Joy Parker said that as a lifetime resident of Brunswick, she was honored to have bought the last donut sold at the original Donutland location. Yeah. Congratulations on your new location. Here she is, buying the last donuts.
[00:01:35] So I was there that day. Mm-hmm. There were five left. Yeah. And I ran out the door because I knew it was going to be a waterworks and I was going to be part of it. Oh boy. So I was like, no thank you. So, but anyway, so here we go. Continuing the legacy. Now we wait. A couple more weeks, right? Yep. 19th. For those of you that don't know. Mm-hmm. Oh, what do we got? Pooch of the week? Yes.
[00:02:06] Kilo? Kilo. Kilo. Kilo. Two year old mountain boxer, old boxer mountain cure mix. I don't know what that is. It's cute. Very adorable. By the time we got off the air last week, the other dog was already adopted. Yeah. So. Super fast. Super fast. Um, here's Roger with him driving on over. [00:02:38] Yep. Good stuff. All right. Moving right along. Brooklyn posted that the, uh, city of Brunswick sent her a notice of violation and correction order to, um, get her grass mowed. And, uh, they sent the cut crew out and, uh, they cut the grass for her at a tune of, what was it, $450? Wow.
[00:03:06] And we'll be, uh, cutting it every two weeks until she maintains it herself. That's $450? And she was, uh, she was pretty upset about that. Yeah, it would be too. A lot of comments. A lot of comments. People saying, uh, that's ridiculous in price. People saying, just cut your own grass like you're supposed to. Um, but looks like, uh, they did damage to her grass. I think that's like just a little bit more than what Bedard brothers charge. For a season?
[00:03:36] Yeah, right, right. For a season. Oh my goodness. Holy cow. Wow. Yeah. For one cut, they're gonna charge that woman $400 some dollars. Yeah. She said her yard was just too wet. But she wasn't able to. I wonder what it looked like before. Yeah. Because that's the after with the damage, right? Yeah. I don't know. But, uh, yeah. Maybe we have a council person or two that actually listens and pays attention on the page and might be able to help her out. Yeah.
[00:04:05] Because that's a little extreme. That's a high price to pay. That's a whole lot of extreme. And don't forget the garage sale coming up. Don't put signs on your tree lawn. Tree lawn. Yeah. Uh, they're actually, they're actually working to put that $5 fee back in there. Of course they are. They haven't, uh, they haven't done it yet, but I wonder if they'll get it in before. Let me see. $40 at five, 40 houses. It still says $5. So we'll see.
[00:04:35] Well, no, we have 58 houses this year. Yeah. So far. So far. We got a little bit of time yet. But, um, so let's just say 20 of them are in the township. So how much are they missing out on? 20 times five bucks. No, 20 are in the township. So the other 35 stay houses times five bucks. That's what it is. How's your math? Uh, five times three is 150, 150, 150 some bucks.
[00:05:06] That's not much, but if they need it, they need it, I guess. Yeah. I don't know. Oh my gosh. Transitioning right along. Speaking of the city of Brunswick, uh, Brunswick area television celebrates their 40 years. And as part of the, uh, celebration, they're uploading old episodes to YouTube. So, uh, you can already go to, um, bat TV and watch, uh, a live feed.
[00:05:35] You know, we're on the live feed a couple of times a week and, uh, you can watch, uh, all the old shows. I think they have it archived a couple of years back, but they're, they're putting up some really old shows of the golden years or hosted by Lori Betts, um, that you can watch there. That might be fun. Go down memory lane, watch some stuff there. Yeah. All right. Moving right along.
[00:06:03] Everyone's favorite topic, tearing down trees and putting up parking lots. Uh, St. Ambrose posted that they have exciting news. They purchased the two acres to the north of them for a parking lot. And, uh, Father Bob here wanted to let you know that there, you can help make it happen by, um, participating in their festival raffle. I got a little heat for posting on it. I don't know. Why? Well, I don't know.
[00:06:29] I posted it without commentary, but a lot of people were anti parking lot pro trees. Oh, so you were helpful and you posted here. If you're, if you're against it, here's the meeting. Yeah. That's what it was. Yeah. That's the worst that we take. Oh, good. You know, but no speaking of St. Ambrose festivals coming up. Yeah. And June 25th and 28th.
[00:06:56] As a matter of fact, today, um, if you purchase $150 worth of raffle tickets, you're entered into a whole separate thing you get today only. Use your name on a parking space in the new lot. No, you get, um, they're the, uh, Brunswick, uh, uh, what's the place next to Caesar's little Caesar's food place with the wraps and the smoothies. Oh, um, you get some. Yeah. Beyond juice. Beyond juice. Yeah.
[00:07:23] You get a $20 gift card and something else and something else. And very nice. Yeah. Very nice. But anyway, as I was saying, my bad, you're good. You're good. It's about parking for the festival. So there's been some issues the last couple of years with parking in Hickory Ridge Plaza and even the one over where Dollar General is.
[00:07:48] And, um, Hickory Ridge, uh, management has agreed to let them use the back of the lot. Oh, behind the building. Behind the building. There's a lot more businesses in Hickory Ridge this year. It's full. It's full if you drive by now. There's only two vacancies, I think. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, if you are going to the festival and you need to park over there, please don't
[00:08:14] park in front of the movie theater or UXL or Ollie's or anything. Park in back and they will have a shuttle running from the back lot there. Shenandoah, I think is the name of the street right there. Yeah. So we'll remind you again next week, but please be respectful of those businesses. Uh, okay. Sorry. Things to do. In the two one. Uh, Friday, 6 PM. We got escape. It's a journey tribute band at Mapleside.
[00:08:46] We've gone into nice weather outside. Right. Very exciting. Do you need tickets? Yeah. All right. All right. And then June 11th, um, all weekend long, actually, they're going to be partying over at launchers, which is, um, underneath ignite brewing.
[00:09:14] If you guys didn't know where that was and indoor battlefield is officially opening and they're celebrating for three days. So they have a family night on Thursday, the 11th grand opening and open play on June, uh, Friday, June 12th. And Friday night is adult night. Mm hmm. Yep. Lots of stuff going on. Yeah. Yeah. You can get admission for three, you and three guests. Uh, they have a free two hour open play session on Friday.
[00:09:42] Um, all kinds of things. So check out their event. I think you got pizza one night. Uh, and they got a grand prize drawing for a three month family membership, but that's a, that's a huge value. $537. Yeah. Um, and every admission has a referee led game and unlimited battle action. All ammo is included. So there's no extra cost. And, uh, they've been really working to build that place out. It looks really nice. So there's activities on Saturday too.
[00:10:12] Mm hmm. Uh, this one is the HCC Hickory prep, prep, prep academy. Um, poker run. Mm hmm. Starts at, uh, Musketeers in Brecksville, goes to Foster's Tavern, Gasoline Alley, all the way in Akron. And then it finishes at our, the backyard. Um, it starts at 11 AM, um, goes till 4 PM.
[00:10:42] Hands are doing it for 30 PM. And, uh, they'll also have 50, 50 raffle along the way. All righty then. Moving right along this Friday, right? Yep. Uh, Summer Vibes Patio Party. DJ Jan, DJ Dan and Jay Flo. And that is going to be, um, where you normally pointed at me. At the backyard. At the backyard.
[00:11:11] Um, again, that's Friday starting at 10 o'clock. No. Uh, it says it both on the flyer and in the post. So. It's awfully late. And I think it goes from, I think that's a typo. It's gotta be. I don't think it's an hour long party. Yeah. We don't start the party at 10. What are we? 21 again? I was gonna say. I haven't went out at 10 since yeah. 20 something.
[00:11:42] But anyway, check with the backyard, look on their Facebook page or give them a call and see exactly that time's wrong. So I'm definitely gonna say it's gonna be long. Yeah. Yeah. AI does things to you sometimes. Yeah. We were just had that conversation. Uh, flag retirement ceremony over at St. Ambrose. St. Ambrose. Yeah. June 13th, 2026 from 545 to 7 PM. Uh, you can take your flag up there. They will retire it properly.
[00:12:11] And, uh, I'm sure they'll have a nice little ceremony. Um, to remember that. Yeah. A lot of people are, that's a pretty, uh, big question every once in a while people are asking, you know, where can I take it? Uh, you know. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Here's where you can take your tack. What's a tack, Lucas? Uh, it's for horses. I missed my cue. Sorry.
[00:12:36] Uh, free leather care, uh, samples, tack cleaning demo, snacks and beverages, and bring your friends, uh, for a good time. Um, this is over at Equine Essentials over in the Marks Plaza. Um, and it's Saturday at 11 AM till 5 PM. For those of you with horses or thinking about horses or just have a tack with no horse. Just on a saddle. No judgment.

There's going to be, um, Dr. Mancini is going to be there who just went out under his practice. And so he'll be there to answer your health questions, um, as well as yoga and, oh my
[00:13:30] gosh, there's so many things I forgot everything that's there, but, um, from 12 to 4 women's health fair. And then after you're done with the health fair, go over to the bar and have a drink. Good stuff. Good stuff. With a fruit bowl. See? That way it all balances out. Stay healthy. Uh, Vox Noma. Vox Nova, formerly the agenda is playing at Manzo Sports and Spirits Saturday night, uh, 830 PM.
[00:13:59] Never cover at Manzo's and, uh, always delicious booze. Sound bath experience. Where's that going to be at? Uh, that one is at Sunday at two o'clock. Stunned by the spirits, uh, essence of spirituality. It is at 829 pro road. Yeah. Yeah. Julie's place is 829 pro road sound bath experience. If you've never, have you ever done this? No.
[00:14:29] So first of all, let me clarify because some people in B3 one night thought a sound bath was getting into somebody's bathtub and they were going to go to Julie's house and get into her bathtub. That's not what it's about. Glad to hear. It is about just like, almost like meditative, but then they make the noise with the bowls and the, you know, the, I don't know what, I don't know what to call it, but if you've never experienced it, just go and try it out.
[00:14:58] Um, it's very relaxing, very calming. Um, and that's going to be Sunday at two o'clock sound bath experience. Very good. Uh, Medusa is back at Panini's in Brunswick out on their patio. This Sunday from five to 8 PM. Well, that's tough going. We do, but we are kicking our way through it. Yeah, we are. Well, stumbling maybe our way through it.
[00:15:26] Kids summer golf camp over at the back nine. Uh, that's over in town center. For those of you that do not know where that is, that kicks off Monday, June 15th at 10 AM. You do have to register ahead of time. So please go check their Facebook page and the information is all there for you. Yeah. That's a way to beat the heat. One of the, one of the ways, uh, Yeah. Stay out of the heat. Some kids don't like it. One of those kids. I was going to say kids.
[00:15:56] Uh, vacation Bible school over at Brunswick reform church at 3535 Grafton road. Um, starting June 15th at 6 30 PM going to, um, June 19th. 9 PM. So you can check that out through their vent or, um, yeah. Yep. Yep. All right.
[00:16:22] What do we got going on at, uh, Gandalf's Tuesday, the 16th from 11 AM to 10 PM. Looks like it all day long is a dine and donate, uh, for Buckeye mission. Um, dog sanctuary. It says Buckeye mission and dog sanctuary. So in placing your order at Gandalf's on Tuesday, June 16th, Mention them anytime from 11 AM through 10 PM. And they will donate part of the proceeds to Buckeye mission help the pooches.
[00:16:52] It's nice to give back and just be eating food. Right. We got, uh, uh, lead up day over at Brunswick, right? Uh, Brunswick city hall. This one's way out. It's July 18th, but it's an opportunity to get rid of things like construction materials and other household debris, the stuff you can't put in your normal trash. Um, so from 8 AM till noon, dumpsters are located at the service garage, the parks garage, the rec center. There's the addresses there. Um,
[00:17:23] the following items will not be accepted. Obviously hazardous waste. No hazardous waste. Appliances containing Freon paint trees, shrubbery, et cetera. Um, what do they take? I was going to say, do they take construction materials? No grass clippings, no tires. Oh, and it is open to Brunswick residents only. They do check your IDs. Do they? Yep. Good. You turned away. I didn't get turned away,
[00:17:52] but somebody told me that once like for the recycle or the shredding event and stuff like that. When they say Brunswick residents. Yeah. It's Brunswick. That makes sense. Keeps the, keeps the costs low, keeps people out of, well, they pay higher tax. I guess so. Right? Yep. Well, you pay higher tax. Uh, and last but not least, we want to remind everybody of the grand, grand opening celebration ribbon cutting for donut land on Friday,
[00:18:21] June 19th at noon. And I saw that they moved the blessing block blessing box already. Yep. So, uh, I wonder if they started moving other stuff yet. Thank you, uh, to you and your family for emptying that out and redistributing that stuff. Um, yeah, no problem. Did that last week. You guys did that last weekend. And, um, then we'll fill it back up. Uh, Chuck Kelly, who made the box is gonna freshen it up a little bit.
[00:18:50] Cause it was a little dirty. I told him I wanted to scrub it. He's like, ah, I'll just repaint the inside. I said, okay. So, um, get ready. Friday, June 19th, maybe about a week in advance. We'll do, that would be this week. We'll be right now. I'm like, maybe we'll do it a week in advance. Oh, no pressure, Amanda. You only got a week and a half left. Jeepers. Geez. All right. This went by fast. Yeah. Well, the whole donut land thing. Oh yeah. Both. Yeah.
