[00:00:23] Brunswick Blue Devil Marching Band won Grand Champion at the Sound Spectacular this past weekend.

[00:00:30] Did you hear them play as you drove by or did you step and...

[00:00:35] I did not. I was by in the afternoon and saw, you know, starting to get a little crowded around town.

[00:00:43] So that's good. I hope they had great audiences. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

[00:00:48] And seventh grade football won the conference. After that undefeated season, they went on to win the conference.

[00:00:56] So congratulations.

[00:00:56] We just got a lot of champions in town, huh?

[00:00:58] Mm-hmm.

[00:01:00] So speaking of champions, okay, not the best segue that I've ever done.

[00:01:04] But Kyle and his team of ladies over at the Human Bean...

[00:01:08] Oh, I think I saw a guy in there too, so I shouldn't say that.

[00:01:11] They just killed it. They did like three days worth of revenue in one day.

[00:01:17] They had to close down a little bit early, all for the love of Denise, who's Brunswick School's teacher battling breast cancer.

[00:01:28] Denise is going to be receiving close to $7,200 almost.

[00:01:32] They said the line was literally repped around the building all day long.

[00:01:36] Yeah, but it moved.

[00:01:37] They were in there...

[00:08:13] He was the fire inspector.

[00:08:15] He, uh, jumped to the other side of Brunswick to Hinckley Township.

[00:08:18] Yeah.

[00:08:19] I think he, um, actually, he was with the township and with the city.

[00:08:23] So, he's still doing the city stuff.

[00:08:25] Mm-hmm.

[00:08:25] Just left the township and took on, uh, big shoes to fill from what I understand from the

[00:08:30] previous chief there.

[00:08:31] But if anyone can do it, Matt can do it.

[00:08:32] I'm so excited for him and congratulations, Matt, on the new position.

[00:08:37] It says, oh, he is retiring from Brunswick at the end of the year.

[00:08:41] Yeah.

[00:08:41] So, he'll just do his full-time gig over there in Hinckley.

[00:08:49] And, uh, I saw a post that Brunswick is hiring for their fire department.

[00:08:53] It's a 48-hour work week.

[00:08:55] Got some other benefits here.

[00:08:56] The starting pay is $57,700.

[00:08:59] Uh, after the third year, you make $80,000 plus.

[00:09:03] And then there's a way to apply.

[00:09:05] So, if you're interested in becoming a firefighter for the city of Brunswick, here's that info.

[00:09:10] We had them at Trunk or Treat this past weekend.

[00:09:12] They were amazing.

[00:09:14] There are three guys that Chief Glaner sent over there.

[00:09:16] The guys were just so engaging with the community and just, um, really appreciate the city of Brunswick.

[00:09:23] Fire department.

[00:09:24] Uh, let's see.

[00:09:25] What do you, did you slide another?

[00:09:27] This, this is not Brunswick related.

[00:09:30] It's not even close to Brunswick.

[00:09:31] But my point to this is, so the city of Strongsville government is doing a really good job on their Facebook page.

[00:09:38] I don't know if they find the questions from inside their community groups and then answer them on their, their government page.

[00:09:45] But it says a new restaurant is looking to take over O'Charlie's building.

[00:09:49] Another broken egg cafe, which currently has a restaurant at Crocker park has filed plans in Strongsville.

[00:09:55] And then earlier this week, they also, um, said a lot of people are asking what is going next to the get go on Pearl.

[00:10:02] And they said it was a daycare and gave some information on that.

[00:10:06] So I thought it was really cool that they're, um, being very transparent, uh, engaging in the community and posting in such a manner.

[00:10:13] Yeah.

[00:10:14] And I think, uh,

[00:10:14] It'd be nice to see some of that attraction around home, right?

[00:10:17] Is that what you're getting at?

[00:10:18] Yeah. Brunswick could get a little bit better at, uh, their communication just, uh, on the fly.

[00:10:24] I think the rec center and the parks have started coming around and really doing a good job with that.

[00:12:10] The park master plan, uh, engagement session.

[00:12:15] They finally came up with a rough draft of, uh, all the feedback that, uh, the community

[00:12:20] provided to them through either the survey online or the first in-person meeting.

[00:12:25] And, uh, the results are in the community is concerned about walkability, um, upkeep

[00:12:31] of parks and amenities at the rec center and, um, you know, water features, swimming or,

[00:12:38] or splash pads or stuff like that.

[00:12:40] So they, uh, are going to finalize those plans and get them presented to a city council

[00:12:45] and, uh, see where we go for there.

[00:12:48] Obviously we have to work within our means of the budget.

[00:12:50] So, you know, if we want some extra amenities, we have to find ways to get more money.

[00:12:56] Yeah.

[00:12:56] That'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

[00:12:58] So maybe with some creativity and we'll see what goes on over there.

[00:13:04] And then, uh, North park, there's an update on North park.

[00:13:07] It's looking that one picture, it's looking gorgeous.

[00:13:09] Um, but they're still working on it and park is scheduled to reopen in January.

[00:13:16] They have 60 days complete the dredging as of October 26th.
