[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:00:10] One day I hope to call you on Zoom or something.
[00:00:12] We can do that.
[00:00:13] Not today.
[00:00:15] Maybe Episode 50, because this is Episode 49.
[00:00:20] Let's go.
[00:00:21] What are we at?
[00:00:24] We got a lot of cookies.
[00:00:28] We're just going to jump right into it with over 2,000 cookies from Ohio Pie.
[00:00:32] We're delivering to the calves this past week.
[00:00:35] That's wild.
[00:00:36] Last week I think?
[00:00:37] Yeah, that's a lot of cookies.
[00:00:38] I mean he did post a video of her, the cookie lady making the cookies in the middle of the
[00:00:42] night or whatever.
[00:00:44] It was in fast forward so how long would it take to make 2200 cookies?
[00:00:47] I don't know.
[00:00:48] It's not like it was all the same one either.
[00:00:50] I hope they gave her a couple days off after that.
[00:00:53] Right.
[00:00:54] That's a lot of cookies.
[00:00:55] That's crazy.
[00:00:56] Well congratulations to Ohio Pie for landing that sweet deal.
[00:01:00] See what I did there.
[00:01:02] Sweet deal.
[00:01:03] Speaking of sweet deals, Bronzwick Nazarene Church did something really sweet and really
[00:01:09] awesome.
[00:01:10] They did a free laundry day last weekend where you could go to the laundromat.
[00:01:15] What was this?
[00:01:16] A little square I think right?
[00:01:18] Yeah.
[00:01:19] The one in Little Square.
[00:01:20] And they did big pay-free laundry all day long.
[00:01:24] Yeah.
[00:01:25] They offered free detergent and dryer sheets as well.
[00:01:28] Just out of the goodness of their heart.
[00:01:30] Right?
[00:01:31] Yeah.
[00:01:32] That is amazing.
[00:01:34] And if you're looking to do something out of the goodness of your heart, Medina County
[00:01:38] District Library is having a macaroni and cheese drive.
[00:01:43] They are accepting boxes and cups for the next couple weeks and the donations are going
[00:01:47] to Feeding Medina County and helping local residents.
[00:01:50] Who doesn't?
[00:01:51] So we seem to have a sweet theme here so let's keep it up.
[00:01:54] Ready?
[00:01:55] Yeah.
[00:01:56] I might have to pry this.
[00:01:58] I wasn't going to try Rosati's frozen custard because I'm a die-hard honey-hut but the peanut
[00:02:04] butter, fudgy thing that they posted.
[00:02:08] Yeah.
[00:02:09] I don't know.
[00:02:11] That's looking pretty.
[00:02:12] Not going to lie it's pretty good.
[00:02:13] It's pretty good.
[00:02:14] Yeah.
[00:02:15] I've been there about three times now.
[00:02:17] I think that was visit number two.
[00:02:20] Yeah.
[00:02:21] Was it?
[00:02:22] My husband came home the other night and he's like, there is a line wrapped
[00:02:26] out to the street in the new place and I'm like, yeah, spend that way a couple of times.
[00:02:30] So yeah.
[00:02:31] Good for them.
[00:02:32] I'm still a little reluctant but I will give it a try.
[00:02:36] My wife was team honey-hut now she's team DQ and I think I'm team Rosati so they'll
[00:02:42] both probably see us all summer long in between the visits from the ice cream truck.
[00:02:46] Options are good.
[00:02:47] Options are good.
[00:02:48] So sweet and savory.
[00:02:49] What do we got for on the savory side now?
[00:02:53] All Caesar's finally opened up on Monday.
[00:02:58] Just finally.
[00:02:59] Yeah.
[00:03:00] Haven't been yet but my wife is demanding the, what is it, pizza knots?
[00:03:07] I don't know.
[00:03:08] Something, people start, I don't know, they're talking about hofs or something.
[00:03:12] I don't know.
[00:03:13] I don't know.
[00:03:14] You better get them for her.
[00:03:15] Oh, she's getting them.
[00:03:16] So, hurry we'll have to try those two.
[00:03:20] I'll add that to my list.
[00:03:22] Rosati's being filmed the same day as Rosati's.
[00:03:25] Did you see there was a sighting at Brunswick Lake of a, what is that?
[00:03:31] A bird.
[00:03:32] Is it a bald eagle?
[00:03:33] It's a bald eagle.
[00:03:35] It's just our national, you know.
[00:03:37] There it is.
[00:03:38] I didn't zoom in.
[00:03:39] Wow.
[00:03:40] Nice picture of them too.
[00:03:42] That is amazing looking.
[00:03:44] Just something you don't see every day but Dan Horvath caught it on camera and
[00:03:52] got to appreciate it in real life.
[00:03:53] So, that's pretty cool.
[00:03:55] Keep your eye open for that over on Brunswick Lake.
[00:03:57] Yeah.
[00:03:58] Jumping around here.
[00:03:59] They are still hiring for Mission Barbecue.
[00:04:03] We're going to be in touch with them and do a little bit of sneak peek over there.
[00:04:07] We'll pop in and see how progress is coming along and report back to you but we're
[00:04:12] gonna meet with Dan.
[00:04:14] They reached out to us and we're excited to be part of the community and if you're
[00:04:19] looking for something they are in just about six days a week I think.
[00:04:23] You can go over there and fill out an application or do it online.
[00:04:26] Cool, cool, cool.
[00:04:27] They started to tear down a Willets.
[00:04:29] Said to see Willets go but progress, progress, progress.
[00:04:33] Looks like Towsley will be shortly thereafter.
[00:04:36] We didn't have to rename this city like the city of fences because there's one
[00:04:43] up at Towsley now, one up at Willets and what's the over and under of that
[00:04:48] one will go up in the law square again?
[00:04:50] Oh, it's not going to happen.
[00:04:51] You don't think?
[00:04:52] No, I think the car shell can...
[00:04:54] Well, I mean what was it last year?
[00:04:56] I emailed the property owner.
[00:04:59] I went above the property management company and I don't even know if she
[00:05:04] knew what was going on with the property manager.
[00:05:07] She was pretty understanding of what I was saying.
[00:05:11] She didn't really give any more details but we'll see.
[00:05:13] We'll see.
[00:05:14] We'll see.
[00:05:15] What else we got?
[00:05:16] Well, this was a very controversial post.
[00:05:19] I put it as anti cop Adam but a gentleman posted a video of...
[00:05:28] Looks like, I don't know if that was him getting arrested or somebody in handcuffs who he just
[00:05:35] said that he wanted people to know about the Blue Line Gang and he didn't think we
[00:05:40] would allow it through.
[00:05:41] Well, the full disclosure, I did not.
[00:05:44] The first one or the first two maybe and then you said, well go ahead and put it through.
[00:05:50] He's allowed his opinion so not everything can be reimbursed.
[00:05:55] Right.
[00:05:56] Probably dogs.
[00:05:57] Yeah, just like a business review for a restaurant he was reviewing the service he received
[00:06:02] from the Brunswick Police Department.
[00:06:04] Now, I mean, I've always received some great service from the Brunswick Police
[00:06:08] Department.
[00:06:09] That's true.
[00:06:10] Don't we have that rule that you have to say how you tried to do a negative review for
[00:06:17] a restaurant?
[00:06:18] Oh yeah.
[00:06:19] You spoke to the manager?
[00:06:20] I don't know.
[00:06:21] Well, this same guy always comes in complaining about Mayor Falcone hiring so-and-so or hiring
[00:06:29] so he didn't quite understand how our city government works but Mayor Falcone doesn't
[00:06:35] hire...
[00:06:36] You got to have your say in this.
[00:06:38] This will be the only time you get to have your say on this topic.
[00:06:44] You got it out there so good luck to you and my advice would be don't do anything that
[00:06:48] you need the cops to come and help to you about.
[00:06:50] Yes, I don't know.
[00:06:52] Yeah, that was a wild post.
[00:06:54] Hey, Batman got adopted over at Hunstown here in Brunswick with Roger.
[00:07:00] He saw that.
[00:07:01] How awesome is that?
[00:07:02] Yeah.
[00:07:03] I think we're going to talk to you from Roger about the new puppy.
[00:07:07] Yeah, let's do it right now.
[00:07:08] It's available.
[00:07:09] Okay, awesome.
[00:07:10] Hey, Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:07:12] It's Roger from Hunstown.
[00:07:13] Appreciate all your help over these last few months in helping us work alongside
[00:07:17] Brea Animal Rescue to help get various foster dogs we've had in here adopted.
[00:07:22] As of now through about two and a half months, you guys have in your listeners
[00:07:27] have helped us adopt out 10 dogs so that's wonderful.
[00:07:32] This week we have Sarge with us.
[00:07:34] Sarge is an eight year old male cunehound mix.
[00:07:37] He's a good old boy.
[00:07:39] He's doing great in the packs that we've put him in with and again just encourage anyone
[00:07:45] to visit our Hunstown Brunswick site.
[00:07:48] They can see the information on a couple of other social sites out there but would
[00:07:53] love to have anybody come in and do a meet and greet that might be interested
[00:07:56] in adopting Sarge.
[00:07:58] So just as a reminder, Brea Animal Rescue does have many other dogs and cats that are up for
[00:08:04] adoption so feel free to go visit their website.
[00:08:08] And here at Hunstown your first day is always free so if anybody out there has any dogs
[00:08:13] that they would like to possibly explore the idea of doggy daycare or overnight boarding
[00:08:18] needs, we invite you in for your first day free to check us out, see how your
[00:08:22] dog does and for us to ensure that your dog can work in our fully interactive
[00:08:27] environment we have here.
[00:08:28] So another great week and everybody have a great weekend and I'll give you another update next week.
[00:08:35] We'll talk to you soon.
[00:08:36] Thanks so much.
[00:08:39] All right that's Sarge if you're interested in him check him out over at Hunstown Cleveland.
[00:08:43] You can also contact the Brea Animal Rescue.
[00:08:46] Do you see the tongue on that dog?
[00:08:48] He's just so stinking adorable.
[00:08:51] So hopefully doing pretty good getting them adopted out so.
[00:08:55] Let's keep going here.
[00:08:56] Let's go right into events to do in the 2-1-2.
[00:08:59] All right events to do in the 2-1-2 here we go.
[00:09:03] So I can't believe this one didn't pop up on your radar 2024 Medina beer Fest.
[00:09:08] So night brewing is participating in this it'll be Saturday the 27th tomorrow and
[00:09:15] Medina County Community Center Fairgrounds Community Center 630 to 1030 again Medina
[00:09:22] beer Fest go check out Ignite and some of the other breweries.
[00:09:26] 35 breweries and 70 craft beers.
[00:09:29] Really?
[00:09:30] Yeah.
[00:09:31] How did you miss that?
[00:09:32] I'm not sure but I'm sure it's what you found for me.
[00:09:35] I got you.
[00:09:40] I got you.
[00:09:41] Here's one Manzo's has modern vinyl making its debut.
[00:09:45] That's the same night Saturday April 27th 8 p.m. to midnight.
[00:09:49] No I've never met a modern vinyl but it looks like a pretty good rock band.
[00:09:53] You might have to huh?
[00:09:54] You might have to.
[00:09:56] So Mother's Day is right around the corner and Tangled Vine is just killing it with
[00:10:00] their events they've just got event after event after event over there so one of the
[00:10:05] things is Mother's Day flower candle workshop at the Tangled Vine and that's Tuesday
[00:10:09] May 7th at 6 and we're just gonna I'm gonna give you one more then I'm just
[00:10:13] gonna tell you to just go over to Tangled Vine Facebook page there's too many of the
[00:10:19] lists there's too many to list the other one is Friday May 3rd and it's a chunky
[00:10:24] knit blanket class so go to Tangled Vine for more information.
[00:10:30] Yeah they do so many events and I don't know how they get this thing but
[00:10:34] next to theirs unlike most it says Superhost.
[00:10:37] Wow.
[00:10:38] So they must do so many events that um yeah that they got that.
[00:10:41] They've earned that distinction.
[00:10:43] Well speaking of Superhost, Ignite Brewing want to remind everybody that they have
[00:10:49] trivia on Monday evenings from 7 to 9. Every Monday I think that question came
[00:10:54] up the other day and who has trivia but I think they were looking for a
[00:10:58] Tuesday so if you were looking for something to do on a Monday because
[00:11:00] usually everything else is closed head over to Ignite and do their trivia.
[00:11:05] And it says 7 to 9 but it's actually 7 and another one at 8 o'clock so it's
[00:11:10] not like all night long trivia you know some of those trivia's you can really
[00:11:14] get into and get stuck into it but these are only hour long and I believe they
[00:11:20] still give a prize at the end of each one.
[00:11:21] Yeah what else we got?
[00:11:23] We got the Township Cleanup Weekend May 10th 11th and 12th the service
[00:11:28] department is open for trash yard waste, metal and car batteries.
[00:11:32] Contractor bags are available at the Brunswick Hills Police Department
[00:11:35] for the community cleanup and the police department lobby will be open
[00:11:39] for shredding and medication drop-off. ID is required as this is a township only
[00:11:44] event so I guess I'm out but the city of Brunswick did have a parks cleanup to
[00:11:49] celebrate Earth Day last weekend.
[00:11:51] Yeah I saw Vice Mayor Hannick, Councilman, Council President, how many go?
[00:12:06] And winding it down earlier this week that the Memorial Day Parade will take place
[00:12:13] 27th of May at 9 o'clock all scout troops and units are invited to attend the
[00:12:20] ceremony and march in the parade please be at Brunswick Middle School in
[00:12:25] classy uniforms if you're a scout at 8 30 a.m. Contact Chris Altman with any
[00:12:30] questions and I did ask if is it just for scouts and he said the event is
[00:12:36] for everyone but scouts are invited to march with the VFW and American Legion
[00:12:40] and they do put on a really nice ceremony after the parade.
[00:12:44] Yeah so the last thing we want to talk about we kicked off and we're
[00:12:50] kicked off earlier this week and we're winding it down and that is the story
[00:12:53] that everyone's been following about the Lefebvre Lefebvre I'm gonna say it
[00:12:58] wrong oh my gosh the family Kimberly Liam and Keenan Kimberly the mom
[00:13:04] donated her kidney to her 18-month-old Liam and so we are supporting them with
[00:13:11] an auction and the auction is winding down it's in its final days it ends
[00:13:14] Sunday at 6 so please go over and bid we've got currently over 30 some items
[00:13:20] and we've been adding all week long so if you haven't looked at it lately go
[00:13:24] check it out saw her on Channel 19 earlier this week story on them so that
[00:13:30] was that was pretty cool there's something in there for everybody from
[00:13:33] horse riding lessons to gift cards to what else we got in there
[00:13:39] there's even a $500 gift card for and a bunch of swag merchandise from big three
[00:13:49] racing and if you don't have a performance vehicle they do other stuff
[00:13:53] just to like Chevy's and Toyota's like oil changes and stuff so if you got a
[00:13:58] $500 gift card for me a couple hundred bucks that's that's some
[00:14:02] dude that's some good deals over there on some car repair so yeah your car
[00:14:05] maintenance I should say it's really nice of the community coming together to
[00:14:09] donate that stuff you know she's gonna be out of work I'm sure she had they
[00:14:13] have medical bills to pay but yeah I want to talk to her last week and we
[00:14:18] you know so we were gonna get this together she said that her mom quit
[00:14:22] her job so she could help with Liam so you know there's a lot of support
[00:14:27] you know that they really could use from the meal train going Matt over at
[00:14:33] is it but arts but arts and we say it right oh my gosh I'm so sorry Matt I
[00:14:37] butchered it I think landscaping is taking care of their lawn until they
[00:14:40] get back up on their feet and so I mean it's one thing that Brunswick does I
[00:14:44] think better than any other community I really and I'm not just saying that
[00:14:48] I really do believe that is you know yeah there can be a hot mess but we
[00:14:54] better through even if you can't get over to the auction and bid you can share
[00:14:59] it you can send some positive messages and check it out just go to the event
[00:15:04] page and go under the discussion tab and you'll see all the auction items listed
[00:15:07] there and the bids are coming in because I get notification whenever
[00:15:12] anyone comments so they're it's been going crazy all week long nice so I
[00:15:16] think that's about it you got anything else no that's it we just we just
[00:15:20] cracked 620 subscribers on YouTube so I was excited about that so if you're not
[00:15:26] subscribed make sure you get over there hit the subscribe button hit the like
