[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:00:07] Alright, here we are, episode 52. We've got a whole year.

[00:00:15] Wow. I know, right?

[00:00:18] We celebrated with some pot eyes in the faces this week.

[00:00:21] We did, we did. Thank you for sponsoring that backyard and Tasha Niner for making those donations.

[00:00:27] Really appreciate it. It was a lot of fun.

[00:00:30] And thank you to your wife Erin for agreeing and you didn't even know anything about it.

[00:00:34] Yeah, signing me up for that. That's what wives do.

[00:00:39] Exactly. Alright, let's get into it. Right off the bat, let's talk about another, somebody had a birth somewhere, another animal.

[00:00:51] Top of them out over there at Spring Mist. Baby Cole.

[00:00:55] Yeah, the reindeer. Very cool. And moving right along, we got a few things to talk about today, huh?

[00:01:02] Yeah, the brookheadle opened finally in Brunswick Hills. Have you been?

[00:01:06] Not yet. It's a long time coming. Looks really nice inside.

[00:01:09] It is. They did a nice job. It's not like cheesy or anything like that. They got a nice patio on there.

[00:01:14] We went great size patio.

[00:01:16] Yeah, and Mother's Day had a nice one. So, a nice dinner and everything.

[00:01:20] So, I want to update everybody on the Blessing Box project that is being implemented and we're working behind the scenes on that.

[00:01:28] I'm just orchestrating. There's a lot of people that are working a lot harder, trust me.

[00:01:33] So, just watch for that. That's coming so far. We've got three, possibly four.

[00:01:39] Nice. Nice.

[00:01:41] Yeah, one in the township and three in the city. So, we're really excited about that.

[00:01:45] So, stay tuned for that.

[00:01:47] Yeah, that's really convenient for people that need food on demand where they don't have to wait for having to go somewhere and pick it up.

[00:01:54] Yeah, sometimes we're just in a situation where the pantry is not open or whatever.

[00:02:00] We'll make sure that there's diapers and hygiene products and stuff in there and those too.

[00:02:06] So, everyone can be supplied with that stuff when they need it.

[00:02:10] I don't have a picture of it but it did say that there was a shout out to Brunswick Hills female police officer

[00:02:15] for helping an elderly woman cut her front lawn.

[00:02:18] Very nice.

[00:02:19] Very nice.

[00:02:20] So, we've got two female police officers in the township so I'm not sure which.

[00:02:24] It's Heather either Heather or Mikhail.

[00:02:26] So, I'm not sure but our officers are amazing and want to thank them for doing that.

[00:02:31] Going the extra mile. Yeah.

[00:02:33] Yeah, that's really cool.

[00:02:35] And then we also want to remind everybody that Fairtrade's got their flowers in.

[00:02:39] Those things are huge.

[00:02:41] They are very huge.

[00:02:43] I've seen some of them.

[00:02:44] Okay, stop over there and they're like the size of two people.

[00:02:49] You can't even tell who's holding it.

[00:02:51] It looks like legs and flowers.

[00:02:54] Exactly.

[00:02:56] Make sure you check them out their next door to Luna's and they've got that stuff in for a limited time only.

[00:03:02] And then ironically on our one year anniversary we also celebrated a one year anniversary of Husky's Gone Wild.

[00:03:10] Yeah, boy, I tell ya.

[00:03:12] This happened exactly.

[00:03:13] In episode one we were talking about all the Huskies getting loose and going out.

[00:03:17] And one of the group members said that they have a secret Husky meeting once a year that they all break out of their houses and yards and attend a secret Husky meeting.

[00:03:26] And I think she's probably right.

[00:03:28] It does seem like it because once one starts then and then they all look a little bit alike and so you're like, alright which one's got the darker face?

[00:03:36] Which one's got this?

[00:03:37] Which one's got that?

[00:03:38] Is this your dog?

[00:03:39] Is this your Husky?

[00:03:40] No.

[00:03:41] Not mine.

[00:03:42] No, not mine.

[00:03:44] Speaking of animals, what do you got an update on the equine?

[00:03:49] Equine essentials.

[00:03:50] They had a sign on the door that said they're not quite open yet but coming soon check back on social media for latest updates going over there in Mark's Plaza.

[00:03:59] Boy it feels weird not calling a Kmart Plaza as we did the first 20 years.

[00:04:05] Right.

[00:04:06] So they had a little bit of shipping delays and some other stuff construction and unpacking but they said it would be worth the wait for the new store to open.

[00:04:16] So that's pretty exciting.

[00:04:17] Yeah, and I've seen some movement inside Indian Spice too so that's two of them open in that area of the Plaza.

[00:04:24] That'll be exciting when they open.

[00:04:26] Can't wait to try them out.

[00:04:27] Yeah, I feel like we've been talking about them for six months.

[00:04:30] Right, exactly.

[00:04:32] And then I haven't seen any movement or gossip about the old El Taco logo so who knows what's doing.

[00:04:39] Yeah.

[00:04:40] What we're doing with that.

[00:04:41] So, but we may have to change our logo, city logo.

[00:04:47] I think they are working on a new flag but they're going to put a mannequin on it though.

[00:04:54] So we had one mannequin right off 71 that people were questioning and getting excited about and then all of a sudden his girlfriend popped up.

[00:05:02] Right?

[00:05:03] Yeah.

[00:05:04] And now there's another one on the other end of town.

[00:05:06] There is and the other one is from Cool Beans that just wants to remind you guys that they're coming building a facility over there and coming to town and so they thought they'd join in the fun.

[00:05:16] So that was kind of fun to see.

[00:05:18] It is fun.

[00:05:20] Yeah.

[00:05:21] So if you haven't seen them drive by and you'll see where Cool Beans is going to be, please be careful on the highway when you're trying to look for the other two.

[00:05:28] And then you wanted to talk about South Park.

[00:05:31] This one, yeah this one was a little bit over that down the hill in Strongsville but they changed their zoning so that South Park can be more than just this shopping center.

[00:05:41] So what you could mean there, it could add addition of hotels, micro breweries, fitness center, grocery store, even maybe some more medical facilities and maybe some outdoor playing fields.

[00:05:52] So you know there's going to be some redevelopment there.

[00:05:55] The mall isn't doing great.

[00:05:58] It's doing a little bit better than some of the other ones but I don't think it's a destination for some people anymore so they're just trying to put some more stuff in there.

[00:06:06] And I think I read Red Lobster in Strongsville's Clothes and Two so that's right there.

[00:06:10] I thought it's, I thought just the opposite though. I thought they said they were going to stay open for now so we'll have to check that and get back.

[00:06:17] I couldn't, it seemed like it was and then when I was reading the article they said it was going to stay open for now I think.

[00:06:23] So we'll check that and let everybody know.

[00:06:27] Speaking of food, we get back we're going to talk about events to do in the two one two. We're going to start it off with a good dinner deal on Mondays.

[00:06:38] Alright let's head over to Roger at Houndstown and hear about the dog of the week.

[00:06:43] Hey Lucas and Kimberly it's Roger from Houndstown with my weekly update on our newest as we call them here, Townie.

[00:06:50] That's with us from Brea Animal Rescue.

[00:06:53] We have Watson here with us this week and he is a one and a half year old male terrier pit mix.

[00:06:59] Started off life on a rough note abandoned in the streets.

[00:07:03] Was found with a belly full of rocks had to have surgery but he's now thriving and is here with us this week.

[00:07:10] Has had a great introduction to our fellow Townies here.

[00:07:14] Interactive play with both male and female dogs having a great time and is looking for his forever home.

[00:07:21] So check out our website or our Facebook page I should say.

[00:07:25] Head over on the Brea Animal Rescue not only see Watson but the other dogs and cats that they have up for adoption.

[00:07:32] And a big shout out to both of you and also to the Brunswick community.

[00:07:36] Since we started doing this a few months back we have successfully adopted out 11 dogs so far.

[00:07:42] So that's just awesome and appreciate your guys help in helping us spread the word and helping Brea Animal Rescue with their mission to find every dog and cat a home.

[00:07:54] So thanks so much.

[00:07:55] It is a week.

[00:07:56] We're a week away from Memorial Weekend.

[00:07:58] So if anybody is in need of overnight boarding while they head out of town please give us a call.

[00:08:03] If you've never been in before we give you a free day of doggy daycare.

[00:08:06] We have to have you come in with your dog to check us out and to make sure that your dog is a good fit for our fully interactive daycare environment in boarding facilities.

[00:08:13] So give us a call here at 3304603052.

[00:08:18] If you're interested in arranging a meet and greet to meet Watson or you needed any services from us again.

[00:08:24] Thanks to everyone for your support over these last few months and let's keep it going and hopefully we find Watson a forever home before before the end of the weekend.

[00:08:33] Have a good week.

[00:08:34] Talk to y'all.

[00:08:35] Thanks.

[00:08:36] Last week's got adopted pretty quickly.

[00:08:38] Yeah.

[00:08:39] Yeah, so I hope our listeners and our people on the group are some of the adopters adopters.

[00:08:47] I guess you'd say adopt.

[00:08:49] So yeah.

[00:08:50] Right.

[00:08:51] Mm hmm.

[00:08:52] Let's get into some events and things to do in the two one to we're going to start off with diners diner.

[00:08:58] They know of a special on Monday which looks really good where you can to condine for $32.

[00:09:04] So what is that?

[00:09:05] Is that the smokehouse barbecue bowl that that's got my mouth water in here?

[00:09:10] Yeah, I think that's one of the options.

[00:09:12] It says relish the flavors of two tempting entrees with this special and an appetizer and wrap it up your feast with a sweet finale.

[00:09:22] So don't know I haven't had their donut holes.

[00:09:25] It says they're irresistible.

[00:09:26] You seen them?

[00:09:27] I have not.

[00:09:28] They come with injectors so you can like put like fudge or peanut butter inside of them.

[00:09:33] Yeah, let's try that.

[00:09:37] Yeah.

[00:09:38] So again, that's Monday is only at Niners.

[00:09:41] So you might want to keep that in mind because a lot of places are closed on Monday now.

[00:09:45] It's so weird.

[00:09:46] Yeah.

[00:09:47] So I threw this in there because because you love cousins main lobster.

[00:09:52] I love any lobster really they're going to be over at happy dude brews which you guys know that we kind of adopted neighboring cities like Valley City and Hinkley.

[00:10:06] Yeah.

[00:10:07] They don't have large community pages like ourselves.

[00:10:11] Medina has something strong as well as something but some of our smaller ones don't have anything so we've kind of adopted them.

[00:10:17] So over at happy dude brews in Hinkley this Sunday will be the cousins main lobster truck from 12 to 8.

[00:10:25] So you can go over and grab a brew and I highly recommend the tacos, the lobster tacos.

[00:10:32] And I highly recommend their brews.

[00:10:33] They do a very good job.

[00:10:35] Yeah, exactly.

[00:10:36] They do.

[00:10:37] So speaking of brews, what we got?

[00:10:39] We got Cornhole tournament Wednesday May 22nd 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. Cost is $20 per team and includes two Ignite beers of your choice.

[00:10:49] That's over at Ignite Brewery on North Carpenter.

[00:10:52] That's Wednesday from 7 to 9.

[00:10:55] You just register the night of the event in the tap room just before 7 o'clock.

[00:11:00] Weekly winning teams receive two Ignite hats.

[00:11:03] So good stuff.

[00:11:05] Nice.

[00:11:06] They got a nice patio to do that on.

[00:11:08] I'm sure you'll see lots of events this summer.

[00:11:10] They do.

[00:11:11] I feel like maybe we should enter.

[00:11:13] That's something my speed that I can handle.

[00:11:15] I'm not that great at Cornhole.

[00:11:18] Come on, everybody can play Cornhole.

[00:11:21] Alright, speaking of Ignite, they're going to have some live music on Saturday the 25th from 7 to 10.

[00:11:28] So stop by and check out Chris Donnelly who will be there again on the 25th and try those brews.

[00:11:35] And they got a pretty good menu too.

[00:11:37] I'd hate to stop talking about beer, but let's do one for the kids.

[00:11:41] Pickled pineapple is having an art summer camp with Miss Stephanie.

[00:11:45] It's geared to 5 to 10 year olds.

[00:11:48] You choose either June 11th, 12th and 13th or July 9th, 10th and 11th.

[00:11:54] And each one of those days you're going to do multiple art lessons.

[00:11:59] Art, art, you're going to do multiple art projects.

[00:12:03] Two fun art projects each day.

[00:12:05] Drinks and snacks are provided.

[00:12:07] There'll be some outdoor play and games,

[00:12:09] some lessons on painting, drawing, mixed media and more.

[00:12:12] It's $175 for all three days, all six activities,

[00:12:16] and then the outdoor play and drinks and snacks at the Tangled Vine in Brunswick.

[00:12:20] That's June 11th through 13th and July 9th through 11th.

[00:12:24] So if you have a child who loves art and would like to learn some fun projects,

[00:12:28] that's a great place to do it.

[00:12:29] Yeah, something to keep the kids busy, huh?

[00:12:32] Speaking of kids, school is almost over.

[00:12:35] And Grace Church on Laurel is having a huge end-of-school party.

[00:12:40] They have carnival games, dunk take, Euro bungee.

[00:12:44] I don't know what Euro bungee is.

[00:12:45] It sounds bouncy.

[00:12:47] The jelly ball arena.

[00:12:49] Food trucks, as you said.

[00:12:51] The Choo Choo Train and inflatables.

[00:12:53] It's completely free.

[00:12:54] It's for two hours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

[00:12:57] And that is May 31st at Grace Baptist Church on Laurel Road.

[00:13:02] It says bring the whole family.

[00:13:04] Yeah.

[00:13:05] And it's free.

[00:13:06] Lots of, you know what they say.

[00:13:07] Lots of good things.

[00:13:08] You know what I say.

[00:13:09] If it's free, it's for me.

[00:13:11] It's free.

[00:13:14] Hey, we want to thank you guys for listening

[00:13:16] about one year anniversary.

[00:13:17] And we're going to be switching it up in the near future.

[00:13:20] We want to also know what you want to do,

[00:13:22] what you want to hear.

[00:13:24] Tell us what you like, what you don't like.

[00:13:27] You're going to be adding guests to the show.

[00:13:30] Yeah, we're splitting up.

[00:13:32] We're splitting up.

[00:13:33] Yeah.

[00:13:36] I'm going to do some interviews.

[00:13:39] Sure, he's going to do some interviews.

[00:13:40] It's going to make our scheduling a whole lot easier
