05:08] Extreme Ninja Winter Camp for ages looks like 5 to 12, I think.

[00:05:14] Activities, outdoor activities, weather permitting.

[00:05:16] But that's over at the courthouse on North Carpenter.

[00:05:19] And again, that's Extreme Ninja Winter Camp.

[00:05:22] So check out their dates.

[00:05:23] Looks like some in December, a couple in January, a full day.

[00:05:27] And this looks like per-day prices, maybe.

[00:05:30] Yeah.

[00:05:30] $55.

[00:05:31] Half-day is $33.

[00:05:34] Activities include Ninja Gym, Jelly Ball, bubble soccer, inflatable gaga, etc., etc., etc.

[00:05:42] So check them out.

[00:05:44] A couple options to keep the kids busy during break.

[00:05:46] All right.

[00:05:47] What else we got?

[00:05:48] Well, this was a lot of fun to watch.

[00:05:51] This is Bill Glick painting.

[00:05:54] These little paint cans started popping up all over, and they had money in them.

[00:05:58] And I'm not sure if he was handing them out.

[00:06:00] Maybe I think he was, and maybe some people found them.

[00:06:04] But that is an amazing gesture right there, just to make people's holiday a little bit brighter with a little gift.

[00:06:12] Yeah.

[00:06:13] Saw a couple posts like that where people were handed them around town.

[00:06:17] Very cool.

[00:06:17] All right.

[00:06:18] Let's head over to Houndstown and check out the Dog of the Week.

[00:06:23] Hey, Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:06:25] It's Roger from Houndstown.

[00:06:26] I just wanted to get with you with our weekly update.

[00:06:29] We do have Samuel back with us from Berea Animal Rescue.

[00:06:33] He's a three-year-old male mixed breed.

[00:06:36] He's doing fantastic in any of the play packs that we've had him with each day.

[00:06:41] Does great around other dogs.

[00:06:43] Also does very good around humans as well.

[00:06:45] So we'd love to help find him his forever home.

[00:06:48] If anybody's interested in learning more or setting up a meeting greet, you can give us a call here at 330-460-3052.

[00:06:57] I did want to say thank you to you guys as well as all your listeners for all of your help over this last year

[00:07:04] in sharing our story about the different dogs that we've had in.

[00:07:09] We've adopted close to 30 dogs since February when we started this.

[00:07:13] So that is awesome.

[00:07:14] And again, appreciate everybody's help in sharing our posts and spreading the word.

[00:07:19] Do remember that you can always go to the Berea Animal Rescue site to see all of the dogs and cats that they have up for adoption,

[00:07:27] as well as more information on Samuel.

[00:07:29] Or you can head over to our Houndstown Cleveland-Brunswick Facebook page to learn more about him as well.

[00:07:34] And then lastly, just a quick reminder that if anybody does need last-minute boarding for Christmas or New Year's,

[00:07:43] you would need to do an evaluation with us first if you're not an existing customer.

[00:07:47] So you can call us for more details there.

[00:07:49] And most importantly, certainly hope that everybody has a wonderful Christmas.

[00:07:55] And we will be back at you next week if we do bring in another dog.

[00:07:59] Not sure if I'm going to have a dog here next week or not with the busy boarding time.

[00:08:03] But anyways, everybody have a great holiday.

[00:08:05] And again, if you wanted to learn more about Samuel or arrange a meet and greet, please give us a call here at Houndstown.

[00:08:12] That number again is 330-460-3052.

[00:08:16] Everybody have a great holiday.

[00:08:18] All right.

[00:08:19] So if you're interested in Samuel, it's a human name.

[00:08:22] I know.

[00:08:22] You love those.

[00:08:23] You love them.

[00:08:24] Reach out to Roger over at Houndstown or Berea Animal Rescue to go on adoption.

[00:08:29] Yeah.

[00:08:29] And now it's time for things to do in the 212.

[00:08:33] And we've got a lot of them again.

[00:08:35] Probably one of the less busier weeks.

[00:08:39] Yeah.

[00:08:39] For the holiday stuff.

[00:08:41] So let's get into it.

[00:08:42] And I'm sure you'll find something to do in this list.

[00:08:45] What you got?

[00:08:45] First, we got Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

[00:08:48] It is an adult gingerbread decorating contest over at the Tangled Vine.

[00:08:52] The Little Yum Emporium with lots of additional candies will be there to decorate your house.

[00:08:57] They'll vote on a winner and a prize will be given.

[00:08:59] One drink is included with your ticket and they'll have themed Christmas drinks.

[00:09:03] The ticket also includes one house and a max of two people per one house.

[00:09:08] You can get tickets in the event on Tangled Vine's Facebook page.

[00:09:12] Sounds fun.

[00:09:13] Yeah.

[00:09:13] Breakfast with Santa Cow.

[00:09:15] Oh, my goodness.

[00:09:17] How much fun is that?

[00:09:18] That's going to be this Saturday from 8 to 1030.

[00:09:22] And that is over at Chick-fil-A, of course, on 303.

[00:09:27] So please join them for a very special breakfast.

[00:09:29] And you do not have to get anything ahead of time.

[00:09:32] Just show up.

[00:09:33] Again, that starts at 830 in the morning over at Chick-fil-A.

[00:09:37] Santa Cow.

[00:09:38] Yeah, it looks like it's got some hot chocolate and coloring pages for the kids.

[00:09:42] Oh, very nice.

[00:09:43] Good stuff.

[00:09:43] Also Saturday, 1030 a.m. till noon is a winter solstice over at Grace and Gratitude Yoga.

[00:09:50] They'll be guiding you through 108 sun salutations, a meditative energizing practice to release the old and welcome the new.

[00:09:58] So if you want to start off your new year with 108 positions, is that what you want to do?

[00:10:04] Yeah.

[00:10:05] But there's also mimosas paired with a charcuterie.

[00:10:09] And man, when we started this podcast, I could not say the word charcuterie.

[00:10:13] See?

[00:10:13] Look how far you've gone.

[00:10:16] And a keepsake of the experience.

[00:10:19] So reach out to Grace and Gratitude Yoga for their winter solstice this Saturday at 1030 a.m.

[00:10:25] Maybe in another year I'll be able to say the name of the new Mexican restaurant.

[00:10:30] Because for now it's still Tupac.

[00:10:33] So also Saturday afternoon from 2 to 6, open house at Salvati.

[00:10:40] Is that how we say it?

[00:10:41] Yeah.

[00:10:42] Salon and Suites.

[00:10:43] Mm-hmm.

[00:10:44] Are they new?

[00:10:45] I think so.

[00:10:46] I don't know.

[00:10:46] They're just kind of off the beaten path on Manhattan.

[00:10:49] I see them every day as I drop my kid off at the middle school.

[00:10:53] Oh.

[00:10:54] So December 21st from 2 to 6.

[00:10:57] Afternoon of connection, discovery, and celebration.

[00:11:00] Come and meet the incredible professionals that they have there with their luxury services offered at, again, Salvati Salon Suites.

[00:11:08] I hope I said that right.

[00:11:09] So check out their Facebook page for more information.

[00:11:11] And go check them out.

[00:11:13] Yeah.

[00:11:13] It looks like they got food and wine and mingling with the other guests.

[00:11:17] And you can enter to win giveaways featuring their luxury services.

[00:11:21] They have a Japanese head spa treatment.

[00:11:24] It's pretty exclusive.

[00:11:25] You can't get that all over time.

[00:11:26] Would you like to elaborate on that?

[00:11:27] I don't know what it is, but it sounds fantastic.

[00:11:30] Oh, my goodness.

[00:11:31] So stop by from 2 to 6 on the 21st to enter to win that.

[00:11:35] Maybe they'll contact us and invite us in it.

[00:11:37] Offer a Japanese whatever that was.

[00:11:40] Treatment.

[00:11:40] Yeah.

[00:11:41] Okay.

[00:11:41] We could go down a road right there, but we're not going to go down that road.

[00:11:44] Oh, my goodness.

[00:11:46] Christmas movie marathon and PJ party.

[00:11:48] How?

[00:11:49] Why did you give me this one?

[00:11:50] Of course you did.

[00:11:52] So head on over to Hoppy Dudes on Saturday between.

[00:11:56] Oh, it's like an all day thing.

[00:11:57] So, yeah, that's what a marathon is, Kimberly.

[00:11:59] Duh.

[00:12:01] Christmas movie marathon with your PJs.

[00:12:04] Hoppy Dudes.

[00:12:05] And they're on Ridge Road in case you've never been there before.

[00:12:07] They're playing Christmas movies all day long.

[00:12:11] Come in your PJs and get entered into a raffle to win a free growler fill.

[00:12:16] Winner will be pulled at the end of the night, approximately 9 o'clock.

[00:12:20] So if you stick around for that, you do not have to be present to win, though.

[00:12:25] So some fun things going on over there.

[00:12:27] Yeah.

[00:12:27] Saturday is a busy day.

[00:12:28] Yeah.

[00:12:29] We have more.

[00:12:30] Over in Hinkley as well.

[00:12:31] You can do this before you go to Hoppy Dudes and drink some beer and watch some movies.

[00:12:37] The Hinkley Lake Boathouse and Reservation is having extreme hiking, as if hiking isn't

[00:12:44] fun enough.

[00:12:45] This one is extreme.

[00:12:46] It is from 9 a.m. till noon.

[00:12:48] And you'll get your heart pumping as you explore Hinkley's Hills, as they explore trails

[00:12:53] on the winter solstice.

[00:12:54] Do you go in your pajamas?

[00:12:56] I don't think so.

[00:12:57] Well, you said before Hoppy Dudes, so.

[00:12:59] Oh, yeah.

[00:13:02] It's a three-hour extreme hike.

[00:13:04] Doesn't that sound fun?

[00:13:05] Yeah.

[00:13:06] Mm-hmm.

[00:13:07] Mm-hmm.

[00:13:07] Mm-hmm.

[00:13:07] You go right ahead.

[00:13:12] Oh, my gosh.

[00:13:13] Saturday night from 730 to 1030 over at Gandalf's Pub in Valley City is live music with

[00:13:19] Furious George Hartwig.

[00:13:22] So go check them out.

[00:13:24] Again, over at Gandalf's.

[00:13:25] Plays classics and looks like some acoustics maybe.

[00:13:30] Get your request in, too.

[00:13:31] He takes requests.

[00:13:32] Very cool.

[00:13:33] So that's Gandalf's.

[00:13:34] That's Saturday night.

[00:13:35] Check them out.

[00:13:36] 730.

[00:13:36] Also Saturday night over at Manzo's at 830 is the agenda and their Christmas bash.

[00:13:42] All righty then.

[00:13:43] On Sunday from 12 to 3 is Meet Santa over at the Brunswick Hills Fire Station at Substation

[00:13:49] in Grafton.

[00:13:50] Santa will be making his rounds around the township.

[00:13:53] If you go to the Brunswick Hills Firefighters Facebook page, you can see the route that Santa

[00:13:59] will take.

[00:14:00] And then a little bit after that, he settles in over at the fire station for an afternoon

[00:14:06] of face painting and crafts and pictures with Santa and a whole bunch of fun stuff going

[00:14:13] on.

[00:14:14] Fun.

[00:14:14] So check it out.

[00:14:15] That's a yearly tradition.

[00:14:17] So yeah, it's nice that the hills still does that.

[00:14:20] Yeah.

[00:14:21] Back at Hoppy Dudes, we have a Christmas market for local vendors.

[00:14:24] That is December 22nd from 1 to 4 p.m.

[00:14:27] They have gifts, local vendors, obviously beer, Happy Dude gift cards, and Happy Dude merchandise.

[00:14:35] Good place to get some last minute gifts for friends and family.

[00:14:39] We could go and your wife and I could shop and you could just drink.

[00:14:42] We can do that.

[00:14:43] We can do that.

[00:14:45] We want to invite everybody to gather.

[00:14:48] Last week, we told you about the passing of Dale Ruby.

[00:14:54] And so on the 22nd at 7 o'clock, we invite everyone to gather just as a thank you to the

[00:15:00] family.

[00:15:01] Candlelight Vigil, please bring your own candles if you want to use your phone or whatever.

[00:15:05] You could use your flashlight, whatever like that.

[00:15:07] But stop over.

[00:15:09] Their address is 40...

[00:15:12] Oh my gosh, let me think.

[00:15:14] It's Elder Side Circle.

[00:15:16] So that's off of Montgomery.

[00:15:17] So if you just go down that street, it's a very short cul-de-sac.

[00:15:21] So just kind of a thank you to Mr. Ruby for all of his years of brightening our Christmas

[00:15:27] season.

[00:15:27] Again, that's Sunday night at 7.

[00:15:30] This is just as important as Donutland, right?

[00:15:33] Yeah.

[00:15:33] I think so.

[00:15:34] Yeah.

[00:15:35] Holiday hours for Ohio Pie.

[00:15:36] Tell us what.

[00:15:38] Christmas Eve, they're open at 11 a.m.

[00:15:40] And the last order is taken at 5 p.m.

[00:15:43] Christmas Day, they're closed, but they're doing a wonderful thing for the community.

[00:15:47] The owner will be in the shop with some of his family and friends making pizzas from 12

[00:15:52] to 4.

[00:15:53] And he says that if you don't have a place to go or need a meal, just stop in and get a

[00:16:00] free medium pie.

[00:16:01] That's amazing.

[00:16:02] Yeah.

[00:16:02] He did it last year and he said about 30 people or 30 pies.

[00:16:06] Awesome.

[00:16:06] So that's how him and his friends celebrate their Christmas Day.

[00:16:10] New Year's Day, they will be at normal hours as well as New Year's Eve, 11 a.m.

[00:16:16] till 10 p.m.

[00:16:17] So make sure you remember that.

[00:16:20] We had the Thanksgiving pie.

[00:16:22] Did you have it?

[00:16:23] Oh, yeah.

[00:16:23] You had it?

[00:16:24] Oh.

[00:16:25] I have all the weird ones.

[00:16:26] As a matter of fact, I asked him if they were doing that thing this year where their

[00:16:30] employees get to make them.

[00:16:32] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[00:16:32] He said, yeah, it's coming up.

[00:16:34] Coming up with their own.

[00:16:35] It's always one of my favorite things that they do.

[00:16:37] Very nice.

[00:16:38] They should do a people's choice and have somebody like, Nick, reach out to us and let's do

[00:16:43] a contest.

[00:16:44] We'll have a, somebody can submit it and you can pick one from the page.

[00:16:49] Yeah, that's a good idea.

[00:16:49] Somebody get in touch with Nick and tell him to get in touch with Lucas or I and maybe we

[00:16:53] could do that.

[00:16:54] That'd be fun.

[00:16:55] Things to do in the 2-on-2 beyond the weekend.

[00:17:00] We got pool tournaments every Wednesday at Ignite Brewery from 7 to 9 p.m.

[00:17:05] It's a doubles tournament.

[00:17:07] It's $10 per person and includes two 12-ounce beers.

[00:17:11] So they just put it in a new pool table and now they have a pool tournament.

[00:17:15] Very nice.

[00:17:16] Yeah.

[00:17:17] All right.

[00:17:17] Party on New Year's Eve at Amy's Arbors and it says, Happy New Year 2025.

[00:17:22] Come party like gangsters.

[00:17:40] Chicken Alfredo's, spaghetti and meatballs, Italian sausage and peppers.

[00:17:44] Come dressed as a 1920 gangster.

[00:17:47] There'll be a best dressed prize.

[00:18:22] Everybody always wonders, where's Brunswick 80s guy?

[00:18:25] Where's Alex at?

[00:18:55] Make an appearance, right?

[00:18:57] Yeah.

[00:18:58] What else we got?

[00:18:59] Anything else?

[00:18:59] That is it.

[00:19:00] That's a lot.

[00:19:01] That's enough.

[00:19:02] Whew.

[00:19:03] If you can't find anything to do, then you're not looking, right?

[00:19:15] No.

[00:19:16] That's it.

[00:19:16] This is it?

[00:19:17] This is Christmas weekend, and then Christmas is on Wednesday.

[00:19:20] Ah, that's right.

[00:19:21] I was thinking we had another weekend.
