[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.
[00:00:07] Alright, here we go. Here we go, episode 51.
[00:00:12] Yeah, we're doing it in person.
[00:00:14] We are because we got to hang out with the fine folks at Mission Barbecue this afternoon.
[00:00:20] They gave us some food. They gave us a lot of information about what Mission Barbecue is all about.
[00:00:26] Stay tuned for that. That'll be coming up in a little bit here.
[00:00:28] We have their opening date and we're going to tell you it.
[00:00:30] First, let's get into some of these posts this week.
[00:00:32] Is it a lake or is it a pond?
[00:00:34] It's neither, but it is at Vineyard by Architectural Justice.
[00:00:38] They are cave hunting.
[00:00:40] So what they're doing is getting rid of the dirt and bringing out the natural limestone of their hill with an excavator and a pressure washer
[00:00:49] and hoping that in the process of that they find a cave because one of the nearby properties has a cave
[00:00:55] and anything is possible.
[00:00:57] But you can tell they're going at it getting that vineyard ready.
[00:01:00] Yeah, that's really exciting to see the videos that they're putting together and all of the progress that they're making.
[00:01:05] I love following their journey on Instagram and Facebook.
[00:01:09] So what else we got?
[00:01:10] Do you see that they painted the old KFC completely white?
[00:01:13] It looks horrible.
[00:01:14] Why did they do that on the brick?
[00:01:16] Like, did they send somebody out and they said paint the building and...
[00:01:19] I'm pretty sure there's a city ordinance that is banning that against that color brick
[00:01:24] because it doesn't match.
[00:01:25] It looks like a marshmallow with windows.
[00:01:27] Oh, it's horrible.
[00:01:28] It looks absolutely horrible.
[00:01:30] They should have left it and they just redid it shortly before they closed.
[00:01:33] Like maybe a year or two before they closed.
[00:01:35] Yeah, somebody asked if it was being turned in anything because obviously they painted it white.
[00:01:40] So I reached out to Grant, the city economic development guy.
[00:01:45] And he said no, nothing's been submitted yet.
[00:01:48] So I hope it gets sold by winter otherwise nobody's going to be able to find it.
[00:01:51] Right.
[00:01:55] They'll have to paint it all over again.
[00:01:57] Oh, how about this post?
[00:01:58] Oh, jeez.
[00:01:59] Don't park in front of the mailbox for Pete's sakes.
[00:02:02] Yeah.
[00:02:03] I don't think that's unreasonable but...
[00:02:05] Yeah, so they got a letter from their neighbor that said don't park in front of the mailbox.
[00:02:09] It said please.
[00:02:10] Please.
[00:02:11] It said please.
[00:02:12] And I think we really should have been given a picture to get the full context of the post.
[00:02:17] Right.
[00:02:18] Is there another place you can park?
[00:02:19] Right.
[00:02:20] How close to the mailbox?
[00:02:21] I live in a cul-de-sac and every spot available is in front of the mailbox.
[00:02:26] Right.
[00:02:27] So some days I don't get the mail and that's okay.
[00:02:29] Yeah, the bills can wait another day.
[00:02:31] Right?
[00:02:32] But that got a lot of posts, a lot of traction.
[00:02:35] Yeah, some of the things you guys...
[00:02:37] Come on, Alyssa, let us see where you're parking in relation to the mailbox so we can come back and...
[00:02:42] We have to make a fully informed decision.
[00:02:45] Make our judgment call.
[00:02:46] Right, exactly.
[00:02:49] Progress, I guess, right?
[00:02:50] It's coming down.
[00:02:51] Yeah.
[00:02:52] Old car wash.
[00:02:53] Yeah, over at Brunswick Plaza by the movie theater.
[00:02:57] Closed, the self-serve car wash.
[00:03:00] So now we just have the one...
[00:03:02] The one down on Ford...
[00:03:03] Oh no, we have two.
[00:03:04] No, we have two.
[00:03:05] Two.
[00:03:06] One on Perlin, Grafton-ish kind of up there.
[00:03:08] And then down, way down, Perl, Pass, Laurel on the right by Thirsty's Drive-In.
[00:03:13] Drive-through.
[00:03:14] Yes.
[00:03:15] Okay.
[00:03:16] Oh, and there's one more.
[00:03:17] Where?
[00:03:18] Across from Drug Mart.
[00:03:19] On 303.
[00:03:20] They have a self-service bay in that one too, so...
[00:03:24] They sure do.
[00:03:26] Brunswick Hometown Heroes Program for Veterans Day.
[00:03:30] Every year they sell 56 banners.
[00:03:33] That'll be flown on telephone poles along Center Road in Brunswick from approximately October 21st through November 18th.
[00:03:40] Anybody can buy those banners to support their veteran and their family.
[00:03:44] The banners can be purchased in two sizes, 30 by 76 for 100 or 14 and a half inches by 36.
[00:03:51] Those are 50.
[00:03:52] Those are displayed in your front yard.
[00:03:54] So the big one for 100 gets put on poles and the other one gets displayed in your front yard.
[00:03:59] You must submit an order by September 1st and you can contact Joe Destro for more information on that.
[00:04:06] That's the first time I've seen it ever test.
[00:04:08] Yeah.
[00:04:09] Usually they just appear.
[00:04:10] It sells out every year somehow.
[00:04:12] Good.
[00:04:13] You went to this, didn't you?
[00:04:14] Did you go to this one?
[00:04:15] No.
[00:04:16] Oh, this is Medina.
[00:04:17] So in case you guys missed it, Medina County homeowners can apply for a home improvement loan.
[00:04:23] You can apply for this loan.
[00:04:26] It's a low fixed interest rate available through September 2024.
[00:04:30] It's good for most home repairs.
[00:04:33] It's a low fixed interest rate available through September 2024.
[00:04:37] It's good for most home repairs, ceiling wall resurfacing, dex patios, windows, security systems,
[00:04:43] and it's up to 2% below the bank's current interest rate for home improvement loans.
[00:04:48] That's a program of the Medina County Treasurer, John Burke.
[00:04:52] And for more information, you can contact the Medina County Treasurer's office.
[00:04:59] So here we are.
[00:05:00] We're welcoming a little guy here.
[00:05:02] I'm going to introduce her.
[00:05:03] And so we've got spring on two farms.
[00:05:06] Yeah, I think they're having a competition.
[00:05:08] Right.
[00:05:09] Yeah.
[00:05:10] Want to remind everybody too if you're interested, Brunswick Celebration Independence Parade,
[00:05:15] July 7th at 2 o'clock.
[00:05:17] So if you're interested in doing that, Brunswick business owners, organizations, whomever,
[00:05:23] contact Sheila Watson at remax.net or 330 416 6181.
[00:05:30] You must have your entry submitted by June 1st.
[00:05:33] Very cool.
[00:05:34] And without further ado, let's head over to the interview with Mission Barbecue.
[00:05:41] Hey, welcome back everyone.
[00:05:43] We are visiting today with Mission Barbecue that will be opening up here in Brunswick
[00:05:48] in what, a month?
[00:05:50] June 18th.
[00:05:51] June 18th.
[00:05:52] And that voice is the voice of David Cobb.
[00:05:55] I'm an area director of operations for the Cleveland area.
[00:05:59] And then let's just go around the table.
[00:06:01] You are?
[00:06:02] Kelly Green, the community ambassador for the new Brunswick location.
[00:06:06] My name is Dan Bucci.
[00:06:07] I'm one of the service heart leaders.
[00:06:08] You've probably seen me posting frequently once a week or so about the hiring opportunities
[00:06:13] that we have here a little bit more about what the brand has bought as well.
[00:06:15] Great.
[00:06:16] And last but certainly not least, we saved the bus from us.
[00:06:18] I'm Anthony Cania.
[00:06:20] I'll be the general manager.
[00:06:21] If anybody's been to Parma, I'll pop I because my call sign.
[00:06:25] Got it.
[00:06:26] Got it.
[00:06:27] Your call sign?
[00:06:28] Yeah.
[00:06:29] So tell us about that.
[00:06:30] What is that?
[00:06:31] So I was promoted to pit master and all the pit masters get a call sign.
[00:06:34] So I think lovingly, lovingly.
[00:06:36] Yeah, they nicknamed me Popeye because I used to eat collard greens like every day.
[00:06:40] So that was my spinach.
[00:06:41] And you have big arms so you work out a lot.
[00:06:44] I think it's also when I got frustrated in the kitchen I'd walk around there and
[00:06:46] mumble a little bit so I think that's kind of what it came from.
[00:06:50] So and we want to thank you guys for the food.
[00:06:52] We're going to put up a picture of the food that they gave Lucas and I a spread
[00:06:55] and we're going to take it back to Lucas and shout out on that a little bit.
[00:06:58] But what are some of the things that you want to highlight for the Brunswick community
[00:07:02] that you guys are bringing that make you unique in your barbecue and stuff like that?
[00:07:07] Yeah, so I will tell you that one of the biggest things that makes us unique from most restaurants
[00:07:12] and or businesses is that we're very patriotic and proud.
[00:07:16] We opened our first doors on 9-11, 2011.
[00:07:20] And we did so very intently for the reasons probably inside your head.
[00:07:24] We care very deeply about our country.
[00:07:26] We want that date to have maybe a little bit of a more positive spin on it.
[00:07:31] We also want to maybe take back a little bit of what was taken from us.
[00:07:35] And so yeah, very important with our, with what we want to be.
[00:07:39] We want to be the first responder to the first responder.
[00:07:42] So anybody that's raised their right hand to protect serve or save,
[00:07:46] we want them to know that we want to be there for them in their time and need whenever that is.
[00:07:50] And so if there's ever a loss of life in the line of duty,
[00:07:54] we'd be knocking on the door to see what we can do to feed that.
[00:07:57] Usually it's the funeral or maybe they have some sort of a gathering that night.
[00:08:01] We're generally going to be there.
[00:08:03] When it comes to things like that, we don't have an off button.
[00:08:06] We have fed up to 3,000 people without charging a dime.
[00:08:10] In fact, the riots, I don't know if you remember the riots back in Maryland, in Baltimore, Maryland.
[00:08:14] There were five camps throughout the city.
[00:08:17] And the only people on those camps were going to be police, fire rescue and military on those camps.
[00:08:22] And Mission Barbecue.
[00:08:23] We were the only food person or vendor allowed to be on each one of those camps.
[00:08:28] We ended up feeding 23,000 of them throughout that course of the time they were in the riots.
[00:08:35] I can tell you Mission Barbecue is nothing more than the two best friends with the love of their country
[00:08:41] and the love of food got together back then and put this all together.
[00:08:45] Knew that there was no one really honoring our patriots of this country, our police, fire rescue and military.
[00:08:52] They wanted to make sure that we made that very known.
[00:08:55] So if you've been into any of our Mission Barbecues, you'll see right away the pictures, the patches of the heroes that are on the wall.
[00:09:01] And every day at noon, we'll stop to sing the national anthem as well.
[00:09:05] Now because we have to, it's because we want to and to us it's the best two minutes of our day.
[00:09:10] So will we see some maybe familiar faces on the walls in this restaurant?
[00:09:14] You should. And let me tell you, so we when we first opened the doors, there's some stock photos that we'll find from historical entities in the area.
[00:09:24] But the truth is we looked to replace them with actual heroes that come into our restaurant.
[00:09:30] We want our walls to reflect our community that we're in.
[00:09:33] And so if we find out your police, fire rescue or military, we're going to probably hit you up for a picture and say,
[00:09:38] hey, let's get you on the wall. Let's get you up there to where when you come in, you can share that with your family and friends.
[00:09:43] It sounds like they're going to be a great fit, Lucas. Because one of the things that we do that you guys may not know is
[00:09:48] what kind of first responders to the community as far as if there's a fire or something like that.
[00:09:53] Our page rallies together and does immediately response.
[00:09:57] We'll contact police or fire and say what can we need? How can we get in touch with the family sometime the family reaches out to us.
[00:10:03] So it sounds like you guys are going to be a great addition and you know, something like that.
[00:10:07] You might be seeing a lot of us, right?
[00:10:09] She hopes so, yeah.
[00:10:11] Yeah, I've spent some time in Mission Barbecue in Parma.
[00:10:14] So they're following their page quite a lot.
[00:10:17] Again, it's pretty inspiring.
[00:10:20] What were you saying about their size?
[00:10:22] They have great barbecue. They do.
[00:10:25] But their size really set the heart.
[00:10:27] Some of your favorite?
[00:10:28] Oh, their cornbread.
[00:10:30] And I can cheese is good. The collard greens just an animal feel.
[00:10:34] So there's stories behind a lot of our food.
[00:10:38] However, the thing about our food, the reason why you probably like it is everything's handcrafted and homemade made right on premise on every one of our locations.
[00:10:46] All the meat is going to be oak smoke, dry rubbed and then smoked on premise as well.
[00:10:51] So to us, it makes a difference.
[00:10:53] I was talking to somebody today that they sell barbecue but they have it done in a commissary off premise and then they just ship it in and they just eat it from there.
[00:11:00] And this isn't that this is made right here on from scratch.
[00:11:04] What are some of the things that you're looking forward to?
[00:11:07] I'm really looking forward to getting out into the community at the different fire stations, at the different police stations, at the different VFWs.
[00:11:15] We go out there and we drop food off. It's completely free for those locations and we serve those who serve us.
[00:11:23] I recently saw a post that you served what was it? Valley City Fire Department?
[00:11:28] Yes, recently. Last week.
[00:11:30] Yeah, yeah. That looked like a great start.
[00:11:32] Yeah. Absolutely. If it's anything like the one they gave us, absolutely.
[00:11:36] Yeah.
[00:11:37] Absolutely. Dan, what do you want to tell us? You've been in our main contact so far. How's it going and what are you looking forward to?
[00:11:42] I'd say things are going pretty well. We've had pretty positive reception with a lot of high school students.
[00:11:47] I was just at the Brunswick High School job fair a couple days ago last week.
[00:11:52] I have another one coming up with Ohio Means Jobs, a digital job fair for Gen Z.
[00:11:58] So we're definitely getting a lot of those younger kids that are going into college or just sticking around here for a while
[00:12:04] that we want to try to attract those people that we can tell they're good right off the bat
[00:12:08] and we know that they're going to stick around for a long time.
[00:12:10] Not only are they going to serve us, we're going to serve them.
[00:12:12] We're very dedicated to the growth and development of our teammates,
[00:12:15] whether it's if they want to stick with the company long term or if they stick around for like a year or two.
[00:12:20] We always try to support them in whatever ways we can, whether it be helping them find resources for scholarship.
[00:12:24] School or just getting a bottom of the community and just doing volunteer work, making a difference.
[00:12:29] That's just what we're all about.
[00:12:30] What are some of the openings that you have available right now for adults?
[00:12:33] I would say anything. We're looking for both front and back of house positions,
[00:12:36] whether it's GSRs that's our cashier position,
[00:12:39] expeditors making sure our plates are looking, picture perfect presentation as it go out to our customers,
[00:12:45] dining room leaders where they are the host of the party,
[00:12:48] making sure that everyone is doing well in the dining room,
[00:12:51] just making connections, not even just stopping by the table saying,
[00:12:54] oh how's everything great? Cool. Move on now.
[00:12:56] We encourage our dining room leaders and any of our staff to go around and make connections like talk with people,
[00:13:02] make sure that their experiences memorable really go above and beyond.
[00:13:06] And not just those positions but we got to get the food from somewhere.
[00:13:09] So we're looking for our prep cooks that are coming in as early as six in the morning
[00:13:13] and just working hard every single day just to make sure that we have quality food
[00:13:19] to our exact standards. We pour into them, they pour back into us,
[00:13:23] and we have our line cooks who are the first line,
[00:13:25] they're the ones who party food up, plate it up every single day.
[00:13:28] They're the ones making it look great.
[00:13:30] We just try to make sure that they're doing their jobs and taking care of our people.
[00:13:34] Great.
[00:13:35] You talked about the PIPOS being promoted to general manager,
[00:13:38] you have new locations opening up in the area.
[00:13:40] Sounds like a real opportunity for your growth.
[00:13:42] Oh yeah, absolutely.
[00:13:43] Popeye, what about you?
[00:13:44] I'm just excited to be Allen and Brunswick.
[00:13:47] Oh nice.
[00:13:48] Yeah, I was working with Promenade for the past few years.
[00:13:50] I'm just excited to be in the hometown, my kids go to school here.
[00:13:54] So I know like Brian and Joseph B. Taylor had his 100th birthday
[00:13:59] so I have a couple connections from being in Promenade
[00:14:02] it's just exciting to be close to the home
[00:14:04] and be more involved in the community that I live in.
[00:14:07] So I'm just excited to have some regulars meet some new people
[00:14:10] and be supportive of the community that I live in.
[00:14:13] So it's very exciting.
[00:14:14] Who can tell us about the dining room and the inside?
[00:14:17] Do you have a private room?
[00:14:19] How many do you see?
[00:14:21] All that kind of stuff.
[00:14:22] Well first let me touch on what Anthony just said.
[00:14:25] We've already said we love our veterans,
[00:14:27] we love our police fire rescue
[00:14:29] but a special place in our heart for our World War II veterans.
[00:14:33] And we definitely, they're definitely the greatest generation of our time.
[00:14:39] No two questions about it.
[00:14:40] I've never met a World War II veteran that wasn't one of the most humble people that I've ever met.
[00:14:46] We also, we never charge our World War II veterans
[00:14:50] so anytime there's a World War II veteran in our restaurant
[00:14:52] we would take care of their meal for them.
[00:14:54] We also would announce them to the dining room as well
[00:14:57] just to make them feel special and to give them a little bit of an appreciation that is well deserved too.
[00:15:03] So as far as our dining room goes
[00:15:05] we've got dead center, we've got the American flag hanging
[00:15:08] with the Ohio flag to the left of it
[00:15:10] and then also the POW flag to the right of that.
[00:15:13] I mentioned already we stop every day at noon, we sing National Anthem as well.
[00:15:18] Pictures on the wall of the local heroes as well.
[00:15:22] We've got, yep, we have police, sand fire, jackets up
[00:15:26] and we have patches from patches are fun.
[00:15:29] They're just all around the dining room.
[00:15:31] We nail them into the wall, make sure that we get your patch up.
[00:15:34] We'll have sometimes thousands of patches that will get nailed to the wall.
[00:15:38] Do you accept them? So people bring them in?
[00:15:40] Yeah, we believe in earning what we get
[00:15:44] and so if you were to come in and want to donate a patch
[00:15:48] we would love to take it and put it up on that wall
[00:15:51] or picture of a hero that was here in the area.
[00:15:54] Love to do that as well.
[00:15:56] Awesome. So if anyone has any of that stuff, who should they contact
[00:16:00] to get that stuff to you guys?
[00:16:02] So anybody as a server leader in the Brunswick location,
[00:16:05] Anthony of course is the GM, you can get a hold of him as well.
[00:16:09] Okay, great.
[00:16:11] You getting it?
[00:16:13] No.
[00:16:14] I've had quite a few people or a couple of people through the Facebook page
[00:16:17] already reach out and say like hey I've got patches and stuff.
[00:16:20] It was named DJ Winkler, he already stopped by with a couple of stuff
[00:16:23] and then he's like, I don't know, I'm gonna go and get a few of your donations
[00:16:27] DJ can't wait to find a great spot to put them up on the wall
[00:16:30] and yeah if you ever see a post that I make on the Facebook page
[00:16:33] and you want to bring something in,
[00:16:35] just shoot me a message.
[00:16:37] We're here Monday through Friday, 9 to 6 in the trailer
[00:16:39] and then one of us here is over here on Saturday from 9 to 12
[00:16:42] on Saturdays.
[00:16:44] Very nice. So you can contribute to the
[00:16:47] the ambiance and the recognition
[00:16:50] and the stumbling over words. That's just so cool.
[00:16:53] The whole mission, no pun intended, no pun intended.
[00:16:56] Behind all this, this just never knew.
[00:16:59] Well it's funny you said that because
[00:17:02] how our founders came up with the name
[00:17:05] Bill Cross which is our CEO
[00:17:08] they were going to start a different concept
[00:17:11] and they kept coming up with mission on it.
[00:17:14] Right? And so he was talking to
[00:17:17] a retired Marine state trooper
[00:17:20] and he asked him, what does mission mean to you?
[00:17:23] And he goes, mission to me is
[00:17:26] you've signed the blank check. You don't know if you're coming back.
[00:17:29] You're taking off and you might not be coming back.
[00:17:31] So for us, mission as our name
[00:17:33] is very important to have that there.
[00:17:35] Terry's a lot of weight. Yeah, she does.
[00:17:38] Anything else you guys want to wrap it up with? Anyone?
[00:17:41] Let's talk a little bit more about the food.
[00:17:44] That's a good choice.
[00:17:46] So it's not waitress serve.
[00:17:48] Tell us a little about what the experience was like
[00:17:51] for a regular person that comes in.
[00:17:53] So you're going to come up to our GSRs at the counter
[00:17:57] and you'll order who did the register.
[00:18:00] If I could cut in real quick. Sure.
[00:18:02] When you walk into the door, you should be greeted
[00:18:05] every single day here with a handheld hi- hi folks!
[00:18:08] Hi, I'm Steve. I'm a friend here.
[00:18:11] I'm used to when you hear it a lot when you're coming to Mission Barbecue.
[00:18:14] They've been the first time I went to one. I was like, it's scared me to death.
[00:18:18] So yeah, we go up to our GSRs, got any questions?
[00:18:20] They can definitely answer them. They're all very knowledgeable.
[00:18:23] I'll get your name from you. We'll get your order.
[00:18:26] And then we'll call your name up at the counter to come in.
[00:18:30] Grab your food. I'm proud of that.
[00:18:33] Then you go sit down in the dining room and enjoy yourself.
[00:18:36] It's easy peasy.
[00:18:38] What's some of your favorite size?
[00:18:40] Cogrens are definitely my favorite size.
[00:18:43] I like to mix the big beans with coleslaw.
[00:18:46] Proteins though, I gotta say, are probably my favorite is turkey.
[00:18:52] They all have white sauce. You guys have that.
[00:18:56] I'll let you know after we go to the house.
[00:18:59] That chicken to be with. I told you guys, that's my hashtag.
[00:19:06] Want to thank everybody again for joining us?
[00:19:09] Thank you guys. Appreciate it.
[00:19:11] Thank you for coming. Appreciate you having us on.
[00:19:13] All right, don't forget Mission Barbecue opening June 18.
[00:19:18] Be there. Thanks guys.
[00:19:21] How exciting. We've been waiting forever for Mission Barbecue.
[00:19:24] Good stuff. I mean, like I said, I've been there before.
[00:19:27] I'm excited to have them in the Brunswick community,
[00:19:29] supporting the Brunswick community.
[00:19:31] I'll tell you they do so much for the areas that they serve.
[00:19:35] Not that we don't have a lot of great businesses
[00:19:37] that do a lot of great things, but it's nice to know that coming in,
[00:19:41] that we're going to get some real great support from them.
[00:19:44] And what did we learn as we were leaving?
[00:19:46] Oh, that the door with the window above it is not theirs.
[00:19:49] It's not theirs. It's first watch.
[00:19:51] They said if that was our door, that wouldn't have happened.
[00:19:54] We did a little mini field trip.
[00:19:56] We left the trailer.
[00:19:57] We walked over there with four representatives from Mission Barbecue
[00:20:00] who didn't even know that existed.
[00:20:03] Tell them it was a hot topic on the page
[00:20:05] and they reassured us that that is first watch.
[00:20:08] That's not theirs.
[00:20:09] So now they're going to look at it every day.
[00:20:11] Yeah, exactly. Now they can't unsee it.
[00:20:13] So welcome to Mission Barbecue.
[00:20:16] Don't forget June 18th is their opening date.
[00:20:18] So we'll keep reminding you guys the coming weeks.
[00:20:22] And let's head over to Roger at Hounds Town
[00:20:25] for the pooch of the week.
[00:20:26] Now they're puppy.
[00:20:27] Hey guys, it's Roger at Hounds Town with my weekly update.
[00:20:30] So I'll let you know that this week we have Roxy in the house
[00:20:33] from Brea Animal Rescue.
[00:20:35] She's a seven month old female mountain kermix.
[00:20:38] Not only does she like humans,
[00:20:40] but she also loves interacting with other dogs.
[00:20:42] She is up for adoption.
[00:20:43] We'd love to have anybody who may be interested in adopting her
[00:20:47] call us to set up a meet and greet.
[00:20:49] Or if you do know anybody else that might be interested,
[00:20:52] please do reach out to them
[00:20:53] and let them know that Roxy is with us this week.
[00:20:56] Also just as a reminder for all of our listeners out there
[00:20:59] here at Hounds Town as we head into the summer months,
[00:21:02] we'll be giving you a free day of dog care.
[00:21:04] Not only your doggy daycare needs on a daily basis,
[00:21:07] but also have boarding opportunities well
[00:21:09] for your dogs to stay overnight while you go out of town.
[00:21:12] If you haven't checked us out yet,
[00:21:14] we give you a free day of doggy daycare to come in and check us out.
[00:21:16] We'd love to have you come in and check us out
[00:21:18] and then get those boarding stays booked with us.
[00:21:20] And then lastly, Brea Animal Rescue always has
[00:21:23] plenty of dogs and cats up for adoption.
[00:21:25] So if Roxy may not be the right one for you,
[00:21:28] but you are looking for a dog or cat to adopt,
[00:21:31] they've got all of their dogs and cats that are up for adoption on there.
[00:21:34] I hope everybody has a great weekend
[00:21:36] and hopefully we'll get Roxy adopted out very soon.
[00:21:39] Have a good day.
[00:21:42] Another cute dog,
[00:21:43] so if you're interested in adopting or meeting,
[00:21:45] you can visit them at Hounds Town Brunswick
[00:21:48] or contact Roger or Brea Animal Rescue.
[00:21:51] Yeah, and even if not, spread the word.
[00:21:53] I think that's how these dogs are getting adopted so quickly.
[00:21:56] Somebody out there is doing a good job.
[00:21:59] All right, let's talk about some of the things to do
[00:22:01] in the two on two.
[00:22:02] What do we got?
[00:22:03] First up, we have the fishing derby coming up Saturday, May 11th
[00:22:08] at Brunswick Lake.
[00:22:10] Rain date is the 18th.
[00:22:12] The derby runs from 8.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
[00:22:16] and this is a free event for ages 16 and under.
[00:22:20] Check in at eight o'clock.
[00:22:22] And again, it goes from 8.30 to 11.
[00:22:25] Saturday, May 11th at Brunswick Lake.
[00:22:27] Now that the weather's getting warm,
[00:22:29] Ignite is having tomorrow night burners and brooves.
[00:22:33] The North Coast Bernice Mountain Dog Club of Ohio
[00:22:37] will be hanging out on the patio for burners and brooves
[00:22:41] for an hour meetup.
[00:22:42] Three o'clock on Saturday, so if you have a Bernice Mountain dog,
[00:22:47] they are dog friendly all the time,
[00:22:49] but at this particular time
[00:22:50] or if you just have a love for Bernice Mountain dogs,
[00:22:53] you can check them out.
[00:22:54] I just want to hear you keep saying Bernice Mountain dogs
[00:22:56] a few more times.
[00:22:57] So they have bike and bruise.
[00:22:59] Right.
[00:23:00] Dan or Dave.
[00:23:02] Oh my gosh, Dan Dave.
[00:23:03] Dave Gellhardt does bike and bruise over there
[00:23:05] and now they have Bernice Mountain dogs.
[00:23:10] I think that's what they're called.
[00:23:11] So it's called burners and brooves.
[00:23:13] And again, that's tomorrow at three o'clock.
[00:23:16] So when you're done fishing,
[00:23:18] you can go over there have lunch and see the pooches.
[00:23:21] Mother's Day this Sunday.
[00:23:23] We've got a list of events pinned at the top of the page.
[00:23:25] So make sure you check it out.
[00:23:26] We've got everything from Medina to Royalton and beyond.
[00:23:31] So something definitely in every budget
[00:23:34] and there's gift ideas in there.
[00:23:37] So you make sure that you check that out.
[00:23:39] Last minute gift ideas for mom too.
[00:23:41] Very cool.
[00:23:42] I can't forget about the moms.
[00:23:43] Wood and nickel release their May calendar.
[00:23:45] They got survey says every Wednesday,
[00:23:48] Quizzard trivia every Tuesday.
[00:23:50] And then they got a lot of food specials
[00:23:52] throughout the week.
[00:23:53] I like when they put a calendar together.
[00:23:55] Yeah, makes it easy.
[00:23:56] And last but not least,
[00:23:57] we have the wrap pack and more dinner in a show
[00:24:01] at St. Ambrose Hillcourt Hall.
[00:24:03] This is coming up on Sunday May 26th,
[00:24:05] sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
[00:24:07] The doors open at 5 p.m.
[00:24:09] and dinner is at 6 p.m.
[00:24:11] and the show begins at 7.
[00:24:12] So it's dinner and a show.
[00:24:14] You got chicken parm, dessert, sideboards
[00:24:16] and bring your own beverage.
[00:24:17] You can use the QR code on the screen
[00:24:19] or contact St. Ambrose Parish.
[00:24:21] It's $25 per ticket,
[00:24:23] which is pretty reasonable for dinner and a show.
[00:24:25] Dinner and a show, yeah.
[00:24:26] With the wrap pack and more.
[00:24:27] And that helps them support the Medina County
[00:24:30] and around the state with developmental disabilities.
[00:24:33] That's where those funds go.
[00:24:34] And the Knights of Columbus do a lot of great things as well.
[00:24:37] We should probably remind everybody
[00:24:39] that we're coming up on our one-year anniversary
[00:24:41] and we're going to celebrate
[00:24:42] with the old pie in the face from the auction.
[00:24:45] Lucas is so excited. He can't wait.
[00:24:47] That's going to be at the backyard May 15th
[00:24:50] at 7 o'clock.
[00:24:52] You're not going to want to miss that.
[00:24:54] I'm sure it'll be...
[00:24:55] Have we at least figured out what kind of pie it is?
[00:24:57] No.
[00:24:58] Open mouth or closed mouth pie?
[00:25:00] Depends what flavor it is.
[00:25:02] Boggle goggles, yeah.
[00:25:04] We maybe a Scottle sponsor
[00:25:07] over at Great Scottle sponsor a pie for us.
[00:25:10] So it doesn't have to be just a plain, you know,
[00:25:12] boring one.
[00:25:13] But that'll do it for us now, I guess.
[00:25:15] Yep. 51 in the books.
[00:25:17] Next one next week is 52.
[00:25:19] We've been doing it a whole year.
[00:25:21] And we're not slowing down.
[00:25:23] Nope.
[00:25:24] Take care, Brunswick.
[00:25:25] See you guys later.
[00:25:26] Bye.
[00:25:49] Thank you for joining us for another therapy session.
