[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:00:06] All right Kimberly, welcome back to the podcast.
[00:00:13] Well thank you, thank you to your lovely wife for filling in.
[00:00:18] Yes, I certainly missed it.
[00:00:19] So we guys got to do it again together?
[00:00:20] Yeah, we did for the second time.
[00:00:23] She enjoyed it thoroughly.
[00:00:26] And sure, it went for a long time too.
[00:00:31] It did.
[00:00:32] It was a good 20 minutes.
[00:00:35] Oh my gosh.
[00:00:37] All right, enough of this.
[00:00:38] We've got a lot.
[00:00:39] We have a jam packed.
[00:00:41] It is the most content I've ever seen.
[00:00:43] I've got so many screens open here.
[00:00:45] Let's just dive right into it.
[00:00:47] It might be so long we might just not even cut anything out.
[00:00:50] I might not even edit this week.
[00:00:52] You mean we're going to do it raw?
[00:00:54] Just do it uncensored raw.
[00:00:57] If you say something uncensored, you know, there you go.
[00:01:02] All right, well let's get to it.
[00:01:04] Come on, enough of this.
[00:01:06] Spring Mist is in our radar again.
[00:01:09] They've got another baby over there.
[00:01:11] Welcome baby Groot.
[00:01:13] Another calf that was born over there.
[00:01:18] And just a reminder, Spring Mist is one of the last local farms around
[00:01:23] and they will have some hours coming up soon.
[00:01:26] Usually Wednesdays and Saturdays I think so make sure you support them.
[00:01:30] Yeah.
[00:01:31] And moving right along.
[00:01:32] What have we got?
[00:01:33] We've got Little Caesars.
[00:01:34] Finally has an official opening target date.
[00:01:37] And that date is April 22nd.
[00:01:40] A lot of people do not think we need another pizza place.
[00:01:44] Some people like Little Caesars Pizza.
[00:01:47] I can go either way.
[00:01:49] My wife said there was some kind of knots there that she wants to try
[00:01:52] that she's been seeing commercials about.
[00:01:54] So I don't know, we'll probably end up trying again.
[00:01:58] But finally they've been closed forever and there was supposed to be a wing stop going there.
[00:02:02] Like they took everything out and then now it's back to Little Caesars.
[00:02:06] So I don't know what happened there or why it took so long but...
[00:02:09] Hurray.
[00:02:10] Well it looks nice.
[00:02:11] Looks like it's coming along and I'll have to find something else to post about.
[00:02:17] Yeah.
[00:02:18] How about this eclipse photo?
[00:02:20] This is beautiful.
[00:02:24] One of Brunswick's own Gabe doing the total solar eclipse photo
[00:02:31] downtown Cleveland he specializes I think in Cleveland landscapes.
[00:02:35] And this is of course the terminal tower with the Cleveland Indians.
[00:02:43] Yes, I'm going to say it.
[00:02:45] Cleveland Indians flag flying high and proud there I think for the opening.
[00:02:51] Beautiful picture.
[00:02:53] Just very talented young man.
[00:02:55] Indeed.
[00:02:56] Refuge gaming is celebrating their two year anniversary.
[00:03:00] You remember when we did the interview, the very in-depth interview about a year ago.
[00:03:06] We did.
[00:03:07] I'll put a link to that down below here.
[00:03:09] But congratulations to them.
[00:03:11] I'll put a link to that down below here.
[00:03:13] You're...
[00:03:19] Hello?
[00:03:20] Hello.
[00:03:24] Did you fall asleep again?
[00:03:26] I did.
[00:03:27] And I collapsed again.
[00:03:29] It's a real thing.
[00:03:31] It's been a rough week, I know.
[00:03:33] So speaking of anniversaries, congratulations to the Grounded Bean.
[00:03:36] Turns one this past weekend.
[00:03:40] Congratulations to them.
[00:03:41] They've got some specials and stuff like that going on still through the 15th.
[00:03:46] Yeah, dollar off all specials.
[00:03:47] And all of April and raffles and all sorts of good stuff.
[00:03:50] Yeah, good stuff.
[00:03:51] So check them out.
[00:03:55] What else we got?
[00:03:56] What else we got?
[00:03:57] We got a road closure.
[00:03:58] What do you tell me?
[00:03:59] We got a road closure.
[00:04:01] Marks Road.
[00:04:03] Monday, April 29th for 60 days.
[00:04:07] That's a long time.
[00:04:08] Yeah, that's between Creeside Boulevard and Wegman over there near the Wooden Nickel.
[00:04:15] Yeah, that is a long time.
[00:04:18] Yeah.
[00:04:19] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:04:20] Maybe they can get it where they can go down to One Lane with a traffic light or something,
[00:04:24] but that's going to be rough.
[00:04:26] But we'll keep reminding you guys about that coming up.
[00:04:29] Next up, we got a...
[00:04:31] Medina's Got Talent Auditions.
[00:04:34] Opened for ages 8 through 18.
[00:04:37] Medina County Residents.
[00:04:40] May 23rd and 24th.
[00:04:42] We'll tell you about that again.
[00:04:45] Performance date is in June.
[00:04:46] We'll remind you about the auditions coming up because you can win some money.
[00:04:49] Yeah, we're looking for all kinds of talent from singers to dancers to martial arts to ventriloquists
[00:04:55] and probably anything in between.
[00:04:57] So if you got a special talent, check that out.
[00:05:01] Yeah, it looks like a good time.
[00:05:03] Oh, here's one that's not so much of a good time, but probably is very knowledgeable.
[00:05:10] Something you can take on.
[00:05:12] Stream Stewards Certification.
[00:05:16] At the Medina County Soil and Water Conservation District.
[00:05:20] The cost of the program is $65 and you can increase your skills and make a difference
[00:05:26] on learning about Ohio's waterways and how they impact native plants and landscape
[00:05:35] and how to protect the water.
[00:05:37] That's a class available if you're interested.
[00:05:41] Be interested?
[00:05:45] Probably speaking of water too, we should throw in there that you were in touch with earlier this week
[00:05:49] with some council members about getting some help for the turtles over at North Park, right?
[00:05:55] Yeah, there was a lot of posts about dying fish and turtles at the dredge, or not the dredge,
[00:06:02] the drained North Park.
[00:06:04] I don't know if we saw the video of the giant turtle being saved.
[00:06:08] It turns out later on in the week someone else posted a photo of the deceased carcass.
[00:06:15] So he was stuck in the mud, they tossed him back into what's little left of the water
[00:06:20] and he was found on the side of the lake again dead.
[00:06:24] There's probably not enough food to sustain life in there.
[00:06:31] So that's been being addressed hopefully, and thanks to you for going to the councilman, council persons.
[00:06:44] There's a lot of times if it's posted on Facebook, they don't know about it.
[00:06:47] So I wanted to make sure they knew about it.
[00:06:51] Here's an event I saw posted, Brunswick 2 Value.
[00:06:55] Now through Saturday is having customer appreciation day, free giveaways and grilling demos.
[00:07:02] Saturday is family day with police and fire departments, kid activities, giveaways and a food truck.
[00:07:08] And they have 20% off your entire purchase through Saturday, excluding some of the things.
[00:07:15] I went last year, I think I had a free hot dog and there was a bunch of giveaways that I entered for.
[00:07:22] I didn't win but it was a good time.
[00:07:24] And they are very knowledgeable there.
[00:07:27] I used to manage a hardware store, I used to manage Sears hardware back in my younger days.
[00:07:33] I do love a good hardware store.
[00:07:36] I kind of miss those days.
[00:07:38] It's good that we still have one in town.
[00:07:40] So let's go support them, it's great time to save a little bit of money, get a free hot dog because what is your motto?
[00:07:47] If it's free, it's for me.
[00:07:49] And they have a lot of unique parts and nuts and bolts and stuff that you can't find at the bigger locations.
[00:07:58] So even taking a spin through that place so it's in the back of your head of what you can get there.
[00:08:04] It would be a good idea and that would be a good weekend to do it.
[00:08:07] Oh, good.
[00:08:09] What else?
[00:08:10] All right, we got the place routines is looking for some donations because I know this is going to come as a surprise as to every parent out there but teams like to eat.
[00:08:19] So they're very busy and active drop in center over there and they have events.
[00:08:25] So if anyone has any extra single portion bags of chips or pretzels or snacks or anything like that trail mix or anything, you can drop it off between 230 and 630 on Thursdays.
[00:08:39] We also have programs going Monday from 630 to 830 and Tuesdays from 230 to 530.
[00:08:45] So if that doesn't work just PM them directly and they'll arrange for a time for you to drop that off.
[00:08:51] Yeah, and we interviewed the place for teens earlier last year as well.
[00:08:55] I'll drop that link below.
[00:08:57] They provide a great service to I would say middle school age kids after school activities to keep them out of trouble and smart thinking.
[00:09:09] Yeah, so guess who's coming back to town?
[00:09:13] Oh, the lobster truck, the lobster.
[00:09:18] You can't say it right. But anyway, cousins of Maine Lobster be back next Thursday from 12 to 7. They love us. They're coming like every 2 to 3 weeks.
[00:09:28] So yeah, I heard they bought another. I heard they actually got another truck just for the Cleveland area.
[00:09:33] Yeah, I believe it. I believe it because I think they were at tractor supply the other day this week and then you know next week they'll be at Brunswick town center.
[00:09:44] They're loving our area. So go give them some love. Try the lobster tacos if you haven't tried them.
[00:09:52] Yeah, I think we're doing pretty good so far. No one that we're not adding this other than that little nap I took earlier.
[00:10:01] I think we're doing okay. Let's keep going.
[00:10:04] All right, let's go. Go ahead.
[00:10:06] The opening of Volunteers of America is happening next Thursday, 8.30 AM.
[00:10:14] We have...
[00:10:15] So you go shopping and then go get lobster.
[00:10:18] Yeah, fill of Volunteer of America tote for $40 for the first 50 customers in line. They got a raffle for a new 55 inch TV, hundreds of free items to find in the store.
[00:10:29] They're going to price some stuff up for free and a raffle every hour for $25 gift certificates and the door is open at 8.30 AM.
[00:10:38] They're just moving across the street.
[00:10:40] Yeah, I mean it's looking really nice and I wish them much success in the new location.
[00:10:47] You peep them through those windows too?
[00:10:49] Maybe.
[00:10:51] Maybe not. Maybe.
[00:10:54] It's a busy day. You can drop the kids off at Glow Night at Brunswick Skate Station and then go get your lobster if you'd like.
[00:11:03] So, 6.30 to 8.30, Glow Night, come one, come all it says.

[00:11:28] And a good time. She'll be had by all.
[00:11:31] Another good time for kids. They have a free family Lego night next Friday that actually tonight, 6.30 to 8.00 PM at Brunswick Nazarene Church next to the post office.
[00:11:46] Giant tarps with Legos on it, tables for building and Lego wall to add to.
[00:11:51] I wonder how many Legos I had? I love those as a kid.
[00:11:55] Yeah, it says there's no age limit, no need to register. Last year they had over 50 preschool to adults so come one and come all.
[00:12:04] Here's a dime to donate over at Applebee's, 15% off your check or 15% of your check.
[00:12:11] We'll go to the Brunswick Middle School and High School Orchestra.

[00:12:22] Or you can order online at Applebee's.com and in the checkout enter promo code doing good 1G.

[00:13:07] There's themed trivia over at the Wood Nickel. It's the Big Bang Theory. You watch that show?
[00:13:15] I have. I think I've seen every episode.
[00:13:19] I don't know if I would be great at it but I would know some of the answers.
[00:13:23] Ever since we went to that crime one, Trivia has put me in my place. I'll tell you. I never felt so dumb.
[00:13:33] Monday, April 15th at 6.45 PM over at the Wood Nickel. So if you're into Big Bang Theory, you think you got the answers?
[00:13:42] Check that out otherwise they do do trivia on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well. Just not themed.

[00:15:59] It's absolutely true.
[00:16:01] How did we just belt out 20 things already?
[00:16:04] Oh, well we got one more. I got here.

[00:16:37] Hmm.
[00:16:38] That sounds like fun.
[00:16:40] Did it say free? What's going on here?
[00:16:42] Say what?
[00:16:43] There's no price. Is it free?
[00:16:45] Well, you might have to buy your meal.
[00:16:48] You got a buy a meal?
[00:16:50] Yeah, I think well you don't have to buy a meal. I mean you can go just bring a shirt up and stuff like that but we hope that you support them and you know.
[00:16:57] Huh, that's really cool.
[00:16:59] Just says one time will you be joining us and how many are coming so they just want to get a general idea so they don't have like 50 people show up at 6.
[00:17:07] That's awesome.
[00:17:08] I don't have a tie to the shirt.
[00:17:10] Well, there you go.
[00:17:12] You and Aaron should go make one together.
[00:17:15] So what do you think without having to edit the podcast? You think we did a good job everybody?
[00:17:21] We'll hear it in the comments. Let us know. Should we go back to cutting out the ums and ahs and extra time in between and you know.
[00:17:30] Luke is falling asleep.
