[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly
[00:00:10] All right everybody, we are doing episode number 46 Kimberly couldn't make it tonight. So once again, I am doing it with my wife
[00:00:17] Aaron
[00:00:19] Say hello Aaron. Thanks for joining us. Hello Aaron. Thanks for joining us
[00:00:23] So let's kick it off like we normally do just without Kimberly
[00:00:26] I'm sad she couldn't make it this week, but she will be back next week first post
[00:00:30] We got here is turtle that they rescued old man snapper over in North Park everybody
[00:00:34] That's been there has probably seen that wopper your oversized turtle. It was a big turtle
[00:00:40] Look like he got stuck
[00:00:42] You know as you know, they were dredging the lake and the water shallow and the mud is thick that poor guy
[00:00:48] Got stuck in the mud around the outer banks and here's a video of him saving the turtle that things got away
[00:00:54] 50 pounds 60 pounds at least okay now you and I walk a lot and we walk to North Park a lot
[00:01:02] So we're walking we see this turtle. It's just you and I what do you do? Do you do what he did?
[00:01:07] I probably try to save it. I don't know if
[00:01:10] Yeah, I don't know if I think I'd probably just climb in there and say that
[00:01:13] Okay, so now get a stick and he was I'm not afraid of it like biting me or anything like that
[00:01:18] I don't
[00:01:20] It's not even so much that I think I would be afraid of it
[00:01:23] I'm not even sure I would know where to start to do. Where do you it's like digging anything out of some mud
[00:01:28] You just pry it out or pull it out or kick it out or push it out. I don't know
[00:01:33] All right, if I'm being totally honest
[00:01:35] I'm not walking over there and trying to save the turtle even though I would like to so what would I do if I am
[00:01:39] Alone and I see this turtle. Well, I guess you would call the non-emergency police line and
[00:01:44] As for the animal control guy, but he would come out and do it
[00:01:50] Good posts. Thank you. Good Samaritan that turtle has probably lived a long life
[00:01:54] And thanks to you who live many years to come. I hope yes, we got a check on him every so often, right?
[00:01:59] I like this post the draft house saloon had dingus day earlier this week. We went last year
[00:02:04] We did I'm so bummed we couldn't go again this year
[00:02:08] The polka pirates played and they played last year
[00:02:11] They were a good time and it looked like a fun crowd again this year
[00:02:14] Everybody having a good time and dressed in red with their squirt guns and yeah when we went last year
[00:02:18] I know idea about the squirt gun thing, but I would have been prepared this year had we been able to go
[00:02:24] Didn't you get shot in the face and you're like what the heck is going on?
[00:02:26] I sure did. Right in the eye actually
[00:02:29] Good stuff. He shot my eye out
[00:02:33] Here's another post we have here the group member says the Brunswick boys varsity baseball team
[00:02:39] Y'all have raised them well
[00:02:40] My mom and I went to Panini's for dinner and the boys were waiting to be seated
[00:02:44] They politely moved out of the way to let my mom through the door to get to where I was seated
[00:02:50] They were well-mannered and respectful when seated as well
[00:02:53] Just thought it was nice to see it is nice to see you know one bad Apple spoils the bunch
[00:02:59] You know you see these posts about
[00:03:02] teens running around doing not so nice things so it's really nice that people take the time to
[00:03:07] Recognize something like that. Definitely love seeing posts like that
[00:03:11] Here's another one varsity lacrosse is still undefeated
[00:03:15] Congratulations to them. They beat the Olmsted falls 10 to 6 the group member said this is what they do after every game
[00:03:22] Picture you're taking a knee and if you've never watched lacrosse check out their schedule and come watch you won't be disappointed
[00:03:28] So I'll see if I can get their schedule and point it up there. I have not seen a lacrosse game in person
[00:03:33] I have it's an interesting sport. Yeah
[00:03:37] Uh-oh looks like this post got deleted. Oh dirty delete. It's a dirty delete. Don't worry. I got the screenshots
[00:03:46] This group member said big complaint and disappointment from Hickory Ridge Cinema
[00:03:50] Took family to see a movie and was told anytime my kid made a noise that he had to leave the movie
[00:03:56] My kid is too and was not crying was talking to the guy in front of us was complaining
[00:04:02] Purchase tickets for all of us
[00:04:04] So my kid had to just as much right to be there and was no different than a person talking laughing or even crying
[00:04:10] We'll no longer be going there
[00:04:13] So that reached three almost three thousand people before it was deleted by the poster
[00:04:19] Almost everybody so that he was in the wrong. I
[00:04:23] Mean two is very young to take a child to the movie
[00:04:27] It also would depend on what movie before it got deleted. Did it say what movie it was?
[00:04:33] After a long everybody was asking what movie finally looks like the wife same last name did respond Godzilla vs. Kong
[00:04:43] There weren't a whole lot of kids movies that day
[00:04:46] So people were speculating on what they went to see and it was Godzilla vs. Kong
[00:04:50] Okay, I you have to know your own child if you believe that they are capable of
[00:04:56] Going to whatever movie you choose to take them to
[00:05:00] You take on the responsibility of them
[00:05:04] Behaving now it said he was talking to the guy in front of me
[00:05:07] The guy responding like were they having a conversation? Was he just at fault? I don't know
[00:05:11] I don't know but you know whether you're two or you're 22 or
[00:05:16] 88 or any of those numbers if you're being a distraction in the theater
[00:05:20] I would hope
[00:05:21] The theater would ask you to quiet down or leave, you know for everybody's else's sake
[00:05:27] You know you don't go to a movie to have a conversation or you know
[00:05:31] Laugh when it's not time to laugh or talk when it's not time. You know what I mean?
[00:05:35] Yes, so yeah, I don't know but uh couldn't couldn't hold on and had to delete that post I guess
[00:05:42] Oh this one. Oh
[00:05:44] This is amazing
[00:05:46] Great job ladies at Brunswick Reformed Church
[00:05:51] I don't know how many people have seen that tick tock trend where women get together and they trick their spouses into
[00:05:59] Wearing the same shirt and then they all show up at a gathering wearing the same shirt
[00:06:02] They got an entire congregation to have all of their men
[00:06:07] Show up in the exact same shirt fantastic
[00:06:09] Yeah, I mean if you if you threw a shirt on the bed and said hey here. I got this for you wear it
[00:06:15] I probably would I wouldn't question it but now seeing this in all those tick tocks
[00:06:20] I know I'm probably going to show up wearing the same thing as other people and I'm probably be okay with that but
[00:06:25] But yeah, I wonder how many of these guys
[00:06:27] Just did it and then got surprised when they got there and how many of them just went along with it
[00:06:32] I think I'm being tricked. I don't do it anyways. Yeah, so that was a funny stir trick
[00:06:37] Uh, here's my April Fool's trick
[00:06:40] Uh, I posted that Brunswick council okay's installation of 48 speed bumps on 303 to kerb speeders
[00:06:47] And that ward 5 councilman Calhoun said everyone flies down 303
[00:06:52] So this is a temporary measure to determine if it will slow drivers down and uh, it was about 50 50
[00:06:58] Some people believe me and some people um thought it was a funny, um, April Fool's joke
[00:07:05] So I think I think I got some people with that well played. Thank you
[00:07:09] Uh, Sam's the man's tree service used their crane to uh lift a cross up for Easter
[00:07:15] I thought that was pretty cool. Yeah, that's really nice because he uh, he now owns that property over on pearl and
[00:07:22] Graffton graffton right behind the red onion. So that was a nice nice thing for the community. Definitely
[00:07:29] Oh
[00:07:31] Susan
[00:07:33] Susan Susan Susan
[00:07:37] Oh
[00:07:38] She posted a picture of uh, I don't know if that's mission barbecues door or first watches door
[00:07:43] But it is slightly off
[00:07:46] Compared to the window above it and you can't not see it right
[00:07:51] I definitely know I can't and now that we're bringing up on this podcast. I bet even more will go look at it
[00:07:58] I was driving by it today and I noticed that next to the power panels
[00:08:03] It looks like there's some kind of downspout and it is not straight either the the black pole. Yeah, yeah
[00:08:09] I swear it looks like it's about
[00:08:11] I don't know maybe four or five degrees off, but it's definitely not straight
[00:08:15] I want to go over there with a level just to make sure but I don't know if the whole building is
[00:08:19] Is made to be wonky like like a really believe it or not thing or something. I don't know
[00:08:23] Should we just sort of find how many things are wrong with this building?
[00:08:27] But uh, you definitely cannot unsee that and now you'll drive by and look at that
[00:08:31] Black downspout and you'll notice that it's a little off too. I'm not sure I would have noticed this
[00:08:36] Maybe maybe right not right away. Maybe eventually but now
[00:08:41] I my eyes are drawn to it every time I'm in that intersection
[00:08:47] This is slightly out of town, but a couple people have asked the question
[00:08:51] Does anyone know what's going in at the corner of Bennett road just before 130th?
[00:08:57] So that's inside north royal tin right behind that gas station
[00:09:01] The speedway I think is a speedway and I reached out to north royal tin council people, you know, no no councilman is safe
[00:09:09] from me and
[00:09:11] He quickly responded that um, it's not your business
[00:09:15] No, he said that they're just clearing out the land right now
[00:09:19] They did have approval for a mixed use
[00:09:22] Development which is a little bit of condos a little bit of commercial and that gas station, but it has since expired
[00:09:29] So we will probably expect them to come back with something after they clear the land out
[00:09:34] But right now it's just land, but I would expect to see some businesses going in there
[00:09:39] And that's all the posts we have for the week. Let's head over to roger at houndstown. He's gonna tell us about the
[00:09:45] Foster dog that he has available
[00:09:48] From baria animal rescue. Let's hear about comment

[00:10:12] He did go through the grafting correctional institute dog training program
[00:10:16] So knows all of his basic commands and is truly just a good dog all around getting along with all of the dogs
[00:10:22] That he's been face to face with in our interactive play

[00:10:44] Just do a search for them and you'll find that and they've got plenty of dogs and cats that are up for adoption
[00:10:49] So um, we're just helping them out by featuring the dog each week here
[00:10:53] They have plenty of other dogs in cats that are up for adoption. So that's it for this week
[00:10:58] Really appreciate you sharing this message with everybody and we will talk to you again next week. Have a good week
[00:11:05] No really
[00:11:07] newly released from the correctional facility right right so if you like four legged inmates
[00:11:13] Check out comment over at houndstown brunswick. Thanks roger for sharing that with us
[00:11:18] All right, let's take a real quick break when we come back. We'll do things to do in the two one two

[00:11:38] We really do want to hear from you. Have a great day everybody. See you soon
[00:11:42] And we're back. Let's start off right with some food
[00:11:44] Uh
[00:11:45] Puente's tiwana tacos is over at family tavern april 6th
[00:11:50] That's this saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Or until sold out. Do you know what a tiwana taco is?
[00:11:56] I do not tell me. Tell me more
[00:11:58] Me neither
[00:11:59] But it is not a lady of the night in tiwana
[00:12:04] It is a flame grilled meat and smoldering mesquite with a whiff of warm mesa
[00:12:10] They're four dollars for a taco or five dollars for a queso taco
[00:12:14] queso taco is
[00:12:16] Melted cheese between the filling and the tortilla
[00:12:19] So i've heard a lot of great things about puente's tiwana tacos
[00:12:23] Mark's been there a couple times now and see if i can make it out there. What else we got april 13th
[00:12:28] We've got monica robins and the ninja cowboys at manzo sports and spirits
[00:12:35] That's it that's all i got
[00:12:41] They are they go on at 8 30. It's a rockin country night
[00:12:46] Like rock in country or rock and country rock in rock in

[00:13:02] We got the wooden nickel calendar is out for the entire month of april
[00:13:07] Tickets are on sale for the pig roast. They got drinks and food specials all month long
[00:13:13] They have their quizard trivia on tuesdays and survey says trivia on wednesdays
[00:13:17] Yeah, i kind of prefer the quiz over the survey says but they're both fun
[00:13:22] I like the survey says over the quiz, but um both are a good time
[00:13:27] Adult night out at northeast ohio extreme games what?
[00:13:31] Yeah eight awesome activities for 20 per person that is tonight at 6 p.m. To 9 p.m
[00:13:38] They have jelly ball and that's like uh, you know, it's not like paintball
[00:13:43] But a softer palette that doesn't leave a mark i'm assuming and much smaller. Yeah
[00:13:49] Glow in the dark dodgeball cornhole axe throwing they have a great axe throwing program love it
[00:13:55] It's like got a uh a screen that projects and you can play different games and use the mouse to score
[00:14:01] And yeah good stuff the rc car track that is so fun if you have not done that
[00:14:07] Highly highly recommend do they still do that on thursdays?
[00:14:10] No, no now you're gonna have to find another places they had it at ignite on some thursdays
[00:14:16] But it's a portable track you can rent for a party or uh or see yet
[00:14:21] I think we should do that sometime because extreme that was a lot of fun. I like the right
[00:14:25] Kids loved it too. Yeah, uh giant yarg pong. I don't know what that is
[00:14:29] I think it's like the big rubber made like garbage can looking things and like a volleyball like beer pong, but it's giant
[00:14:39] Extreme cornhole that sounds a little dangerous
[00:14:43] And uh giant jenga it says bring your own drink of choice and uh again
[00:14:49] Eight activities for the low price of 20 per person. Nobody knows where this is it is on
[00:14:55] North carpenter just north of 303 on the right hand side if you're heading north
[00:15:00] Left hand side if you're heading down a long bumpy driveway with uh, there's a sign there
[00:15:06] It says the courthouse. It's got several businesses there
[00:15:09] Listed including ignite brewery and uh any oh extreme games. That sounds fine. Yeah for 20 bucks
[00:15:16] Right and bring your own drink of choice. Yeah, it's three hours long and then when you're done you can head up to ignite and
[00:15:23] Check that out. What are we doing tonight? Uh, I think we're available. We might have to do that
[00:15:28] I think we might have to do that. Let's go. All right. Let's get into some of these eclipse things because you know
[00:15:33] This is the only time you're going to get to see it better plan a big
[00:15:36] I read a post that local hotels that normally aren't someplace
[00:15:42] You would choose this number one or almost triple the plight price because people are flocking here just to see this
[00:15:47] Yeah, I mean you can only you can only see it in totality in a little area across the us
[00:15:53] I also saw a video of
[00:15:55] Someone asking why do you care that much and the answer was it's life changing
[00:16:02] And it's something you do not want to miss and there are people that chase it as it's going. Oh, wow
[00:16:09] Yeah, I don't no fun that into it, but I am excited to see it. Yeah
[00:16:13] Uh, all right. Here's there. Here's our first event here. We got the brunswick vfw
[00:16:17] Obviously the eclipse is on the 8th. So all these are happening on the 8th
[00:16:20] The patio opens up at 1 p.m. It says bring a chair and enjoy the solar eclipse with us
[00:16:25] Children are welcome hot dog chips and a pop for just five bucks and that's at the brunswick vfw
[00:16:33] Huh, we just figured out what we might be doing that day
[00:16:35] And then the canteen will open up after the eclipse is over. Don't choose too quickly. Here's some more parties
[00:16:40] The backyard at an 1813 pro road just south of loral is also having a solar eclipse party
[00:16:47] That starts at noon
[00:16:49] Kaylee and luke will be holding down the patio bar outside
[00:16:52] And pat will be smoking wings and firing off smash burgers
[00:16:56] It is free glasses with any purchase and the backyard is under some new management
[00:17:01] Okay, so
[00:17:03] This solar eclipse is gonna
[00:17:05] You know, so can we go to start at one and then
[00:17:09] Follow it over to no you get an extra 20 seconds of viewing. Maybe maybe
[00:17:17] All right, here's another one ignite brewing is having a bruising views eclipse party
[00:17:22] They are obviously having the party on the patio where you can watch the eclipse
[00:17:26] They are opening early at 1 30 with peak viewing times around three. That's that's everywhere
[00:17:31] Solar eclipse glasses will be available and they're celebrating with a special tapping of black magic black ipa
[00:17:38] You do have a great great patio and they have great great beer. Yeah, so
[00:17:43] It's definitely an option. Here's another one manzo sports and spirits
[00:17:47] 65 pro road is having a home opener party and
[00:17:51] Solar eclipse party. They open at noon with free hot dogs and two dollar eclipse drink specials
[00:17:57] How are we gonna choose? I don't know. I don't know
[00:18:00] We could fill up on hot dogs and then go have some drinks and then we can go have some smash burgers
[00:18:06] Uh, yeah, I don't know what's I don't know. There's a lot of options here. Okay. Here's one more
[00:18:10] So last one we got here. This one is at red wagon farm in columbia station. So more more delicious beer
[00:18:16] They have a band playing charles gill and the ghost band
[00:18:20] They're giving away solar glasses to the first 500 guests
[00:18:23] So, you know, make sure you have your solar glasses
[00:18:26] If you don't have solar glasses is a couple places you get them for free
[00:18:29] You do need those to see and uh somebody posted in the group that one
[00:18:33] There was a local business that was uh selling fake ones
[00:18:36] They could actually hurt your eyes and it said when you flipped it over to the back
[00:18:38] It said not responsible for damage to the eyes not uh, not uh, something approved. It was uh
[00:18:46] quite quite silly so um, I saw something about
[00:18:50] You shine your cell phone light through it and if you can see the light, they're not
[00:18:56] protective
[00:18:57] I think is what it was interesting
[00:19:00] Uh, but back to uh red wagon farm
[00:19:02] They are open noon to six that day with the band
[00:19:05] With the uh with the beer with the totality like everybody else
[00:19:10] But they're also raffling off three sets of guardian baseball tickets
[00:19:15] Oh, yeah, I don't know if it's for that day. Probably not
[00:19:18] That would be uh too quick
[00:19:20] But that's that's the last and final uh one that I found
[00:19:23] I'm sure there's hundreds of other events around in the area and yeah, if anybody's uh hosting a party too, uh
[00:19:29] Click the link and leave us a message and let us know where to be in what time and what you're having
[00:19:36] And uh, that's all the posts we have. Let's see, uh
[00:19:39] Don't forget tax day is coming up next week. You did ours, right? They're done. Great. They're done
[00:19:46] Um city hall is open Saturdays tomorrow and next Saturday, I believe
[00:19:51] In case you haven't done your city taxes yet
[00:19:53] You need help and you're not available to go during the week
[00:19:56] Probably be aligned the closer you get to the date. That's it. That's all I got. Thanks for doing it with me
[00:20:02] twice
[00:20:04] and uh
[00:20:05] Hopefully timberly be back next week. Yeah, I hope so too. I much rather enjoy listening to the sound of her voice than my own
[00:20:13] And uh, stay safe brunswick. Thanks. Bye
