[00:00.000 --> 00:06.720] Welcome to The Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly. [00:30.000 --> 00:35.280] Welcome to The Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly. [00:35.280 --> 00:40.560] This is Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly. [00:40.560 --> 00:45.120] This is Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly. [00:45.120 --> 00:49.840] This is Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly. [00:49.840 --> 00:53.120] This is Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly. [00:53.120 --> 00:56.640] This is Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly, Lucas and Kimberly. [00:56.640 --> 01:01.920] Yeah, go check them out. Exactly. So one opens and another one dies. [01:01.920 --> 01:05.920] Right. KFC number one or two or the one on Pearl Road. [01:05.920 --> 01:10.800] Yeah, they just put all that work into it and then COVID hit and just couldn't put the life [01:10.800 --> 01:16.560] back into it. And some people said that they were out of stuff a lot. And so we'll see what [01:16.560 --> 01:21.520] becomes of that building. Yeah, the guy wrote, it died like it lived, lights on and nobody's home. [01:22.320 --> 01:25.440] That is that's perfect, actually. Brunswick. [01:28.480 --> 01:31.840] You know, we're supposed to have two of everything, you know, we have two water towers. So we have [01:31.840 --> 01:35.600] the curse of two. Now we only have one KFC. So KFC needs to get on the program. [01:36.160 --> 01:41.040] Don't worry. We all like to see there. There was a lot of comments. What would I like to see [01:41.040 --> 01:50.160] there? You know, I'd like to see rallies or Panda Express or Popeyes or Panda Express. [01:50.880 --> 01:56.320] Hello, but I don't have to wish I know plans last night were submitted at the planning [01:56.320 --> 02:01.840] commission meeting for the city to put a new drive through restaurant next to Wendy's in [02:01.840 --> 02:06.640] the Marx Plaza checking out the papers. It appears that that's going to be a Panda Express. [02:06.640 --> 02:10.000] You heard it here. One drive through dies. Another one opens. [02:10.000 --> 02:15.840] Right. So I don't know what they could do with this one, maybe put a Popeyes in or something [02:15.840 --> 02:20.080] like that. But in the meantime, we'll have we'll look forward to Panda Express [02:20.080 --> 02:23.840] starting their build over there next to Wendy's. Something I've gone to KFC [02:23.840 --> 02:27.120] over the next couple of years. I'm sure it won't stay empty for part of your [02:27.120 --> 02:31.920] pro road corridor build. It's happening. It's happening. The rejuvenation of pro road. [02:31.920 --> 02:37.360] Hey, donut land. Donut land is closing. And how do you say that word? What is what word? [02:37.360 --> 02:41.440] How do you say that? Poonchki? Poonchki? Poonchki? Poonchki? Which one is Poonchki? I don't know. [02:41.440 --> 02:44.720] It's a lot of arguments. Call us up and tell us. Call in and tell us. [02:44.720 --> 02:50.320] But donut land is not actually closing, but they are going to stop serving donuts and fancies [02:50.320 --> 02:55.760] during a couple of days of their Poonchki week. So Poonchki sale starts February 8th and goes [02:55.760 --> 03:00.640] through February 14th. And then on two days, Monday the 12th and of course Fat Tuesday, [03:00.640 --> 03:05.680] they won't be selling any donuts or fancies. It will be Poonchki's only. So those things are [03:05.680 --> 03:10.080] delicious. Don't go in there and want 20 dozen and then complain because it's not ready. [03:10.880 --> 03:16.560] You ran a caramel cinnamon apple and that's the only one of the 43 flavors you had that I wanted. [03:18.800 --> 03:26.080] Hashtag one coupon only. No coupons on the Poonchki. All right. Anyway, [03:26.080 --> 03:30.400] all right. I'm still talking about food. What's this next one about? Do you do you follow Thirsty's [03:30.400 --> 03:36.640] drive through the drive through? I do. They have some really creative posts. He's doing a great [03:36.800 --> 03:42.960] job. I don't know who's doing that, but he is on my humor level or she. Every single post, [03:42.960 --> 03:47.760] I think it's hilarious. So follow Thirsty's drive through if you want to laugh. Anyway, [03:47.760 --> 03:53.920] what else we got? The city of Brunswick during their city council meeting, the city manager [03:53.920 --> 03:58.000] spoke about door to door soliciting. And we've had a lot of posts about this too, [03:58.000 --> 04:04.000] or weirdo weirdos, where people are coming to residence doors and they don't have badges. [04:04.080 --> 04:08.400] Sometimes they're afraid to open it. Under what circumstances are they allowed to solicit? [04:08.400 --> 04:12.240] And he spelled it out clearly. You want to hear it? Yeah, let's hear it. Let's hear it. [04:16.160 --> 04:21.840] Mr. Vice Mayor, I, I stay very briefly for the based on the city manager report. I've had, [04:21.840 --> 04:28.480] I've had a number of residents call me about solicitors coming to the door. And I know that [04:28.480 --> 04:32.960] we've, this council and prior councils have taken a lot of effort to putting into [04:33.760 --> 04:37.840] if someone soliciting to your door, they have to have a license with the city of Brunswick. [04:37.840 --> 04:43.040] You can't just come and solicit. And I guess my question is for the city manager, [04:43.040 --> 04:48.320] when somebody has somebody coming to their door who is claiming to be a solicitor and they do [04:48.320 --> 04:53.360] not have a permit or they do not show you a permit and that's not allowed in Brunswick, [04:53.360 --> 04:57.440] what's the next step for that resident? The next step serves contact the division [04:57.440 --> 05:04.640] of police at 330-225-9111, give your location, a callback number in case you get disconnected, [05:04.640 --> 05:13.520] and description of the bad guy, describe Brian Lissick, and direction of travel when they leave. [05:13.520 --> 05:17.280] If they leave in a motor vehicle, try to get their license plate. Any descriptors that would [05:17.280 --> 05:23.120] help identify and chase down so the police can put the habeas gravis on them. That's a technical [05:23.120 --> 05:28.160] Latin term for put them under arrest. And we can either cite them or it's a fourth degree [05:28.160 --> 05:32.400] misdemeanor. If it's somebody from out of town, we can't bring them in and make them post bond so [05:32.400 --> 05:37.280] they can come to mayor's court later. And also all solicitors license are issued through the [05:37.280 --> 05:42.960] city manager's office. The solicitor's license permits are good for 90 days and all of them [05:42.960 --> 05:47.760] are listed on the city's website. Not everybody can check the website, but they also have to have [05:47.760 --> 05:52.640] that permit with them and provide proof that they have one when they come to your residence. [05:53.280 --> 05:53.920] Thank you. [05:53.920 --> 05:54.240] Yes, sir. [05:55.920 --> 06:01.120] So like he said, they have to have a permit. They could be fined. But even if you don't have a sign [06:01.120 --> 06:04.560] up, you could call non-emergency police, just have it checked out because you don't know who [06:04.560 --> 06:10.240] these people are. Right now only three companies have permits, IGS Energy, Renewable by Anderson and [06:10.240 --> 06:14.160] Spectrum. I actually had a Spectrum person show up in my door last week. So they are definitely [06:14.160 --> 06:18.640] out and about. Good stuff. This is kind of exciting. This is very exciting. Yeah. [06:18.640 --> 06:23.520] Not anything I would partake in, but hey, you guys have it. I know your wife will probably [06:23.520 --> 06:24.000] do it, right? [06:24.000 --> 06:25.360] Probably. She likes runs. [06:25.360 --> 06:31.280] So the Medina County Parks have approved a 24 hour race to be held at Brunswick Lake. [06:31.280 --> 06:36.080] And it will be the course is closed one mile paved loop. [06:36.640 --> 06:37.840] Goes all around. [06:37.840 --> 06:39.360] Yeah. Yeah. That's a loop. Yeah. [06:39.360 --> 06:42.160] So September 14th and 15th. [06:42.160 --> 06:46.560] Thank you. I couldn't find the date. Oh, it's right at the top. So that's something different. [06:46.560 --> 06:50.880] We've been, I don't know if you guys know that I do know just from putting one together that we [06:50.880 --> 06:56.640] have like a ton of five Ks, I guess, in the Brunswick area. So this is something different. [06:56.640 --> 07:00.480] Yeah. And if you're interested, you can search for it. NEO 24 is the name. [07:00.480 --> 07:01.040] Yeah. Great. [07:01.040 --> 07:05.680] If you want to run for 24 hours, I guess it's a pretty intense race. But looking at it, there's [07:05.680 --> 07:07.600] already. I run my mouth for 24 hours. [07:08.640 --> 07:12.400] There's already a lot of interest in it. We're looking for a new location. [07:12.400 --> 07:13.040] Sorry. This seems to be it. [07:13.040 --> 07:15.680] I'm laughing because I'm like talking over you again. I don't like that. [07:16.800 --> 07:19.040] We need a red light. Talking stick. [07:21.440 --> 07:29.840] Just mute me every time. Anyway, this is, I think we're going to see more and more, [07:30.400 --> 07:37.760] but the solar eclipse is coming up in April, April 8th, and people are having parties and [07:37.760 --> 07:42.560] doing this and doing that. And Hope Church in Brunswick is giving out free solar eclipse [07:42.560 --> 07:49.280] glasses. So you protect your eyes to get a pair. Just go to their website, hoperunswick.org, [07:49.280 --> 07:52.640] and you can order them there and get ready Monday, April 8th. And it just [07:52.640 --> 07:54.080] happens the kids are off that day. [07:54.080 --> 07:57.520] Yeah, right. That's all the posts we had pretty mild week. [07:57.520 --> 07:59.440] Yeah. So let's take a break. [07:59.440 --> 08:01.280] We like a quiet week every once in a while. [08:01.280 --> 08:02.400] It's relaxing. Yeah. [08:03.280 --> 08:04.400] Right. All right. [08:04.400 --> 08:07.600] When we come back, we're going to talk about things to do in the 212. [08:07.600 --> 08:09.600] What's going on around? See you guys in a second. [08:13.440 --> 08:19.040] Sometimes you can hear the side eye. Listen to it all at Brunswick Group Therapy dot com. [08:23.760 --> 08:27.760] We're back with some events. Things to do in the 212. [08:27.760 --> 08:28.400] Like that, huh? [08:28.400 --> 08:33.920] They do. Well, we got a luau party, February 24th. You wear your grass skirts and there's [08:33.920 --> 08:37.520] live music, open bar, just $40 for this per person. [08:37.520 --> 08:41.360] Visual of you with coconut bran and grass skirt. [08:42.080 --> 08:42.560] I don't know. [08:43.200 --> 08:46.640] Maybe a pina colada, but I don't know about coconut brown. [08:47.600 --> 08:50.960] Anyway, that's at the draft house, February 24th. [08:50.960 --> 08:54.800] Yeah. All inclusive food and drink with Island Troy 8 to 11 p.m. [08:54.800 --> 08:57.120] We keep Island Troy busy around here, don't we? [08:57.120 --> 08:58.320] Well, it's good to listen to. [08:58.960 --> 09:02.240] So this one sounds like fun and we're jumping all around on the calendar. [09:02.240 --> 09:09.920] So try and keep up. But this coming up Tuesday is a mom friend speed dating style. [09:09.920 --> 09:12.320] So let's just clarify here. [09:12.320 --> 09:13.760] We're not hooking up the moms. [09:14.560 --> 09:18.880] It's for moms to find new friends with similar interest. [09:19.760 --> 09:22.720] Kids at the same age, hobbies, whatever. [09:22.720 --> 09:27.600] That's going to be at the Tangled Vine, Tuesday the 6th at 6 o'clock. [09:27.600 --> 09:31.760] So if you're interested in doing something like that, head over to their Facebook page [09:31.760 --> 09:34.320] and register to sign up so they know how many are coming. [09:34.320 --> 09:35.920] That sounds actually not bad. [09:36.720 --> 09:37.920] What's for the dudes? [09:37.920 --> 09:38.400] Come on. [09:38.400 --> 09:39.120] Just mom and me. [09:39.600 --> 09:41.200] Mom speed dating. [09:41.200 --> 09:42.640] Oh, it's just mom. [09:42.640 --> 09:45.120] I forgot to maybe they'll come up with it, dude. [09:45.120 --> 09:46.080] We haven't. [09:46.080 --> 09:49.600] We haven't talked about Brunswick's Thirsty Third Thursday. [09:49.600 --> 09:50.640] Are you doing it? [09:50.640 --> 09:51.680] Yeah, we're doing it. [09:51.680 --> 09:54.080] I mean, we had one last month. [09:54.080 --> 09:59.520] So we're going to have one this month on the third Thursday time and location TBD. [09:59.520 --> 10:01.440] But I had fun on the last one. [10:01.440 --> 10:05.680] I think this one will also be at Ignite because I like the German brew house style tables. [10:05.680 --> 10:06.800] You know, the setup. [10:06.800 --> 10:09.040] Yeah, there's plenty of room for people to gather around [10:09.040 --> 10:13.280] and sitting down next to somebody that you don't know isn't the weirdest thing in the world there. [10:13.840 --> 10:17.520] Yeah, so I think we'll probably do it there again until we get a good size crowd [10:17.520 --> 10:18.960] or an invite from somewhere else. [10:18.960 --> 10:20.320] But I like Ignite. [10:20.320 --> 10:22.880] And last time they had race cars. [10:22.880 --> 10:25.920] They had a track set up in RC cars and it was free to play. [10:25.920 --> 10:28.080] That's put on by NEO Sports. [10:28.080 --> 10:28.960] It was a lot of fun. [10:28.960 --> 10:34.560] They actually have steering wheels and Ford and reverse was legit a good time. [10:34.560 --> 10:37.360] And I saw that you took at least one of your daughters. [10:37.360 --> 10:40.240] So it is a kind of a family friendly evening. [10:40.240 --> 10:40.800] For sure. [10:40.800 --> 10:41.200] Right. [10:41.200 --> 10:41.520] Yeah. [10:41.520 --> 10:42.960] So come one, come all. [10:43.760 --> 10:46.080] Watch for Lucas's announcement on the next one. [10:46.080 --> 10:47.120] Yeah, that was fun. [10:47.120 --> 10:48.160] Meeting some new people. [10:48.160 --> 10:48.640] Good. [10:48.640 --> 10:49.360] Talking to some old friends. [10:49.360 --> 10:52.240] Well, speaking of speaking of brews and dudes, [10:52.240 --> 10:58.880] happy dude brews and Hinckley is going to have a chili cook off Sunday, February 18th from two to five. [10:58.880 --> 11:00.960] Do you think you make the best chili in town? [11:00.960 --> 11:01.680] It's pretty good. [11:01.680 --> 11:02.240] I don't know. [11:02.240 --> 11:02.480] Yeah. [11:02.480 --> 11:06.000] I don't know if it's the best, but each part of the thing about chili is everybody's is different. [11:06.240 --> 11:07.360] Some people like it one way. [11:07.360 --> 11:08.080] Some people like it. [11:08.080 --> 11:10.000] The other really comes down to who the judges are. [11:10.000 --> 11:14.000] But can you make the best chili that appeases to the most people? [11:14.000 --> 11:14.560] Right. [11:14.560 --> 11:15.920] Entering fee is $10. [11:15.920 --> 11:17.920] It includes a people's choice ballot. [11:17.920 --> 11:20.160] Maybe you burn water when you try and cook. [11:20.160 --> 11:22.880] It says, but $5 gets you people's choice ballots. [11:22.880 --> 11:24.240] You can judge the competition. [11:24.240 --> 11:27.280] So first and second place prizes. [11:27.280 --> 11:34.480] So sign up today at the brewery or send your information to info at happy dude brews.com. [11:34.480 --> 11:36.800] And if you haven't tried their beer, it's very good. [11:36.800 --> 11:38.400] So it's worth the trip for that. [11:38.400 --> 11:40.400] Well, that might be another one of your Thursday night. [11:44.000 --> 11:47.760] We're going to slow it down a little bit and look at Grease and Gratitude Yoga. [11:47.760 --> 11:49.840] Their February schedule has been posted. [11:49.840 --> 11:51.520] So if you're interested in something like that, [11:51.520 --> 11:53.200] you don't have to crawl around on the floor either. [11:53.200 --> 11:56.000] They also do chair yoga and stuff like that. [11:56.000 --> 11:56.960] So check them out. [11:57.680 --> 12:01.120] Mark your calendars too for Sunday sound bath with Karen. [12:01.120 --> 12:03.920] It's on this Sunday, actually at six o'clock. [12:03.920 --> 12:07.360] And yoga and wine on the 23rd at six. [12:07.360 --> 12:10.560] Now, if that's not a way to get me there, I think that would do it. [12:11.120 --> 12:14.320] And if you haven't experienced the sound bath, I actually have. [12:14.320 --> 12:16.160] You don't have to get into a bathing suit. [12:16.160 --> 12:17.120] It's not like that. [12:17.120 --> 12:19.360] It's purely relaxation. [12:19.360 --> 12:20.480] Highly recommend it. [12:20.480 --> 12:21.840] Highly, highly recommend it. [12:21.840 --> 12:23.760] So again, Grease and Gratitude Yoga. [12:23.760 --> 12:27.440] Check out their Facebook page and everything that they've got listed for February and give them a try. [12:27.440 --> 12:27.840] Very cool. [12:27.840 --> 12:28.800] They're adding new classes. [12:28.800 --> 12:31.360] They just recently opened what in December? [12:31.360 --> 12:32.240] Yeah, recently. [12:32.240 --> 12:32.560] Yep. [12:32.560 --> 12:34.400] Starting to fill up with events. [12:34.400 --> 12:35.520] So good. [12:35.520 --> 12:36.000] Love that. [12:36.000 --> 12:36.560] Good stuff. [12:36.560 --> 12:39.440] I want to remind everybody about the After Prom Yeti fundraiser. [12:39.440 --> 12:40.800] Tickets are $10. [12:40.800 --> 12:44.800] You can search in the group Brunswick After Prom and help fundraise. [12:44.800 --> 12:50.160] It's the main source for their entire event to help them with prizes and all the stuff needed. [12:50.160 --> 12:52.000] First, second, third, fourth, and fifth prize. [12:52.000 --> 12:54.560] First prize is valued at 450 plus extras. [12:54.560 --> 12:59.280] So if you have 10 bucks laying around, this is a great fundraiser and a way to give. [12:59.680 --> 13:03.280] And we're going to keep reminding you guys of the Veterans Among Us. [13:03.280 --> 13:05.280] Second photo shoot and interview. [13:05.280 --> 13:07.680] They're looking to speak to veterans. [13:07.680 --> 13:12.080] It's a way to honor them of all ages and all branches living in Medina County. [13:12.080 --> 13:19.840] Contact them at 330-722-9368 or email veterans at medinacountyveterans.org. [13:21.200 --> 13:22.880] They're going to put something together, right? [13:22.880 --> 13:23.120] Yep. [13:23.120 --> 13:24.160] They want to hear your story. [13:24.880 --> 13:25.120] Yeah. [13:25.120 --> 13:30.480] There's actually a published author and photographer who lives in Medina. [13:30.480 --> 13:31.920] His name's Chad Wise. [13:31.920 --> 13:39.360] So he is putting together this project and wants to hear from Medina County veterans of all ages. [13:39.360 --> 13:41.200] And I think that's it. [13:41.200 --> 13:41.680] That's it. [13:42.240 --> 13:43.120] That's an easy week. [13:43.120 --> 13:43.840] Yeah. [13:43.840 --> 13:44.400] Happy February. [13:44.400 --> 13:45.200] We'll see you guys. [13:45.200 --> 13:45.600] Bye. [13:45.600 --> 13:46.240] Be good. [13:46.240 --> 13:46.720] Bye.
