[00:00:02] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:00:09] There we go. Episode number 76, scooting right along.
[00:00:12] Yep. Love it. Love it. Kicking it off with probably one of my most favorite posts ever.
[00:00:18] Yeah, that was cool, right?
[00:00:20] It was very cool. So somebody in her grandmother's house found this old class jacket and it said it's from about 34 years ago.
[00:00:29] And they were trying to return it to this person. So you could barely make out the name on it.
[00:00:35] And I, of course, Detective Kimberly started looking for the last name, found him, tagged him, and the rest is history.
[00:00:45] There he is. It still fits. That's good stuff. That's how social media should work.
[00:00:50] We're uniting. We had a credit card that was lost and found earlier in the week too as well.
[00:00:55] Yeah. Same way, huh?
[00:00:56] Yep, yep.
[00:00:57] Yeah, we get that every once in a while. So combined, there was like hundreds of comments and over a thousand likes and loves on it. So it's good stuff.
[00:01:07] I added this in here. The Lodi Outlet Mall is closing. It got sold and, well, it was basically closed anyways. There wasn't a whole lot of shops left in there.
[00:01:17] Right.
[00:01:18] And it's going to be redeveloped as a business park.
[00:01:21] Well, as long as it gets used. You know, that's the good part.
[00:01:24] Mm-hmm.
[00:01:25] You know, buildings don't sit there empty. That's a good thing.
[00:01:27] Right, right.
[00:01:27] So, one door closes, another one opens. This was kind of exciting. Earlier this week, we found out that something's actually going in Hickory Ridge Plaza finally.
[00:01:36] Play Cafe is what it's been described as. It's Playville. The owner did reach out to us and we will keep you guys in the loop as progress comes along with that.
[00:01:49] Welcome, Playville, to the BWIC.
[00:01:51] Looking at the plans for the place, there's not anything like it in the area, so I'm very excited to have that and have it in that location on Pearl Road.
[00:02:00] Pearl Road is really flourishing over the last couple of years and we'll see that to continue to grow over the next few years and especially with the investments in that plaza.
[00:02:08] I think we'll see some more businesses there within the next year.
[00:02:11] Exactly.
[00:02:12] All right. Tell us about this next one.
[00:02:14] Yeah, the next one.
[00:02:15] To lock it.
[00:02:16] Earlier this week, Tupac.
[00:02:19] To lock a pocket opened up on Monday and I was one of the first people in that door.
[00:02:24] We saw the open signs on and got to meet the owner from the first dip of the chip.
[00:02:30] I knew it was going to be a pretty good meal.
[00:02:33] The salsa.
[00:02:33] You worked on that one all week.
[00:02:35] You worked on that one all week.
[00:02:36] First dip of the chip.
[00:02:37] Oh, Lord.
[00:02:38] The first dip of the chip.
[00:02:40] It wasn't a puree like some of the other places.
[00:02:43] It was a little thicker consistency.
[00:02:45] You could actually see the onion in it.
[00:02:47] You could see some of the other ingredients in it.
[00:02:50] Yes.
[00:02:50] I mean, it wasn't super thick.
[00:02:51] Now, are they open every day or is that just a soft opening?
[00:02:53] You know?
[00:02:54] I don't know.
[00:02:55] He talked about being open tomorrow.
[00:02:56] He was talking about a ribbon cutting down a little bit down the road.
[00:03:00] They do have beer right now.
[00:03:01] So, I had a Modelo.
[00:03:03] It came in a big mug and it was delicious.
[00:03:06] You could definitely tell.
[00:03:08] The place looked gorgeous.
[00:03:09] I mean, the walls, the murals, the floors, chandeliers.
[00:03:13] Look at this picture of the chandelier.
[00:03:14] You put a lot of money into that.
[00:03:15] Yeah.
[00:03:16] It is not the same owner.
[00:03:18] Although, there was some things on the menu that reminded me of the things that I liked.
[00:03:24] Not quite the same.
[00:03:25] Yeah.
[00:03:26] Well, let's debunk that right now.
[00:03:28] It's not the same owner.
[00:03:30] No.
[00:03:31] Go check them out and welcome Tupac.
[00:03:34] Yeah.
[00:03:35] To Lakapake.
[00:03:36] Thank you.
[00:03:37] That's going to be your job from now on.
[00:03:40] Oh my goodness.
[00:03:42] Rose McDeary Queen is just kicking it again.
[00:03:46] If you take a look at these cakes that they're coming out of there, amazing work.
[00:03:50] Amazing and talented decorators over there.
[00:03:53] So, if you need something, I see some of your favorite Taylor stuff in there.
[00:03:58] I don't know.
[00:03:59] We could probably get you a beer cake, I guess, maybe.
[00:04:01] Some real quality work there.
[00:04:03] That is...
[00:04:04] They're very talented.
[00:04:06] The more icing, the better.
[00:04:07] That's what I say on those.
[00:04:09] Oh, agree.
[00:04:09] Agree.
[00:04:10] Yeah, right?
[00:04:11] Up next, I have Brunswick's newest form of social media, formerly Twitter.
[00:04:15] X Parks and Rec is now on Twitter.
[00:04:18] I don't do too much interaction on Twitter, but I get a lot of my information from Twitter.
[00:04:23] And now the Parks and Rec Center has their own account.
[00:04:26] So, you can follow them for pool schedule updates, closings, openings, events going on,
[00:04:32] and other fun activities.
[00:04:34] Yeah.
[00:04:35] I think, especially for closings and stuff like that, I think that's usually how most people
[00:04:40] get the school closings the fastest.
[00:04:42] I think that's the first place you post when they close the schools.
[00:04:47] So, you know, I don't know.
[00:04:49] I don't know if I can handle another social media account though.
[00:04:51] I don't know.
[00:04:52] We'll see.
[00:04:52] I don't really go on it, but I follow them and then there's a setting to notify you.
[00:04:57] So, I only get certain notifications.
[00:04:59] Oh, okay.
[00:04:59] You don't have to be deeply involved in Twitter or X, but if you follow the right ones and
[00:05:04] you set the notifications right, you get just what you want when you need it.
[00:05:08] Got it.
[00:05:09] For those of you that like to plan, speaking of Parks and Rec, they have their winter break
[00:05:13] camp schedule out with all the pricing and everything like that.
[00:05:17] Pre-registration is required.
[00:05:18] So, it doesn't look like it's a drop off.
[00:05:20] So, you have to schedule.
[00:05:22] So, members, non-members, and one day pricing is available.
[00:05:25] And that's December 23rd through January 6th.
[00:05:29] Not all days, but most days.
[00:05:31] So, check out their Facebook page or their Twitter account now.
[00:05:34] Mm-hmm.
[00:05:35] And you can see online registration is available.
[00:05:38] Check them out.
[00:05:39] They always have fun things to do for the kids.
[00:05:41] So, if you're looking for something for winter break, sign up now.
[00:05:44] Yep. Yep.
[00:05:45] That's all the posts we have.
[00:05:46] Let's head over to Roger at Houndstown for the Pooch of the Week.
[00:05:51] Hey everyone, it's Roger here at Houndstown with my weekly update.
[00:05:55] This week, we actually have Comanche back in the house.
[00:05:58] He was with us a few weeks ago.
[00:06:00] He was adopted, but returned.
[00:06:03] And not sure of all of the reasons behind that, but the family, it didn't work out.
[00:06:07] But the good news is, is Comanche is back with us.
[00:06:10] And truly, he is a sweet boy.
[00:06:12] He has been doing great with both our townies and also the humans that are here.
[00:06:18] So, he gets along with all the other dogs that we've had him in packs with.
[00:06:23] And he is up for adoption.
[00:06:25] So, you can see more information on him, both on our Brunswick Houndstown Facebook page,
[00:06:32] or you can go to the Brea Animal Rescue site and not only see info on Comanche,
[00:06:38] but all the other dogs and cats that they have up for adoption.
[00:06:41] Also, as a reminder, as we head into the holidays here, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's,
[00:06:46] we are here both for dog daycare and or boarding.
[00:06:50] If you're heading out of town, have plans and any place for your four-legged family members to stay.
[00:06:56] Dogs, indoor cats, we have boarding available for you.
[00:07:00] If you haven't been here before, we would love to have you in to come check us out.
[00:07:04] We do give you a free day of doggy daycare as well.
[00:07:07] If you'd like to arrange that, just reach out to us.
[00:07:09] Our number here is 330-460-3052.
[00:07:14] And again, if you have any interest in Comanche, you'd like to do a meet and greet,
[00:07:18] please give us a call as well.
[00:07:20] We'd love to have you in and check him out.
[00:07:22] Hope everybody has a great weekend and we'll be back at you next week.
[00:07:25] Take care.
[00:07:27] All right.
[00:07:28] Cute pup Comanche is available.
[00:07:30] See Roger at Houndstown or Bria Animal Rescue to check him out.
[00:07:35] That's like torture every week.
[00:07:37] For me.
[00:07:38] For me it is.
[00:07:39] Not for me.
[00:07:40] Oh my gosh.
[00:07:40] I know, but for me it is.
[00:07:42] They're so adorable.
[00:07:44] Anyway.
[00:07:45] All right.
[00:07:45] Let's do, what are we going to do?
[00:07:47] Things to do in the 212?
[00:07:49] Let's do it.
[00:07:50] All right.
[00:07:51] Moving right along.
[00:07:52] What do we got?
[00:07:52] We have Mapleside Farms Breakfast in the Barn with Santa.
[00:07:56] This one sells out pretty well each year and tickets are now available.
[00:08:00] They have the event going on December 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th.
[00:08:04] And each of those days we'll have four seatings.
[00:08:07] 8am, 9.30am, 11am, and 12.30pm.
[00:08:10] For more information you can check out mapleside.com
[00:08:13] where you can join their mailing list and look into tickets for Breakfast in the Barn with Santa.
[00:08:18] Very nice.
[00:08:19] So on Friday, tomorrow from 6 to 7 is Zen AF with Grace and Gratitude Yoga.
[00:08:27] So if you're interested in something like that, check out their Facebook page.
[00:08:30] There's still time for you to register.
[00:08:32] This is a little bit different though.
[00:08:33] It says to expect loud music, unfiltered emotions, and judgment-free zone where you can be your authentic and fiery self.
[00:08:41] So strong language and a badass attitude is required.
[00:08:44] Hey, guess where I'm going to be tomorrow from like 6 to 7.
[00:08:49] I don't know.
[00:08:49] Not kneeling on the floor doing yoga, but sitting in a chair in the corner because that's like me right there.
[00:08:56] Wrapped up in a burrito.
[00:08:58] So anyway, if that sounds like something that's a little bit different.
[00:09:01] So now we know what the AF stands for.
[00:09:04] Come on.
[00:09:05] I wasn't really sure.
[00:09:06] We're going to go past this one and not talk about their tongue sticking out in the photo.
[00:09:12] Like I've heard of downward dog and all the other ones, but is there a pose where you stick your tongue out?
[00:09:18] Okay.
[00:09:19] So because you and I tried to do due diligence and fact find, I actually messaged them.
[00:09:26] And I said, look, can we talk about the photo?
[00:09:28] Hi.
[00:09:29] And she said it's called, it's a pose and it's actually called lion's breath.
[00:09:34] Oh, okay.
[00:09:36] There you go.
[00:09:36] Okay.
[00:09:37] Now, you know.
[00:09:39] So there will not be a pickle eating contest.
[00:09:41] There.
[00:09:42] No, she says it wasn't quite the vibe she was going for, but.
[00:09:46] Yeah.
[00:09:47] Okay.
[00:09:48] I'm glad you reached out because let's just move on.
[00:09:53] All right.
[00:09:54] Moving on.
[00:09:55] It's you going down that rabbit hole.
[00:09:57] Yeah, I know.
[00:09:58] And I, you know, earlier this week, uh, somebody had some not so nice words that I was a,
[00:10:03] uh, toxic male.
[00:10:07] I got a.
[00:10:08] Usually it's me getting beat up.
[00:10:10] You were just, I was sitting back with a glass of wine and just watching the roast.
[00:10:15] Yeah.
[00:10:15] I had to check myself and see if, and think about if I really was a toxic male in the comments
[00:10:20] that she said came off as being toxic.
[00:10:23] I apologize to everyone if they came off that way.
[00:10:25] Uh, I don't want to be that way.
[00:10:28] You are about the farthest thing from a toxic male that I can think of.
[00:10:32] So, oh my goodness.
[00:10:33] But you know, that's part of the problem with social media is people come off in different
[00:10:38] ways and we see that all the time.
[00:10:41] And, um, those of you that, you know, think what you want about either one of us, then
[00:10:46] that's okay.
[00:10:47] But I sleep with a fan on at night and we both sleep really well.
[00:10:50] So, but it's okay.
[00:10:53] Everyone can have their opinion.
[00:10:55] So, um, as long as you support businesses and do things in our community, I don't care
[00:11:00] what you think about us.
[00:11:01] I don't at least I'm speaking for myself.
[00:11:04] Amen.
[00:11:04] Amen to that.
[00:11:06] So anyway, let's get going here.
[00:11:08] What Saturday.
[00:11:09] All right.
[00:11:09] Saturday.
[00:11:10] We got, uh, returning to the wooden nickel is dogwood rockers playing at 7 PM until 10 PM.
[00:11:17] They play, uh, sixties through nineties classic rock.
[00:11:21] Oh, and if you go, you have to try the, um, zucchini planks.
[00:11:25] Oh, I, you, you, I know, I know the dipping sauce on that is phenomenal.
[00:11:30] So good.
[00:11:30] So good.
[00:11:31] So good.
[00:11:32] Um, also Saturday night, uh, Ronnie Zooks is going to be at Manzo's.
[00:11:37] Check him out.
[00:11:38] He starts at eight 30 again over at Manzo's acoustic rock night.
[00:11:42] Yeah.
[00:11:42] Saturday at eight 30.
[00:11:43] Mm-hmm.
[00:11:44] Uh, the next day Sunday at noon is the psychic fair over at the Brunswick VFW with Northeast
[00:11:51] Ohio's best readers.
[00:11:52] They have seven total readers where you can get all kinds of things from astrology to
[00:11:57] Oracle cards to ruins.
[00:11:58] There'll be a crystal gems and gemstones and more available.
[00:12:02] It's free admissions and readings are only $25.
[00:12:05] And that lasts until 5 PM noon to five.
[00:12:08] Looking ahead into next week, uh, Wednesday, November 6th.
[00:12:12] After you're done with all the election crap on Tuesday, head over to the Tangled Vine for
[00:12:17] Harry Potter trivia.
[00:12:19] Starts at six o'clock.
[00:12:20] Reservations are required because they do have limited spacing over there.
[00:12:23] So make sure you get onto their Facebook page or call over there and get, uh, signed
[00:12:28] up for that.
[00:12:29] And that's Wednesday, the 6th at six o'clock Harry Potter trivia at the Tangled Vine.
[00:12:34] Mm-hmm.
[00:12:34] And, uh, I wanted to remind everybody that every Monday night at Ignite Brewing Company is
[00:12:40] Sporkle Live Trivia.
[00:12:41] They have games at seven and 8 PM.
[00:12:44] That is free to play.
[00:12:45] They are also tapping their Christmas sale within the next coming week.
[00:12:49] Oh, I believe they're doing that on Thursday.
[00:12:51] I know where Lucas will be.
[00:12:52] Mm-hmm.
[00:12:53] Mm-hmm.
[00:12:53] So you already took the next one then.
[00:12:56] So the tapping is Thursday the 7th at three o'clock.
[00:12:59] Wow.
[00:13:00] Are you going to be over there that early?
[00:13:02] I called off work.
[00:13:03] I'm going to be there.
[00:13:04] Three o'clock.
[00:13:04] It's Thursday afternoon.
[00:13:07] Thank you.
[00:13:08] All right.
[00:13:09] And we're going to need an Uber.
[00:13:10] So if somebody could send an Uber over there by like 3 20, probably that'll be good.
[00:13:16] All right.
[00:13:16] We'll give you until four.
[00:13:17] All right.
[00:13:18] So check out Ignite the Christmas, uh, ale tapping.
[00:13:22] Niners diner, me, uh, mom and me puppy pumpkin painting.
[00:13:30] Do you know?
[00:13:31] 6 PM.
[00:13:32] Do you know who that's by?
[00:13:32] Thursday the 14th.
[00:13:33] What?
[00:13:34] Do you know who that's by?
[00:13:35] I don't.
[00:13:36] I've been practicing.
[00:13:37] It's the pickled pineapple pumpkin puppy painting class.
[00:13:41] You let me struggle through that and you've been practicing.
[00:13:43] Really?
[00:13:45] Oh my gosh.
[00:13:47] Anyway, tickets are only $40.
[00:13:48] Uh, you can get them on event bright.
[00:13:50] Just go to Niners diner Facebook page.
[00:13:53] Again, that's the 14th at six o'clock.
[00:13:57] I'm not even go ahead.
[00:13:58] Do it again.
[00:13:59] One more time.
[00:13:59] The pickled pineapple pumpkin puppy painting class.
[00:14:02] There you go.
[00:14:03] At Niners diner.
[00:14:04] Nailed it.
[00:14:06] I feel like we can't go on after that, but we will.
[00:14:09] Let's go back to the rec center and talk about, uh, beginner flow yoga.
[00:14:14] So Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 15 to 8 15.
[00:14:18] It is $8 for members and $10 for non members, which is a great price.
[00:14:23] Relax your body, mind and soul.
[00:14:26] Uh, new instructor Brittany will be there.
[00:14:27] Please bring your own mat.
[00:14:29] Again, beginner yoga Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 15 to 8 15.
[00:14:33] I did see a bunch of comments on this where people are asking for a nighttime one.
[00:14:37] So maybe they will accommodate that and see if they can get something in there in the future.
[00:14:41] So, um, and I think that's a wrap.
[00:14:46] Wow.
[00:14:47] That's it.
[00:14:47] A lot shorter than last year or last week.
[00:14:50] Yeah.
[00:14:50] Uh, if you know of events in the area or want us to talk about something, please reach out

[00:15:22] And I think we've got a few surprises to share some new stuff.
[00:15:25] So stay tuned.

[00:15:27] Take care of Brunswick.
