[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Alright, episode 72, we are in October.
[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with Rosati's calendar of the month here. Some good stuff here.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_03]: So here's my problem with Rosati's calendar. What if I go on the 14th and want vanilla peanut butter that's listed on the 10th?
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you can do that. They might have it in the to-go box, but you can't do that.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: See, that's my...
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's why you gotta print out the calendar and tape it to your dashboard.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Plan my month accordingly.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Oh my gosh.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of the 14th, they have pumpkin cheesecake roll. And that is probably the day you'll see me there.
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_03]: That one got my attention. That's why I said the 14th.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a pistachio almond on the 24th as well. That one is also highlighted.
[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: And I gotta tell you, the old Honey Hut, the caramel apple crisp that the old Honey Hut had was amazing.
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_03]: So I might have to take that caramel apple crisp, but now, look, it's the day after.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So now I can't have it because that was yesterday or the day before. I don't even know what day it is anymore.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_03]: What's today? Banana, praline, whatever.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It does get out of hand.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Bring back my Honey Hut.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Sunday is pumpkin caramel ginger snap. That sounds good.
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you notice that they painted the roof?
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_03]: No, a lot of them sound great. If you get there on the right day, get at it.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that they painted the roof from red to blue?
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I did see that. Boy, they're taking a hard stand on that, aren't they?
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. There's an yell going back now.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna paint the roof back to red.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, speaking of changes in painting and remodeling and everything,
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_03]: tell us you went to the grand opening for Monarch.
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I went to Monarch Carpet One and Floor grand opening last week, and boy, is it really nice inside.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a little history about their 50 years serving the Brunswick community started as the back of a station wagon.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And I got to stand on what I felt was the softest carpet padding I have ever stood on in my life.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how they did that, but I would give them a shot if you're looking for new flooring of any kind.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: They seemed very friendly and had many, many options.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Very cool. Nice.
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: All right. You're up again. Do this one too.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_03]: This is your kid.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: The 2024 state champions Brunswick Valkyries rugby team participated in the pull-up plane Cleveland.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_01]: The team pulled a Boeing 737 that weighed over 100,000 pounds, and they came in fourth in their division and fifth overall.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: That it was 30 competing teams.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So not too shabby for some high school girls.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: They pulled their heart out and did very well.
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: That was for Special Olympics.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So they were raising money for Special Olympics.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So proud of them for that.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And they also have a calendar that they're selling the whole month of November.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: For $10, you can get a ticket and have the opportunity to win gift cards every single day for the month of November.
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you're interested in that, message me on Facebook.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: But congratulations to them.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_03]: All right. Put me down for one at least.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Doing awesome.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what else we got going on.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: There is a 5K coming up the October 13th.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And that is the Rich.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you know how to say his last name?
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to butcher it.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: W.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Rich W.
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my gosh.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Wuchtala.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Is that it?
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't want to butcher it.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: So scholarship 5K run is going to be Sunday, October 13th at Hinkley Lake.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_03]: And if you'd like to register or even just to donate, if you can, just go to runsignup.com and you can just donate if you'd like.
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyone who's interested combines two of his greatest things, giving to others and his passion for Brunswick sports.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's $35 to participate in either the run or the walk.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Proceeds go to BHS student athletes for scholarships and will be awarded at the Senior Awards Banquet.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody who participates gets a t-shirt and chipped timed bib.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Good stuff.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Moving right along.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, see, this is more my speed.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Here we go.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: The cold brew flight lineup is out spooky style at Niner's Diner.
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So we've got, let me see here, children of the corn, RIP, pumpkin eyes, and no, you hang up.
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Good stuff.
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So I guess I'm heading over there sometime soon.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Go check that out.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I see their patio is decorated.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to get a little bit chillier, but I think you could still weather the patio
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: and probably the igloos are going up soon too.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: So.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And I heard, I got confirmation that no children were harmed in the making of that cold brew.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: That last one looks a little, you know, you hang up kind of thing.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: So let's see.
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_03]: What do we got next?
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_01]: They're still looking for information on the homicide.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: It was deemed a homicide by the coroner on Christian Olson.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Brunswick Hills, Topaz Lane, Medina resident who later was transported to his home in Medina
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: from a party he was attending in Brunswick Hills on Topaz Lane.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: If you have any information, please reach out to Medina police or Brunswick Hills police
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: as I believe they are both actively investigating that incident.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_03]: We saw Sam posted that he was heading down south.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And so he is down there lining up some jobs and doing, I think a few freebies too.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I talked to him earlier this week that he's got a two man crew, including himself, I should
[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_03]: say, with his crane and skid steer.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's down in North Carolina currently helping with the devastation from down there.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So we wish him safe travels and our hearts go out to everybody that's down there going
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_03]: through all this right now.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Very rough.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of people still missing and stuff like that.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But Sam is representing Brunswick down there.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And let's head over to Roger at Houndstown.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll meet Comanche, who's up for adoption.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi, everyone.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_00]: We love what we're doing here.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: We're now up to 25 dogs that we've helped adopt since February with your guys' help out there,
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: sharing posts and spreading the word.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: We certainly appreciate that and we look forward to continuing our relationship with
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Brea Animal Rescue and get all these pups adopted out and finding them in their forever homes.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody have a great weekend and we'll be back at you next week.

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_03]: That's going on through Sunday.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_03]: All game time is half off.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Prizes and giveaways all weekend.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to have a professional race car driver, Kyle Lockrow.
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: They're from 7 to 9 tonight.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And a 24-hour gaming bash from noon to noon from the 5th to the 6th.
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So check them out.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_03]: We interviewed them and visited their location a few weeks ago now, right?
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Lucas was geeking out, literally.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: So love that.
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Brunswick.
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Glad you guys are finally open.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_03]: No fault of your own.
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_03]: So go check them out this weekend if gaming is your thing.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Or if you always wanted to try it, check them out.
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: They've got some really great setups in there.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: If I was a kid and had a birthday party, that would be where I'd want to go.
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish we had those when I was a kid.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: That one room is really cool.
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have too much going on for tonight, Friday night.
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you have a business or you know of a business we're not following on Facebook and you know events, please reach out to us and we will get them added to our roster to follow.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: But tomorrow night, Saturday at 8 p.m., we have Foo Fathers at Manzo's.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Good old rock and roll.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So, very cool.
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_03]: And then moving right along next up on the schedule here.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and we saw these guys too.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_01]: We did.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_03]: So from 7 to 10 tomorrow night is going to be Megaton Communion and Black Moon Cult back at Ignite Brewing Company from 7 to 10 tomorrow night again.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And don't forget to try their flatbreads.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so good.
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's going to be out on the patio, weather permitting.
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_01]: It's still not too cold.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Probably just right patio weather in my opinion.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, throw on a sweatshirt.
[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Go check them out.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And then obviously we have Mapleside's Wild Wild West weekend, October 5th and 6th.
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: You can get all that information on Mapleside's website or Facebook.
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Also, Pumpkin Village is going on.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So, all you cowboys and cowgirls, check it out.
[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So, this is the last weekend for the Heritage Farm Market over at Heritage Farm Museum and Park over on Laurel Road.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So, make sure you check them out.
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to have a canine costume contest that's carried over from last week because of that yucky weather.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_03]: So, stop over there.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Judging will be at 1.30 p.m.
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: And prizes co-sponsored by Bill Jack Foods, Houndstown Brunswick, Kelly's Cafe, and Kim Usley.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_03]: So, check them out.
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Take your pooch up there.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Last Sunday at the farm for this year.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Going on at the same time, at the same place is the Sunday at the Farm Farm Festival.
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_01]: That starts at 10 a.m. and goes all the way till 5 p.m.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Pumpkins, hay rides, corn stalks, face painting, raffles, refreshments, children's trick or treat.
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, all the vendors that are there.
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And free tours of the farmhouse museum.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a neat place.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_03]: That's like a little hidden gem kind of thing.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_03]: It is.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish the historical society was a little easier to find.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Moving around town, go into the township and you've got the Brunswick Hills Fire Department open house, which is going to be Sunday from 12 to 3.
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And that is almost going to have a touch a truck kind of vibe, they said this year.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_03]: So, come see your local firefighters and fire trucks.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Visit Southwest General Hospital, Brunswick Dairy Queen.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Home Depot is going to be there with a craft.
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_03]: You can watch a car extrication event where they use the jaws of life and tear apart the car and stuff like that.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_03]: So, that is over at fire station number two, which is at the corner of substation in Grafton.
[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_03]: And again, that is Sunday from 12 to 3.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And they have a shuttle for parking there.
[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Good reminder, I keep forgetting about that because I live so close.
[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Just walk over there.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And a little bit later down the road at the Brunswick Library on Tuesday, October 8th from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m., the Justice Bus will be in the parking lot in partnership with the community, legal aid to assist seniors in creating wills, powers of attorneys, living wills and more.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Pre-registration is required at 330-273-4150.
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_01]: But that resource will be available to seniors that day.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Very cool.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a very, very neat service that they offer.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: That's cool.
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go back to rugby.
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Looks like they're having a fundraiser at Chipotle this Tuesday from 5 to 9.
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_03]: So 25, does that say 25%?
[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_03]: 25%.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a lot.
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: 25% of event sales get donated back to the Brunswick Rugby Club.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_03]: So check them out.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Dinner at Chipotle this Tuesday from 5 to 9.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a great deal.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And you can order online and use code NZ6NQ6X to also...
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like we're doing an eye test.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I did.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I had to zoom in.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my goodness.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, check them out.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_03]: That's for a great cause.
[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_03]: That would be the state champs, by the way.
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't...
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's not...
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: You know.
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_03]: We gotta keep saying that every time.
[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Brunswick Rugby Club.
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And this Monday, the Wooden Nickel has October themed trivia.
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: It's that time of the year.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So top 10 horror movies of all times will be in the questions.
