[00:00:00] Welcome to the Brunswick Group Therapy Podcast with Lucas and Kimberly.

[00:00:06] Ready?

[00:00:11] Yeah, what? Huh?

[00:00:13] Episode 39. We had a glimpse at spring earlier last week.

[00:00:18] I know. It was nice while it lasted.

[00:00:19] Back to snow.

[00:00:20] Now the bottom's dropped out again. But it's been relatively mild, don't you think?

[00:00:25] Yeah. It got so mild that City of Brunswick said that they're hiring for their parks departments, Oh my gosh. But I do believe we're gonna see a Mexican restaurant and I do believe it's gonna happen within two or three months because a liquor permit was requested by Jalisco LLC for that location. And I don't think anybody would request a liquor permit and if they didn't plan on reopening it. So it will be a Mexican restaurant, whether it will stay the name of El Taco Loco,

[00:01:41] I do not know, but I'm excited to see it come back.

[00:01:43] Well, the food better be just as good

[00:01:45] and they better have a cucumber margarita.

[00:01:47] Those are my two requirements. control. Do you know anything about flow control? No, not in this capacity. No. Jeez. Okay, well flow control. Yeah, it's still free to cut that one out. So, flow control is goals. Oh, oh yeah. All right. Enough trash talk. Brunswick discusses its goals. They had a meeting and talked about a lot of what went well in 2022 and 2023. They did make a lot of progress. They talked

[00:04:22] about the all-inclusive playground, it looks like Bruce Drive, Castle Court, talk about this next one to prom dress giveaway or woven with promise. I did this last year. I don't know if I told you guys that I think I did but I was there for the giveaway and it happens to fall the same day of the craft show over at the rec center this year so I won't be there but it's Saturday March 2nd and if you still have a dress you can still get it over to them but you

[00:07:00] do need an appointment if you do need a prom dress and want to go to the giveaway Saturday March 2nd

[00:08:02] and a lot of likes and stuff like that. So just wanted to throw that out there.

[00:08:04] Yeah, and we've seen a lot of movie theaters

[00:08:06] close around the area.

[00:08:08] We don't want to see ours close.

[00:08:10] Yeah, some of those big teams.

[00:08:11] Yeah, exactly.

[00:08:11] Exactly.

[00:08:12] So with the new owners in the plaza over there,

[00:08:14] they would love to settle in and get stuff,

[00:08:17] maybe do some upgrades or something like that.

[00:08:19] A lot of those potholes are gone too now, almost all of them.

[00:08:21] Right?

[00:08:22] Yeah, they did a good job.

[00:08:23] Yeah, and speaking of not on a street. I don't think it's gonna announce anything but oh, we might want to keep our eyes peeled to that location. Yeah, yeah. It's an indicator. And then the last one, you excited about this one? I am. So original Stake and Hoagie going in where Savory Sub was over at HackHawk in 303, be opening soon. So keep your eyes peeled on that and

[00:09:43] good stuff there. Yeah, I've been what we got going on here. We're back. Things to do in the 212, talking about food some more. Today, first Friday of Lent, right? So what do we do each year for Lent? We give you a comprehensive, as much as we can, list of fish fries.

[00:11:03] Not only in the 212, but local surrounding communities, so blood bank. All the blood they collect stays local to hospitals and stuff like that. They're doing this in honor of a little young man that they lost back in December of 2022 and there's a picture of him there. He's so cute, Mr. Eden. But again, it's Sunday, February 25th at 11am at St. Collette Catholic Church.

[00:12:21] Go to vitaland, which is v-i-t-a-l-a-n- if you get a table of eight, you can drop that down to $440 for the whole table. It's from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. So. You get a group of friends together, and it's a good night out. I've been to one of those. It's been a while, but I've been to one. Have you been to one? Yeah, a couple of them. Good times.

[00:13:40] Yeah.

[00:13:41] I also wanna mention Saturday, March 2nd,

[00:13:43] coming up is the Runza Kiwanas craft fair, Yeah, and they can use all the help they can they have need some help with hospitality Serving beverages some kitchen help just putting up decorations and cleaning up afterwards There's definitely something anyone could do to volunteer and help out for those I think it's a four-hour event 6 p.m. Till 10 p.m. On the 20th. Yeah I mean everyone's always looking for opportunities to volunteer. So here's a this is a great one right here

[00:15:01] So get in touch with them and great think the last thing I'm a warmer weather

[00:16:05] and uh bundle yourself up and yeah go out there and check them out they're getting pretty elaborate with their stopping to cool beans.

[00:16:07] Yeah, year by year they get.

[00:16:08] Stop into cool beans.

[00:16:09] Yes.

[00:16:10] See what they're going to be bringing to Brunswick.

[00:16:12] Yeah, ask them say what are you doing? What are you bringing us?

[00:16:17] And I think that's about it.

[00:16:18] That's it. That's all I got.

[00:16:19] That's another wrap, right?

[00:16:20] Yeah.
